[Q] Is someone developing a over clock able kernel? - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I was wondering if anyone is currently developing a kernel for stock ROM that allows overclocking. I think the gpu at least could use some overclocking.
Thanks in advance.
P. S. Sorry for the title, autocorrection's fault.

No its nothing awful like that, its just simply that HTC have yet to release the source code for the new Kernel. As soon as they do we can start messing with it!
Until then there isnt a practical way of customising the kernel.

[Q] Installing SetCPU on Gingerbread

Installing SetCPU or any other CPU frequency tuning related program on 2.3.x? Is there any point to it? Since custom kernels for Gingerbread dont exist?
You can change the governors (ondemand, performance, userspace) and max/min clock rate I believe, but overclocking is impossible without a custome kernel.

Who told you that? Have a look at the Android Development forum.

I believe he is talking about custom kernels for Sense ROMs. Kernels for AOSP do exist of course.

What? Jeez, I've missed something very obvious here. Thank you for your answers though.
EDIT: Thank you very much for this info, my decision to try out Cyanogenmod just got justified Boy is my face red
cm7 obviously also has the CPU controls under it's settings so you may still not necessarily want to use setCPU.
I do anyway tho

i think the same that mr-jmm have a look at the development forum... there are custom kernels designeds in a first place for froyo but works perfect in gingerbread.. some buzz kernels and leedroid 2.2.x

Which ROM + kernel is the best for performance? [GSM]

Hey everyone,
I've been running AOKP + franco's kernel for quite some time now, and it is pretty amazing if I do say so myself . I wanted some change though, and I was wondering in what other GSM ROM have you guys had the best experience in?
there are multiple threads with this discussion, use the search feature please.
the best experience is simply... already what you're using, but if you really want change.. probably bigxie is what you want.

[Q] Anyone had luck getting current kangaroo kernel (R21) to boot with ANY rom?

Hey Everyone,
Recently I've been trying like heck to get any ICS/sense based ROM to boot with the current available kangarookernels (r19.1 and r21) and I've had no luck. I know there are other decent sense kernels out there but my primary interest is in fauxsound. I have a fascinate (galaxy s) here that I use for a music player and because of the voodoo hardware and kernel it blows basically any other phone I've come across out of the water in terms of headset output. Otherwise, do you guys know of any other AOSP/sense based kernels that incorporate fauxsound for our device. Thank you very much for reading and I look forward to any input that's out there.

-Should have mentioned that I'm S-OFF, currently running viperinc with havesense kernel. always follow the proper format for flashing and i'm havning no issues with the current combo. also i've used the antivenom script and it unfortunately did not help.
Build your own kernel?
It would allow you to have any configuration of options...

Thank you for the vote of confidence....but I'm not savvy enough with the programming language to build a kernel. I looked into adding kernel patches and tried getting a general feel for the Linux language....and I still don't know what a GIT is. I have a lot of respect for you folks out there who can make it happen but I'm not one of them.
