[Q] can no longer connect to network - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

My original battery was draining fast and wasnt fully charged so before work I threw in an anker battery I've had for about a year. Phone booted fine until I went to make a call and there was no network connection.
Since then I've put the original battery back in, restored my last backup before cyanogen 10.2.1 rc , and then flashed 10.2.1 stable. I reflashed my modem and then flashed the newest modem.
No luck. WiFi still works. Did I somehow fry the radio with the battery change? Not sure what could have happened
Also imei still 14 digit

So I tried the sim in an old phone I had. Still no network. I took it to a local store and had them change the sim still nothing on either phone. They popped the sim into one of the phones they had there and the network connected. The only difference between my phones and theirs is mine are rooted and running cyanogen. I'm confused. I also flashed stock firmware 4.3. Still nothing, though wifi calling and texting does work so I think the sim is ok.

mobile data not connecting

So my t989 is rooted but with stock rom kernel and radio. Since yesterday my phone won't connect to 4g, 3g, or edge. I tried taking the sim card and battery out to no avail. I put my sim in my nexus s and i get 3g. So its not a problem with my account or the network.
check APN settings?
remember to freeze the Tmo crapware?

i ran into this incident a couple of times, first time thought it was tmo's network, but after a night of sleep it all went well again. this happened just after i rooted my phone for the first time too.
2nd time was a couple weeks back, the data just stopped completely without a warning or notice. i call in tech support and they told me to check the data packet, once checked it was all good. i know i've never touched that option before, but just didn't know why it was unchecked.

[Q] No data connection 4G/2G/E

Hey guys, I picked up a new Samsung Galaxy S II (T-Mobile) about a month ago from the retail store.
About a week ago I was using my phone as a hotspot for my xbox and then I got disconnected while playing. I wondered what was the problem and I saw the data icon was in the no connection state. Now I restarted the phone in case it was the simple loss of signal bug but it wasn't. My data wasn't coming back on. No matter what I did the connection wouldnt come back on. I called the tmobile tech support and they gave me rubbish things such as reboot phone, take out battery and wait 20 seconds, and all that jazz. I then noticed a pattern starting with my phone, the phone would connect to 4g then a second later disconnect. It would repeat this all day and not change to anything else. If anyone can help with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. It was the SIM card. I only had the phone for 2 weeks and got a new sim card when I got the phone. It just went bad. Go to a corporate Tmo store and get a new card. They will give you one for free.
I have this same problem with my SGH-T989.
I'm running CM 10.1.3 (Android 4.2.2), and it's vendor unlocked (used to be a Rogers phone) now on the TELUS network.
Data will randomly disconnect, but I still have all signal bars in grey. A reboot will enable it again, or sometimes it just comes back on it's own. I've been to the cell booth in the mall and they've swapped out a SIM card for me, no change.
I also noted that when the data isn't working, my WIFI doesn't seem to either. Modem issue? How can I tell what modem I have and what would be best? I assume CM 10 comes with it's own modem for this phone and when I flash CM it writes the modem too?
thanks for any help.

Flashing a ROM usually does not touch the radio. Newer ROMs(4.2.2 and later) need either the UVMC6 or TLMC4 radio from here:

[Q] Galaxy Nexus complete loss of Mobile Data

I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus running 4.2.2. I had installed AOKP a few months ago and it worked great. On Saturday my phone died and I didn't recharge it for about a day and when I did I couldn't get any mobile data. There are no bars at all and in the settings->Phone Status it says 'service state: out of service' however mobile network state says 'connected'. I tried reinstalling AOKP and then a few other ROMs and every time I still couldn't get service. I wiped everything and reinstalled stock 4.0.4 and the stock radios and still no luck. The system then updated me to 4.2.2 OTA and the radios are the most up to date radios I515.09.V.FK01 FK02 but still no luck.
I believe I am getting LTE because I can get emails and use GoogleChat without WiFi but I can't place any calls or send texts because (I'm guessing) CDMA is messed up for some reason.
I took it to verizon and after they fiddled with it for a while and put a new SIM card in (and did another factory reset) it still wasn't connecting. They say it is just a phone hardware issue and there is nothing they can do and since it is out of warranty I'm sol and have to buy a new phone at retail. Does anyone have any idea of something I could try to fix this? Thanks a lot for any advice

Issue with phone dropping to no service? but stays connected on Edge

I had this phone for a while, put it in storage (my desk) and then gave it to a family member. After putting sim card and flashing latest slimrom 4.4.4 SGH-M919 (baseband m919uvuamdl)
wiped phone etc... restored msgs and few things.
Everything seemed fine, after phone goes to sleep for a min or two, it shows then no service!
So I tried all apn settings etc... switching from 4g to 3g, then did 2g and boom it stays connected on 2g without issue.
So went and got a new sim card, apparently this was very old 2g sim card that I cut to fit into adaptor.
Does anyone know what is the issue? the new sim is having exact same issue and only works on 2g, if putting it to 3g or 4g, it works for a while, but after it goes to sleep and you wake it it shows no service.
Also this kills the battery as the phone seems to be trying to connect?
Should I flash the rom again? do I need different baseband? flash to older version of rom?

Try a different rom....if that doesnt work...then flash the stock firmware with odin (twice to make sure it sticks) and see if its fixed.
I went and did one of full firmware over Odin

you know whats crazy? it worked but it kept the old apps and accounts? Half the stuff didnt work, so I went and did a factory reset, that wiped everything and now the phone seems to be back to stock and working properly.
crazy, never thought that a ROM update could mess things up for the radio?

Suddenly No Service?

I have the LG-VK810 from Verizon. It worked fine last night while playing PoGo. Plugged it into the charger before bed. Woke up this morning and everything works except for my 4G radio. I have 0 signal. No bars.
I have factory reset the tablet, pulled and put the sim card back in, checked my mobile network settings.. nothing is bringing my signal back, has my radio just burnt out?
If so, I have a spare VK810 that doesn't work, would it be possible to simply swap the radios?
Thanks in advance.
Have you checked in other areas to see if data is working? Checked in Settings / About to make sure it still has an IMEI?
Are you running completely stock (non-rooted) 36B?
Try a SIM from another device?
