Hey dears,
I installed a new 4.1.1 rom , and I installed link2sd and all my required apps, and link2sd was working normally and I created mount script for ext2 partition. then I used lucky patcher to disable google ads. after that when I open link2sd it said uninstall link2sd and reinstall it. I uninstalled link2sd and when I tried to re-install it from google play , it says not sufficient space , I downloaded the apk file and when I'm installing it says unable to install link2sd. delete some items and try again.
I have 8.0 GB free memory !!
Any help please ?!

HI,
My htc wildfire s is a year old but I didn't managed to get much r&d on it.
I am new to cynogenmod just heard about it. So will cynogenmod help me unistalling unwanted applications from the rom of htc wildfire s which I never use?
Or is there any other way by which I can uninstall unwanted applications which were given by the manufacturer(htc) ?
As htc wildfire s always fires same line "memory low clear some data:crying: "

if your phone is rooted you can unistall as many apps you want,no matter its stock or downloaded.but be carefull about them.
like you can delete maps, youtube, email, news etc. by many apps or with emulator.
i deleted them by link2sd.it also works.
but if your is rooted you can have much memory with many tweaks like link2sd,mounts2sd,int2ext+ .

will search for link2sd and others you mentioned.
And will see how they do it .
thank you, :fingers-crossed:
Got a msg while I was removing facebook application.
Failure
Link2SD could not obtain root access.
If you have root access make sure you respond 'Allow' or 'Grant' to the superuser request.

you installed link2sd then first you have partition your sd card and also give it superuser permission.
you can directly go to superuser app and you can see link2sd there, allow permission then it ll work fine.
if you want to then transfer your app to your sd-ext partition(which you have created on your sdcard) then choose mount script like ext2/3/4 you can see options.then app ll move.
or if you wana use link2sd as only stock app deleting app, just cancel that dialogue box and go further.

ok ,
can i partition the drive with link2sd only or i will need another app to do that ?
You cn partition with cwm recovery or minipartition tool.
You cnt partition with any app.
Download minipartition tool and install it on ur computer.
Then partition your sd card following
Fat32 remaining space
Ext3 1 gb
Linux swap 512 mb
All partitions should be primary.
Then when u opened link2sd it ll ask fr mount partition, then choose ext3 and done.restart ur phn..after u cn link ur apps to ext partition which u created.

If it is possible to use SD-card for storing some of the system folders on wildfire S ?
I`m using Link2SD - it is awesome! But after installing apps even after moving/linking them to SD looks like there is still something stayed on the internal memory. Finally after installing some amount of apps - you do not have any more free space on internal.
One more similar question - how to change "downloads" directory to some folder on SD? If you have still some free space on Internal (for example 20mb) and you want to update some application which need 21mb (and it is already installed) - you will not be able to do it, because there is no enough space on internal. So you must delete your app, download the updated installation file and install it. Is it possible to download apps directly to the SD ?

about second thing download app i dont know about it..but it can solve by clearing cache(delete downloaded app )
and yeah there is one script which can provide you space upto 1 GB and its fast, stable.use int2ext from cronmod.(your rom should have init.d support)

I`m currently using Link2SD.
here is a line from int2ext thread:
Install
....
-Select "format /sd-ext"
if this will clear data from my existing sd-ext partition?
P.S.
I know about cache-clearing, but this also is a limited-time solution. int2ext looks much better...

int2ext will only work if you flash it right after flashing rom..it's not like you can flash that script anytime.
but you can use titanium backup and backup all your data then flash your rom again and then flash int2ext and format /sd-ext and reboot.
you will have now 1 GB space.(As per your sd-ext partition)
and yeah rom should have init.d support.

