This is what I did..
Step 1: Download the link above
Step 2: Extract the zip file and move the extracted folder into "Downloads" folder
Step 3: Open Terminal and type:
cd Downloads
cd GalaxyNexusRootMac
./fastboot-mac oem unlock
Step 4: Plug your phone via microUSB and enter into bootloader mode (Press volume up, volume down, and power button until you feel a vibration)
Step 5: Press volume up and power button to select "Yes" (It says may void warranty, don't worry because you can always lock the booloader if you want)
Step 6: Go back to Terminal and type:
Type for GSM:
./fastboot-mac flash recovery GSM_recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.2-maguro.img
Step 7: Enter into ClockworkMod Recovery Mode (First enter into Bootloader Mode then press volume up twice and power to select "Recovery")
Step 8: Select "Reboot System Now" using volume and power buttons.
Step 9. Once your phone has finished rebooting Go back to your computer and go to "Downloads > "GalaxyNexusRootMac" and transfer "CWM-SuperSU-v0.87.zip" into internal Sd card phone.
Step 10: Enter into "Bootloader Mode" (Power off phone, hold down volume up, volume down, and power button until you feel a vibration)
Step 11. Press volume up 2x (twice) and power button to select "Recovery"
Step 12. Select "Install Zip from Sdcard" > "Choose Zip from Sdcard" > Select
"CWM-SuperSU-v0.87.zip".
Step 13. Choose "Yes" > Go Back > Reboot System Now
Found these instructions at the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1790399
My phone is now stuck in recovery mode.
I have tried doing some troubleshooting with my little knowledge:
Perform Wipe data/Factory reset (this will delete all apps and their settings and game progress) and choose Yes on next screen to confirm the action. Then perform Wipe Cache Partition and once again hit Yes to confirm.
Return to CWM recovery main menu and select Mounts and Storage > Format / data and click Yes on next screen to confirm.
From the main menu of CWM recovery, go to Advanced and choose Wipe Dalvik Cache. Then hit Yes on next scrand messed up the whole situation.
It currently shows:

So I perm rooted and it says S-Off in fastboot and I have superuser access I believe.
I got rom manager and downloaded clockwork through rm. I try to install rom from SD card, select the baconbits rom, it asks to backup or clear, I have tried both.
The phone boots to htc screen, then shows a black screen with a phone and a red symbol over it. I waited 20 minutes on that screen and nothing happened.
I was able to push vol up and power to get a console but I can't load anything there. It will reboot just fine after that but I have no changes and still cannot overclock.
Does this have something to do with the user keys or whatever?
Thanks in advance for reading this and any help that gets offered. I hate to have my first post on a forum being a "help me" post.

Go into Rom Manager and try to flash Clockwork recovery again. This has happened to a lot of people... Flash it a second time, and it should be good.
Dan
Did you download the "g2-recovery-test-keys.img" from the 3rd post quoted below?
Place that file in the C:/android/tools or whatever your cd line is, which should in the tools folder. Now go the 6th step. FYI the sixth step I tried from fastboot and recovery, none worked until I reinstalled the drivers my computer kept prompting me for and immedatly got the OKAY's from the 7th step.
Edit: The code "fastboot flash recovery g2-recovery-test-keys.img" should be copied pasted onto your cmd.

Noob walkthrough:
1.Setup Android SDK and install drivers/udev rules as needed
2. S-Off your g2 http://goo.gl/Sc134
4. Copy vision-baconbits-0.3.zip to your sdcard, rename it update.zip (you can do this via adb using: adb push vision-baconbits-0.3.zip /sdcard/update.zip)
5. Reboot to fastboot mode (adb reboot bootloader)
6. Flash the recovery http://n0rp.chemlab.org/android/vision/g2-recovery-test-keys.img : fastboot flash recovery g2-recovery-test-keys.img (if you get 'waiting for device' your phone either isnt in fastboot mode, or you will need to fix your sdk drivers)
7. You should get two 'OKAY's once recovery flash is complete
8. Press the power button once; then the vol down button to highlight 'recovery'; then the power button again to select the 'recovery' option
9. The phone will reboot to recovery
10. Press volume up+power to show the recovery menu
11. Select the 'Apply:update.zip' option, using volume keys to navigate, and power button as [enter]
12. Once the zip applies, reboot
If you get signature verification errors on the zip, it means your fastboot flash of recovery failed to apply, redo it

Bingo, That worked. Glad it was that simple. I actually had to flash clockwork a third time to get it to go all the way.

