hi I've been bought single xm last month..and now i'm facing for annoying problem which is my sound from speakers doesnt come out.. But if I plug earphone the sounds are come out.. I've been searching on Google but other ppl have same issue with no answer for this problem.. I really appreciate who give my answer for this problems..thx
It sounds like your handset is still detecting that the headphones are plugged in even when they are not. I used to have this problem with my Miro, all I had to do was reboot the phone and that would solve it until it happened again. I don't know the root cause of it so I can't help all that much.
sounds like a hardware problem, its only a month old get it back to sony centre for repair under warranty take any root if you have it off aswell before you take it also no unlocked bootloader as this voids the warranty

I have an Xperia Play R800i (o2)
Hi, a few weeks after rooting my Xperia Play I left it in the drawer for 3 days and it went really cold , so when I switched it on my screen had a grey screen with lots and lots of different colored dots everywhere so I quickly unrooted the phone. I forgot to mention than when I rooted my phone I changed the CPU through an app.
It happened every 20 minutes and when it did happen I used to slide the game pad up or press the power button a couple of times and it would go back to normal. And a few days ago I restored my phone to factory settings and now I cant get to the home screen and I also tried updating it using PC Companion but it still shows the screen .
So could someone please tell me if this is a hardware or software issue.
My phone is still locked to o2, I haven't unlocked the boot loader. And my warranty is still valid. I was going to go to the o2 store but thought if someone knew how to fix this because it might have been my fault a little because of me changing the CPU
p.s. I am a newbie to rooting. I followed steps off the internet.
Please someone reply and help me quickly. :good:
Oh no
I just got the exact same problem mate.
I get a weird grey screen every 20 mins just like you mentioned. And the only way I can get back to the normal screen is by sliding up the gamepad.
The phone is still usable but damn it feels like it might be dead soon.
Just to be safe im not going to restore like you did.

Yes, you might as well not and I contacted o2 and now I am going to go to the o2 store and get it fixed. And you might as well get it repaired as soon as possible or it will worsen.
My phone was bought on Amazon. I'll have to try a local shop maybe. If that doesn't work in not sure what I'll do.
Although at the moment it's working fine only getting the fuzzy screen like 3 times a day.

I contacted Sony they said I should try repairing from the sony Ericsson pc suite. He also said if that doesn't work you can send it in to repair. I was told that if it's a hardware problem then they would repair it for free. But if it's a water damage or dropped phone problem it's unrepairable and they would charge me £10.
Pretty pleased with that actually because I'm almost certain my mobile wasn't damaged by a drop or water. So it has to be an hardware issue.
If not then well in screwed.

This is the hardware problem. This is the tape connecting the screen with pad issue. Buy new tape, change and everything will be ok.
Well I have sent it in to Sony now. I'm sure Sony will fix it right?
If they do send it back unrepaired then I may think of doing this myself.
sent from PC missing Xperia Play already.

I went to the o2 store on monday and today I got it back and they didn't charge me and it works fine and it also has 90 day warranty with it. It came really fast. So those on o2 with the warranty send it and they'll fix it. And those on other networks send it in to get it checked if it is under the warranty and for those who don't have a warranty or insurance or whatever then it will cost you.

Guys, did anyone had the same problem as below? I bought new Xperia S two days ago and I'm really annoyed because of this. Device recognizes headphones as plugged when they are unplugged. I tried to reset, restart and plug/unplug headphones many times. What can be the reason? And maybe solution for this? I think flashing custom rom may help cuz people say they got it after update to ICS but I don't want to lose warranty or brick 2 days old phone. Please, anyone?
Just keep jamming the headphones in and out. Lots have had the same issue

You should repair it with SUS or PC Companion. It's Sony official programs and you won't lose your warranty.

A lot of people say flashing new roms etc doesn't work as it's the port itself that thinks something is plugged in so until you clear it it will regardless

I had same problem, just turn some music on and plug/unplug headphones until it works.
This is not new on XS. I had those problems on other cheaper SonyEricsson devices. Once I had to go to service with SE Cedar. Mabey you won't need to

I have already repaired rom with SEUS but I haven't tried plugging/unplugging so I hope it will help
Insert a cotton swab in the headphones connector and twist it a few times then take it out and reset.
still not working

Hi Guys,
Am having this problem now, ofcourse its a hardware problem, as Ben said if you try plugging and unpluggin diff headsets it should get released. Basically its due to longtime use of headsets the jack gets.. Am now using SoundAbout to manually route the Calls/songs to headset or earpiece or speakers... may be later i need to correct my hardware..

