Mind telling me how to unlock my bootloader? I have never done that and it's my problem. Is it necessary to backup my efcs if I don't have anything valuable?
You can unlock the bootloader with the FreeGee, also remember to backup the EFS.
To do the EFS bkp follow instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38438579&postcount=1

So just to double check I only need to be rooted to use freegee? It installs CWM itself?

Yes, rooted, install freegee,
and you can choose CWM or TWRP,
I use CWM previously, but now I'm using TWRP, CWM from freegee now isn't CWM Touch anymore.
you need to manually install CWM Touch (or probably I'm doing it wrong)
but now I'm quite satisfied with TWRP
Root KitKat LG G Pro or Any Device W/ TowelRoot
Its real folks, hacker Geohot created an apk file that claims to root any android device. I have personal tried this with my LG G Pro AT&T on KitKat 4.4.2 KOT49l.E98020g and I'm now rooted. Links Below
The method found on this form below allowed me to install clockwork mod recovery onto my device. From there I was able to download FreeGee from the play store to install Twrp Recovery.

Just did it on my E980. Installed Chainfire 1.99 for SuperUser, and then tried Titanium Backup to verify root. Everything is GOOD!
only issue was some confusion as to where the SU apk was stored. Roundly found it, and everything went smoothly!!!

When you've installed that recovery, download Freegee from the Play Store and install CWM 6.0.4.7. It can also backup your EFS partition.
Thanks

WOWZERS!

worked like a charm

got a small OTA package yesterday (about 89Mb). I unroot my phone and download the OTA. LG said the update package includes apps updates. After I've installed the update, I didn't see much difference (apart from the fact the the home launcher seems to be more fluid). But when i tried to root my phone using TowelRoot, it failed. ... so, please beware. if u don't want to loose your root, don't install the latest OTA update.

- Download G Pro Recovery and Freegee.
- Open G Pro Recovery and select the 'Flash Recovery' option at the of the menu.
- Then open Freegee and choose your recovery. (Probably not a bad idea to take advantage of the EFS backup there and transfer that backup off the phone for emergency purposes.)
Towelroot -> G Pro Recovery -> Freegee == works for me every time.

Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Thanks alot for your hardwork
It worked for me... I'm using E988 UAE firmware.
Method:
From 4.4.2 I downgraded to 4.1.2 and then I ROOTED and installed FreeGee TWRP recovery,
then installed Flashify and flashed the IMG.
I also tried the flashable zip but I keep getting "certification verify" on boot and finally, I decided to try the Flashify thingy..
After all day screwing my phone, softbricked it like 5 times, now its working with cm 11 installed and twrp 2.8.1.0
Thanks,
RECOVERING LG G PRO F240l(kor ver)
Everybody help me please. i tryed to install custom android to my cell phone and there was an eror. now my LG G PRO F 240l don`t work also i can`t go to download mode. how i can recover it?
Can this Twrp read external SD card?

would this work for me?im running on stock kitkat rom with cwm 6.0.4.7
Does FreeGee work on LGOG Pro Stock KitKat 4.4 version? I want to install TWRP Recovery.
Or should I try with Flashify?
What should I do??
Thanks!
Hey.. Ive reas various conflicting posts regarding this but the one that worked on my Ogp was installing the g pro recovery then installing the kitkat recovery which installs cwm touch then u download the modified twrp which is i think 2.8.0.1 and then install that using flashify. That should work.

I see. I read too, lots of softbrick experiences.
When u say "Installing the G Pro recovery", do u mean that? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...ecovery-boot-unlock-install-recovery-t3054295
Do u know about this new procedure that should make recovery work, even with Stock KK 4.4? Does it work?
Thank you!

The easiest method of installing TWRP is by using TWRP Manager...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jmz.soft.twrpmanager
I can overwrite the recovery (I have CWR) with TWRP Manager? No problem?
The software showme a windows with this "Something is wrong: FLashing recovery was unsucessfull. Either you already have this recovery installed or another has occurred. Would you like to attempt rebooting to recovery now?... It give me 2 options CANCEL and OK.
If you already have CWM (ClockworkMod recovery) installed, then installing TWRP after will just overwrite it. Normally that error pops up if you already have TWRP installed. Select OK, and let it reboot into recovery. Then post back w/ the results. Also make sure to select D851 as the phone model, and 2.8.7.0 as the version of TWRP to install.