Thanks a lot. It is working now and it is exactly what i need. Thanks one more time!
I get some problems now. I have a lot of free space on system (>200mb), but when GooglePlay is trying to update apps - "Low disk space" message appear. Looks like some folder which is used for temporary gplay downloads is still on phones memory.
How to fix this?
anybody can help?
Hi, I've installed CyanoMod007 v31 with APPDATA moved to a 2GB ext2-partition on my SD-Card.
Now everything worked fine, except that in the settings, instead of my 2GB memory for apps, it still showed 140MB (though about 350MB are already in use). Still, I had no problems installing apps, so I didn't worry about that too much. But then when I tried to install a large app (150MB), the setup failed after the download completed, and now I can't install or update any app in the play store, because apparently there is not enough free space.
I've already connected the SD card to my notebook to check if it got somehow polluted with temporary data, but the sd-ext partition is fine, 350MB in use of 2GB overall.
So, I'm out of ideas, can someone help me on this?
(Sorry for not posting in the CyanoMod007-thread, but I don't have permission to do so...)
First of all, why ext2? I recommend ext4.
Try doing the partition with 4Ext Recovery.
Also, if it doesn't work I suggest u try Mounts2SD which moves ALL data. (Play Store)
Hello there!
I have a question that I hope you could help me with getting an answer for it.
I have a desire 816 rooted with init.d support & system write enabled.
I know there is no S-Off for our device yet.
I created an ext4 partition on my sd card to expand my internal storage. and chose to give mounts2sd a try..
Installed Mounts2sd. gave it superuser access of course &installed the script with no problem
then I rebooted my device and nothing happened, then I checked the log and it said that "The script has been invoked without super user permissions!"
Why did this happen? should the device be completely s-off to be able to run mounts2sd scripts correctly?
what do you do to expand your internal storage? or are we stuck with only using Link2sd only?
Thanks in advance guys
installed link2sd and then the mounting scripts & rebooted but after another reboot I got this message after a quick reboot it's gone..
I've searched for a solution, some says I shouldn't turn off my phone the normal way but reboot via link2sd to avoid this issue. but this is annoying really! anyone having this issue?

Getting Link2SD working was truly a pain. I got it working after several tries and I am still not sure how I did it but works and is able to mount the EXT3 partition after regular boot. OK so here is what I did and hope this helps. I partition my SD card (FAT32 and Ext3) at first I was able to only get it to work with quick boot. I had encryption enable and that didn't seem to play nice with Link2SD so I did a factory wipe. After the first boot and getting all the updates I turned off the device and booted to recovery(TWRP 2.8.4.0) and use adb to setup wp_mod.ko. I booted the phone and ran Link2SD scrip and restarted. Voila! I was able to link my apps to the second partition on my sd card.
Side notes:
ART runtime didn't seem to play nice in my case.
Getting Link2SD Plus is helpful it allows you to link "internal data". Very useful if you use the Facebook app that can eat up lots of storage.
I install Foldermount from the play store it really help me with large files for installing games like Real Racing or Wild Blood, also I moved manually the Thumbnails folder of the camera and many more in orther to free my internal sdcard. The only problem you will find is that it is a paid app. So it's up to you.
I did it and I'm good with the choice.

I'm using foldermount.. It's an amazing app
but link2sd or mounts2sd are for linking or moving the apps apk, dalvik cache & also data if you choose that to ext partition..
with foldermount you can link data or obb folders as they tend to be large with some games but I'm asking for link2sd or mounts2sd to increase my internal storage...

I understand you are rooted and have write permissions but it doesn't hurt to try this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-816/development/mod-enable-init-d-stock-kernel-vm-t2987126
Flashing this also fixes permission to SD card to enable apps like Titanium Backup to write to the micro SD card.
I installed xperia themed rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-1s/development/rom-sony-xperia-z5-lollipop-ui-rom-t3254408. I am facing insufficient storage problem while installing the gapps. I guess the xperia apps utilized all the available system storage. Is there any solution for this apart from partitioning the sd card?
Thanks in advance....
maybe mounts2sd can do it, u have the option which partition to move to external sd 2nd partition, so just use other rom with gapps to download mounts2sd then copy the app to ur sdcard then install the xperia themed rom w/o gapps, install and config the mounts2sd install script inside the app n uncheck all option then reboot, open the app again now check move system partition to sdext then reboot (it may take long time since it move the system partition for the 1st time). if it success u can now install the gapps
