First Gen Kindle Fire Stuck in Kindle Fire logo bootloop - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a first gen Kindle that I am trying to unbrick. I've followed many instructions and I eventually get stuck. The problem is, I've followed these directions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602560
Now, when I get to the last part, where you have to type in adb in command prompt to list the devices, my device won't show. When I go into to the device manager, i see the kindle icon with a yellow triangle, i try to manually install it, and I direct the path, it starts to install and gives me the following error:
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while trying to install it
Android ADB Interface
The hash is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt of the victim of tampering."
How do I fix this? Can anyone please direct me to any way I can resolve this issue and get my Kindle to boot normally? Thanks.

[Q] KFU - No success - Kindle not found or Path not found

Hi, noob here. Searched but could not find answer...
Running Windows 7 x64. Attaching KF via USB and tapping "disconnect" after it installs it as USB drive.
Trying to root kindle fire for first time using KFU 0.9.5. Put KFU files/folders into new directory called KFU on root of C: drive. Device drivers seem to install ok and device manager indicate "ADB device" (not "kindle").
when i run kfu normally, it cannot find my kindle. (and "ADB Status offline")
when i run kfu as "administrator" ADB Status shows Online but I get "windows cannot find tools\wget", then many "system cannot find the path specified" errors and i get stuck at the "read me" saying "do NOT unplug kindle if we are stuck here..."
(in both of above, KFU shows boot status as "unknown")
Anything else i can try?
TIA

try to follow this steps to steps video from nat3mil.It should be helpful.
But always make sure that you know what you are doing for every single steps you take.even if its a small one.
if not,ask here and wait until you get a reply.
i don't want people to follow my footsteps causing myself trouble.Hope this helps.
And if you patient enough.try to root and flash recovery manually.its safer since you know what you are doing.

[Q] Problems with FFF & KFU. Device not recognized

Hello-
Quick background. I have a Kindle Fire with the CM9-Reloaded ROM installed. All was going well for a few weeks until my Kindle stopped connecting to the internet. I figured it was just a bug and wanted to reinstall the ROM or choose a different one.
I have FFF v1.4 (with the blue logo) installed. When I get to the screen that allows me to choose "Normal Boot", "Recovery", or "Reset Boot Mode" I choose the "Recovery" to go into TWRP; however, this doesn't happen. It puts me back into a loop to the same screen to choose again. I can do this over and over again and I'm still not able to get into recovery to get to TWRP.
I decided to see if I could use the Kindle Fire Utility to get to TWPR that way. Before everyone asks, my drivers are all updated and functioning properly. I uninstalled and reinstalled just to double check. When the Kindle is plugged in, I can go to the device manager and see my Kindle there. The problem is that KFU says I'm offline and I can get to any of the menus. When I plug in my Kindle I do get the little "bong" that tells me my computer recognized it.
Also, went to my laptop and downloaded the KFU and installed everything. Same result as with my desktop.
What else can I try? I have a factory cable, but I really don't know much about how to use it. I simply followed step by step instructions to root this when I originally got it. Any suggestions? I'd really just like to put this Kindle back to stock, re-root, and try it all over again to eliminate any potential issues in the future. Thanks in advance for your help.
Does "adb reboot recovery" not work from within the ROM either? You can try to reflash TWRP from fastboot, if you're feeling brave enough. Double check the hash first, though.

No, adb reboot recovery doesn't work. How would I reflash TWRP from fastboot? I'm definitely a rookie at cmd work.

By it not working, do you mean that it reboots normally?
"fastboot getvar product" to get the KF to stick with fastboot mode when it's loading the bootloader.
"fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" very important to double check the file hash to make sure it's not corrupt.
"fastboot reboot" only in case it doesn't automatically reboot on its own.
EDIT: Keep in mind fastboot mode uses a different set of drivers, so you may have to install those as well (included in KFU, along the ADB ones).

Please don't hijack other people's threads, start your own here on Q&A. Otherwise, handling with two completely different issues in the same place gets awfully confusing. Also, read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552547

Kindle Fire stuck at logo after failed rooting.