Headphones
Ive answered another thread on this subject somewhere.
Ive just bought some philips headphones from curries (Same style as original ones) £14.95
The key to finding heaphones for the st15i was discovering that the 3.5 jacks divided 3 times and not four worked - meaning the metal plug at the end has two rings and not three.
i had my xperia play and thanks to sony ericsson quality my flex cable broke so i decided to get it repaired, when i got it back the phone was dead it was completely broken has anyone had problems with their play?
You didn't turned on your phone when you take it from repair? Can you return to whoever repair it to do it properly?
Does it enter flash mode or fastboot mode?
Is led on when charging?
Maybe battery is very low so it can't be turned on...
Or just maybe one more xPlay has joined xPlay heaven

If they gave you the phone back and told you it was repaired, go complain to them. Either they lied or fixed it very badly. Besides, when you take something to repair, you get a warranty for that repair as a guarantee that the service was well done and not some paliative (at least that is how things work in my country). Go bother them until they give you a new one (or another phone).

they repaired it so bad that they messed about with parts like the microphone which have nothing to do with it and i got no guarantee with it i only payed a few quid so i thought forget it not worth it anyway as outdated hardware and now have a xperia t so might aswell sell it on ebay for a few quid

IMHO, from that sound, that means guys in repairs didn't put flex cable properly (i had same problem with that sound when i was closing my Play). It noticable on near-open position and near-end position.
But, unless you are willing to fight with guys who repairs your Play, only other option is to sell it.
There is 3rd option, but i dont think you have torex screwdriver?

Unlocked bootloader and rooted phone but now is causing my issues. Whenever I use mobile data and connect to maps my phone turns off after 30 seconds or so. Sometimes it won't even turn on I have to connect to charger then it's fine. This happens every time.
I'm on 4.2.2
Build .244
This started after I flashed the above build. This happens Even on older versions. Help please.
You did a full reset and wipe (incl the internal SD)?
Problems otherwise likely.

I believe so will try again.should I flash via external card? Come to thinking don't think I did.

Should have left it no point rooting this, last time I probably buy Sony.

I have C6506, I have overheating and reboots. When it overheats a little it reboots automatically, sometimes even doesn't get to homescreen.
I've send a letter to sony, but about 4 days, no answer!
I rooted the phone, unlocked the bootloader, flashed stock firmware and nothing changed for a while, but then suddenly it rebooted.
And I locked bootloader, and full wiped all phone, all sd cards, but no luck. Even unrooted the phone, but the Overheating is still there. ;(
Some tips.Answer for Z1 is firmware downgrading, but is it for our ZL! ?

Well in the end I just sent it in for repairs. Sony are trying to fix issue, it's been over 10 days still not sorted. I think they are awaiting parts, will keep you posted.
Unsure if I will be charged for this or not.
Btw downgrading didn't make a difference.

I guess Sony makes it harder for them selves for making so much problems with these Battery's for ZL,Z,Z1 phones. So much clients are very sad and angry and probably they won't buy another Xperia phone ever again. This was an SHOCK FOR ME, that such a company (SONY) would be so lightminded about their phones.
REALLY SAD!
Waiting for you'r answer!
I'll be posting too, when sony writes back!

I did flash generic rom and unlock boot loader via flash tool.
Some say that these problems with inbuilt battery are because of the chargers.
The seller i bought from said that it could solve the problem by finsing the original usb cable and the charger.
The problem with me is that my adapter is for USA and I can't simply use in Latvia(Europe).
So try charging youre phone with original usb and adapter, that came with youre phone.
Somebody knows prices for fizing this problem if sony charges from me.?

I know this problem has been there for quite sometime but alas! There is no fix except taking device to sony service centre. On the left side you can see random black dots . earlier i gave my phone to service centre since it was under warranty. All they did was to reflash the rom and problem was gone. Now the device has run out of warranty and they're demanding charge for the same. I hope xda fellows can help me out!!
Sent from my C6502 using XDA Free mobile app
I don't think its a rom related problem... I think its hardware related... The reason i say this is because I have the same problem with my camera and no matter which rom i tried it was still there... So I took it to the service center... My phone was under warranty and they said they would replace it! So I'm waiting for it now....
You should have asked for a replacement right away! Anyways try asking for a replacement now... or maybe try emailing higher authorities... they are often much more considerate and helpful than most service center people... (according to my experience anyways..)
That's the last resort... If there is no fix I'll take it up with service centre. This problem was fixed earlier and has come again. So i guess they'll understand