" [2] ADVANCED BOOT PROBLEMS
S-OFF
"I'm S-OFF, I can't boot recovery and my phone doesn't
boot"
For one reason or another, your recovery image is corrupted
and when you try to boot into recovery, all you get is the
HTC screen and your phone doesn't boot. It is relatively
simple to fix, and there is more than one way to go about
doing this. All you need to do, is to flash a new recovery
image.
Possible causes
- I have no idea, however if somebody has an explanation
then feel free to PM me.
Repairing recovery, booting phone:
NOTE: If you have a PVT4 Device, go to "Flashing custom
recovery". If you are unsure, check just to be safe.
#METHOD 1#
Method One uses Android Flasher to flash the recovery
image.
[STEP1] - Battery pull. Hold the BACK button and the
POWER button to boot into FASTBOOT mode.
[STEP2] - Download Android Flasher
[STEP3] - Download the recovery image . Put it in a place you
can remember.
[STEP4] - Run android flasher, tick "Recovery", and press
"Begin"
[STEP5] - Browse to where you downloaded the recovery
image, select it, and press "open"
[STEP6] - repeat [1] from [STEP4] onwards
#METHOD 2#
Method two uses cmd and requires Android SDK to be set
up.
[STEP1] - Battery pull. Hold the BACK button and the
POWER button to boot into FASTBOOT mode.
[STEP2] - Download the recovery image . Rename it to
"recovery.img" for simplicity, and place it in the following
directory:
Code:
C:\
[STEP3] - then in cmd type the following commands
Code:
cd c:\android-sdk\tools
fastboot flash recovery c:\recovery.img
fastboot oem gencheckpt (this command boots you into recovery, ignore the feedback from
[STEP4] - repeat [1] from [STEP4] onwards"
Im trying with AndroidFlasher .Problem is link to recovery.img is not working. Can you tell me the full name of recovery i should google and download?
TIA
download ClockWorkMod recovery for bravo then you can flash any custom rom... 4ext is highly recommended but you should download it via app (download from here)
Is it really necessary to open another thread about your problem?

If link is down then use any other recovery from the recoveries section.
Hey all. Tried to install new rom and now all I have got is the white HTC screen. Problem is I cant access recovery to fix it, tried pressing power and volume down button but all it does is reboots. Please help and i promise not to touch my phone again.
Did you flash the boot.img file with fastboot commands ?
Try this : connect the phone to the pc and open a commandprompt inside the fastboot folder then type
Fastboot reboot bootloader
or
Adb reboot bootloader
This should boot you to the bootloader and from there you can acces the recovery !
ah no, oops. I shouldnt be messing with my phone coz I aint got a clue what Im doing. How do I do what you just told me
How did you install the recovery then ?
But try this then
Download these files
http://db.tt/ldx3qOOU
And put them on the pc looking like this
C\fastboot\files i gave you
Then install the HTC drivers (google) if you didn't do that already
Open a dosprompt inside the fastboot folder and type
Fastboot reboot bootloader
or Adb reboot bootloader
If that doesn't work hold down the power button and the volume - button together as long as it takes to see the bootloader !
First off thanks for your help. Tried that but still nothing. I got a htc all in one toolkit but it aint reconnising my phone.
Thank you, thank you, thank you and a million times thank you. Im in recovery, yay. Thank you again.
Then you have to install the java sdk platform tools too ....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605720
Read this too carefully...
But did you get in by holding the buttons or the commands, and what recovery do have at the moment
Please answer the questions carefully and right, so i can help you the right way
Will read that thread now. Got into recovery by holding the buttons down for what seemed like10 mins. Got clockworkmod recovery.
Oke wich one ? Is it 5.8.4.0 if yes leave the phone sitting in the recovery because it will charge the battery ! Leave it connected to the pc or wallcharger. You should see a red light of charging !
And try to get the fastboot stuff working its necessary to flash the kernel and maybe a different recovery if the one you are using is to old.
But how did you flash the recovery ?
I don't know which ROM you were flashing but here is what you can do:
Things I expect you have done already, according to your posts:
- Unlocked bootloader
- Installed recovery (Clockworkmod Recovery)
Things to do before you start:
- Install HTC drivers (and reboot the computer afterwards to make sure everything's working)
- setting up the fastboot files like Mr Hofs told. (so put adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll and fastboot.exe in C:\fastboot\)
- Get the ROM (.zip) you wanted to flash, because eventually you still want this ROM .
- Have the ROM (.zip) on your phone, so you can select it in the recovery for direct installing. I will tell you how you can put it on your phone anyways so it's not a big problem if you haven't done this yet.
Now let's get started:
- Open the .zip and extract the boot.img inside this file to C:\fastboot\.
- Start up your phone in bootloader (hold volume-down, press power button)
- Select "FASTBOOT" with the volume keys to go up and down, then press power to activate it.
- Plug in the USB cable into your computer and phone, this will make your phone say "FASTBOOT USB".
- Open up the directory C:\fastboot\. Hold shift and right-click in this folder (not on a file!). Select "Open command window here".
- Now type "fastboot flash boot boot.img". Now you should see "SUCCESS". Now type "fastboot erase cache".
- Go back to your phone, and select "HBOOT", after that select "RECOVERY".
- Once loaded in recovery, select the following things:
- "wipe data/factory reset";
- "advanced" -> "wipe dalvik cache";
- "mounts and storage" -> "format /system"
- Additional tip for placing ROM on your phone! Select "mounts and storage" -> "mount USB storage". Now you see that you can put files on your phone by your computer. So place the ROM you want to install somewhere you like to.
- Press "unmount" on your phone.
- Press "install zip from sdcard" -> "choose zip from sdcard" -> "directorytoyourrom/YOURROM.zip"
- Now reboot your phone, and see the magic happen!
Dude ... did you bother to read back the few posts ???
I did actually, and read carefully. But I guess not careful enough, please explain what I missed.
He said he could get into recovery. So my assumption is also that this is CWM 5.8.4.0, because the most recent toolkits got this versuib,
So that's where I started off from.
The only mistake I could have made is not thinking of his "i promise not to touch my phone again."
But he wanted to try, it 'failed' and got a little scared. This is no reason to reset everything to stock and never try again.
Plus the fact that he now knows how to get into recovery is already a big plus, so you won't actually have to start all over.
And
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't I clear enough to make it understandable for a 'noob'?
No its all about the amount of info ! Its one big post with to much info ! Let it go step by step as he stated he does not have a clue what he is doing, let him easy understand a small piece of text and get it working !
Part of your problem could be is that you have fastboot ticked you need to untick fastboot on your device and then you when you press volume down press power and hold both keys and you should boot right into boot loader with no problem