Hello,
My friend left me his Kindle Fire yesterday (it's vanilla, because he only watches movies with it), and I've tried rooting the device and complications happen and now my Kindle is stuck at logo. I'd really appreciate it if you can help me fix it. Here's what happened:
- I downloaded the KFU, and followed the instruction on rooting. After installing the drivers and run the utility, the driver shows as online and 4000, and I started rooting.
- The utility downloaded TWRP and FFF, and while installing FFF, the utility is stuck at <waiting for device> (at the same time, Windows gives me an error of Device not recognized). After I unplugged the device, kindle now is stuck at logo. I tried to reinstall the driver through the file in KFU to no avail.
- Open Device Manager, I saw the driver has yellow exclamation. Followed someone's guide on here, I uninstall the driver.
- After I plug the Kindle in again, Windows won't recognize the device and in Device Manager, it shows up as Unknown Device.
- I tried to reinstall the driver through KFU, it installs really fast (I think that means I haven't exactly uninstall the driver, idk), but then the device manager still doesn't recognize Kindle and it still shows Unknown Device.
- I switched to a different computer with KFU driver installed before, it still shows Unknown Device >.<
I tried changing the Bootmode through KFU to normal, but it stuck at <waiting for Device>
EDIT: I started with a different laptop, install a new, clean version of Kindle driver, and then connect the Kindle in again. It still shows Unknown Device.
Help please D:??????
If it says /unknown device/ in your divice manager then your drivers are not installed...Get your drivers installed first. Also try the UNBRICK utility it help me when i first started.

Most of the time (if not all), when I see an "unknown device" error, it is a sign of a corrupt or failing bootloader. So far, there is only one way to fix a bad bootloader (Firekit), but it takes a little work on your part.
Before I get into that just yet, you need to know that on top of that potentially being the problem, you still have to deal with Windows driver issues. So my suggestion to you is, since you may very well have to install Linux or set up a Linux LiveUSB to fix your bootloader problem, you might as well install Soupkit to see if the bootloader is in a usable enough condition to issue fastboot commands. It's unlikely, but you'll at least be able to launch Firekit easily, and without the need to install anything else.
Same problem
I'm having the same issue with my manager's kindle fire (6.3.1). I attempted to root using the instructions provided here . My windows explorer crashed during the process and the kindle has been stuck on the kindle logo since.
I have tried restarting the process with his supplied driver and I can get the kindle to be recognized correctly in the device manager, but the process does not work.
I have also tried the kindle fire unbrick utility found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428428 to no avail (device not found).
I have also tried the kindle fire utility found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889 also to no avail (ADB Status: Offline Boot Status: Unknown).
And last but not least, I have constructed a "factory cable" in an attempt to fix this. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be working either. Even with the factory cable inserted, the device never boots to anything but the kindle fire logo (Drivers installed, plug in, power off, power back on, kindle logo).
I would purchase a pre-made factory cable, but they all ship from China, I'm a cheapskate, and I'm pretty sure mine is configured correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions for trouble shooting this?
I've attached pics of my "factory cable" as well. If something looks amiss. Please let me know.
seems to be in fastboot mode - look here - especially post #3:

[Q] Problems with rooting Kindle fire

Hi,
sorry in advance for my English - I am from Germany...
Maybe this is a stupid one but I am struggeling with rooting my kindle fire. Before running the installing_drivers.bat the Kindle was shown as 'Kindle' in the device manager after installing the drivers as 'Android Composite ADB Interface' which seems to be correct.
After starting run.bat I always get the following messages:
ooops... something went wrong
We are unable to locate your Kindle Fire.
Make sure it is plugged in and powered on.
trwp.img has been found.
fff.bin has been found.
Fastboot uses a different device than ADB
you should check device manager for Kindle or Amazon
if you see it rerun the driver installer that came packaged with KFU
installing FFF
#waiting for device#
now - nothing happens any more. Any idea what went wrong or what kind of mistake I made? (The kindle is plugged in an powered on )
Thanks for your support
Kerstin
Does your device enter fastboot? Does kfu indicate your device online boot status 4000. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923010

All I can see it the message I mentioned before.
When you start kfu with your device plugged in it should indicate the status of the device, whether its online or offline and the boot status. This is a first gen kindle fire isn`t it?

And exactly that is the problem, it showed the device online the very first time I tried it but also showed this 'oooops.... something went wrong, we are unable to locate your kindle fire' in the beginning. It stuck with the message 'waiting for device'. after an hour or so I disconnected the device and gave it another try since that time I always get the above described message and do not get any more to the info if device is on or offline. Attached a screenshot of the failure message. :crying:
And yes it is a first gen.

A couple weeks ago i rooted my Kindle fire. Sadly I had no idea what I was doing. I have gone throught countless troubleshooting forums, programs, KFU, Kindle Fire unbricker. I cant access the SD or much less anything in the device. When i turn it on all that happens is the "Kindle Fire" logo pops up. When i run KFU It says ADB is online but boot status is unknown. I can NOT RUN ADB SHELL and get the error message
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -
I also get the occasionaly running other commands.
Please help me I have no idea what I'm doing.
I have original kindlke fire
I now have a FACTORY CABLE.
Make sure the device is powered down and plug in your factory cable. Then use fastboot to install custom recovery.
What were you doing before this happened?
