If you can get the pin off your old charger you can make it into a usb power plug by soldering the wires together and heatshrinking it. Basically the XOOM will work on any charger that outputs 5V DC, so technically you could charge via USB, but it be a lot slower by 2X I believe. USB is 600mha while the official XOOM charger is 1200mha.
Xoom doesnt have working usb charge Function ... only with original charger and dock power pins (two golden ones)
Xooms Hardware doesnt allow usb charge without Hardware Modifications!

I guess people these days don't either read correctly or don't give any thought to my posts. I been posting in various forums and they all tend to miss important details as of lately. I will state what I said again:
If you take the pin off your adapter and modify it to connect VIA USB IT WILL WORK, jeez I can't believe people can't even understand that. When I was talking about charging via USB, that is assumed that you have the modified cable you made.
SO therefore I was right, and you are talking crap.
---------- Post added at 10:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:52 AM ----------
Alright I will admit I was wrong on one thing, the adapter says 12V 1.5A, not 5V 1.2A, thought it was 5V since my usb car charger works. But anyways here is the damn proof that USB CHARGING IS POSSIBLE.

More than enough proof for you.
Your information should have been, If you take off the power adapter from the cable and modify a car charger to the end it would work..
If your information was post correctly there won't be any miss understand, by the way it is not a pin its a plug.
I'm not going to bother explaining every freakin context behind each words I say. My info more was than enough, unless you are some dim person and couldn't get my point. I clearly stated the fact that you had to solder and heatshrink the wires. Which I believe was more than a big enough "hint". Besides I brought my own adapter "plug" "pin" "tip or whatever you want to call it, so there was no need to modify a freakin car charger. Still can't read can you?

The USB only outputs 5V. The battery is 7.4 lithium poly which charges to 8.4V so can you see why this won't charge. By the way it is Write and not rite or right. Also there are a few mods that can be added to this tablet to make it run well. My solar panel will charge it up nicely when I'm at work or whatever.
My galaxy nexus battery icon shows charging mark although it is not connected to the power.
Now I have installed android 4.1.1.I installed 4.1.2 but same issue with it.
Any help appreciate very much..

Then there's something wrong with your USB port.
Hardware problem. Something to do with USB port not Android
You can try:
- straighten the metal part of the USB port using tooth pick or something
Or
- clean the port using alcohol (make sure the phone has battery pulled off to make sure it's not taking any power)

Hi!
I bought my GNII a week ago and phone is awesome!
The only problem is it takes soooooooooo long to charge. I didn't assume that something was wrong yet since it is new. After charging for the third time and it's still slow, I searched for answers but came back empty. So I'm here hoping somebody could help at least so that I could do everything on my end before contacting my provider.
Here are some information:
1. Charger that I am using is the stock charger that came along with the phone. USB cable and Original Charger.
2. Phone is not rooted.
3. When I plug it using the wall charger (USB cable + Original Charger) it is being detected as USB instead of AC.
Hope somebody could help.
Thanks!

No there aren't , the problem is with the defective 4 pin usb cable bundeld with few of our sets actually we need to have 5 pin cables for proper charging , had exactly the same problem with my s3 puechased a HTC usb cable after that my problem was gone for good.

Yep the one packed with it is usb3 which is a bit faster. The other one is usb2 which is a bit slower.

Hi! Some breakthrough. I charged my phone at the office using the wall charger and plugging it to a UPS and VIOLA!! It charged as AC!! Could you (or anybody) know why?
Root, flash a custom kernel which supports fast usb charging

will it charge like AC after flashing? Rooting it would be my last option since I just discovered it could charge as AC without rooting. The only problem is why it charges as USB on wall charger but AC on a UPS.

That kernel will charge at 900mA by default over a normal usb connection.
I flashed it rather that the sock kernel just for that reason, plus for me it gives improved battery life etc over the stock kernel. You can overclock also but I have no desire to do that with the Note 2 as its pleanty fast enough already.
Does anyone know off a kernel that actually has usb fast charging enabled in it ?
Hi.. i purchased a note 3 from someone .. the original 3.0 USB cord and charger base is there but when i go to charge the phone, it doesnt take the charge until i pull upon the end of the charger where the USB meets the bottom of my phone..
it looks like something may be missing there or something isn't tight.. can you take your note 3 back cover off and let me know if yours loook like mine? I was going to purchase another 3.0 cord but i dont think it's that... the regular chargers work in my phone and that's what i've been having to use
I'd appreciate your help. some pics i just took are below

Try and tighten the 2 screws (half turn) on either side of the usb port, and see if that will help. I just had the same problem and that fixed it.

I'm having trouble with a 2.0 cable too. Maybe the stiff, heavy, white cable damages the USB port.

Funny because I just got my note 3 2 months ago I could only use 3.0 USB for the first 2 or 3 weeks until it's started charging my phone super slow or not at all... USB 2.0 works tho...

My wife and I are have the same issue. Both phone charge using usb 2.0 cords with the oem wall plug but won't charge with the oem 3.0 cords. Started a few weeks ago, up until yesterday my cord still worked on both phone but not today
.....grrrrr
The charging cables from Samsung seem to be faulty, both of my factory cables have gone bad (mine and my wife's) but my third party cable works wonderfully.
Yep, same here. It's a really strange problem. Mine stopped charging with the oem cable maybe a month after I got it (tried tightening the screws on the port, which did feel a bit loose), but still had problems with charging. The OG cable does however mount the phone on my computer for odin / file transfers so I just got a wireless charging module and charge my phone that way. Adding further to the mystery, I just ordered this micro usb 3.0 hub: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JWM7GUY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but I haven't bothered to try it out until right before posting this (I had a pack of 10 micro usb 2 port covers and I'm down to like 2 because I frequently lose them when I take them out; wish I could find one that attaches to the phone, like the one on the S5, anyone know where one could obtain such a product??) Anyways, the hub works fine, plugged my ps3 controller and a flash drive into usb ports on the hub and it worked no problem.
So, the port seems to work for anything except charging with the OG cord (just noticed that it does actually charge if I plug a power cord (not included) into that hub. The OG cord doesn't work anymore for charging, but provides a perfectly stable connection to my PC. So, in conclusion:
Hi,
recently i bought Redmi Note 9 Pro ( indian ver ).
after while its come to disconnected when i charge in rapidly mod ( 33watt )
0% -40% there is no problem, when charging from 40%-55% it gets disconnected. after that when plugged it again it charges normally
i have changed my cable with normal (18 watt ) it doesn't disconnect
but when i change cable with same as orginal ( for charge with 33watt ) and its continue to disconnect
any problem reported related to this ? any solution ?
I don't think it is because of faulty port, nor a faulty cable. Lastly, this usually happens only when the battery is from 40%-55℅. Could it be a software problem? Any reply is appreciated!
OS - MIUI 11.0.4
I have done the basic trouble shooting like hard reset and recalibrated the battery also.

Same problem here! (Redmi Note 9 Pro Global version)
i also facing this issue, any solution for this?
Exactly the same issue.
Workaround would be to charge phone in switched off state.
It worked for me and charger the didnt keep connecting and disconnecting.
Do a power cycle
I had the same issue. I did complete power cycle.
Drained my battery to 0% then charged it upto 100% using turbo charge the whole time didn't saw the issue happening anymore.
Will update here if I see the issue any further.
If it happens then service center is the only option