I understand, sorry for that.
I was also looking at the big picture: Maybe another 'noob' would pass by with the same problem, and wants to know how to do it too and might find it helpful.
But let's not go too far off topic.
I'll leave the specific help to you.

Hi all
I have a little trouble with my phone, because I did some stupid things on it...
I had android 2.3.5 with 3.12.405.1
So first I unlocked bootloader with htc-dev page, and now I know I shouldn't do that. Then after I found here a post what describes what should I do if I was noob and use the htc-dev. I followed the instructions so I can use the revolution hd zip and installed it.
After that reboot my phone and stucked on the htc boot logo. I can reach the 4text recovery menu and everything but I have no clue what should I do now. I tried the factory reset and everything what I found. Maybe I have to put back the original rom, but I don't know how to do it.

Hey
Thanks for the help, I'll try it afternoon
I did exactly the same: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31211732&postcount=396
The procedure to do that is -
1. Download the attached zip file, extract it to Desktop or wherever you want using 7-zip/WinZIP.
2. Open the ROM zip file you downloaded. Extract boot.img from this zip to the previously folder which you just extracted in the above step.
3. Turn your phone completely off (pull out battery). Then hold 'volume down' while pressing power and continue holding it till you see a white screen with 3 green skateboarding Androids. This is the bootloader.
4. FASTBOOT will be the first selected option in the list. Press 'Power' to select it. Make sure that now it shows FASTBOOT in red under the initial green text.
5. Connect your phone to computer. See that the red FASTBOOT changes to FASTBOOT USB.
4. Open the adb_fastboot folder, open 'Start here.bat'. It will open a command prompt window in that folder.
5. Type 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'. You only need to do this once. It will flash 4ext Touch Recovery, which is better than CWM (thanks to madmaxx82 for the awesome recovery).
6. Type 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'. You will need to do this everytime you flash a custom ROM, but before you do so be sure you've copied the boot.img from the ROM zip to the adb_fastboot folder.
7. You should see some stuff like 'Sending data... data sent successfully'. If there's any error at this step report it here.
8. Once it has done everything and displayed successful confirmations, disconnect phone.
9. Hightlight BOOTLOADER and press 'power' to select it. Press 'volume down' to highlight RECOVERY and 'power' to select it.
10. Once you're rebooted into 4ext Touch Recovery, go to 'install zip from SD card', browse for the ROM zip file in your SD card. If you haven't copied the zip to SD card, go back a step, connect phone to computer, select 'toggle USB storage' and then copy it onto the SD card. Once you have the ROM zip on the sdcard, go to the main screen of the recovery, choose 'wipe/format'->format all partitions (except SD card). Now go back to main screen, choose 'install zip from sdcard' and browse to the ROM zip location, select it and confirm that you want to flash it.
11. When the flash process is done, go back to the main screen of recovery, and press reboot now. You will reboot into the custom ROM.

After reboot I stucked on the htc boot logo screen.
If you are s-on, then you have to flash the boot.img from the rom you installed using fastboot.

I too have the same problem. Every time I turn my phone on it gets stuck on the Google logo for a bit then directs me to ClockworkMod Recovery and selecting "reboot system now" does not help either because I keep coming back to it. I can't even flash another image because it is on ClockworkMod Recovery and my running the fastboot command returns an error "device not found".
