Are you on lollipop or kitkat? The last time i heard Freegee doesn't work on Kitkat and Lollipop.
It works on only jelly bean.

my phone is F180K
I rooted it when it was on F180K20o, unlock bootloader with Freegee, and choose CWM to flash.
then I got in CWM to flash a CM11 nightly followed by Gapps.
It looks well but I cant use something like Titaniumbackup which require root. Tried a few root check apps and they said I am not rooted.
Why would that happen and how to fix it pls?

Don't do it! TWRP from FreeGee already comes Lokified for the LG G Pro, TWRP does not officially supports the Optimus G Pro so it won't even be able to find the correct recovery for you. Use FreeGee and you should be OK.

I have a sasktel E-973 running JB 4.1.2, I am rooted using the framaroot method. I installed FreeGee and busybox and am wondering if I am ready to install CWM through freegee. I have bricked my phone 3 times attempting this... And I want to make sure I won't eff it up again
Edit: Got my phone how I want it. CM 11 is installing and I got CWM for freegee, thanks for the help!

Mind telling me how to unlock my bootloader? I have never done that and it's my problem. Is it necessary to backup my efcs if I don't have anything valuable?
You can unlock the bootloader with the FreeGee, also remember to backup the EFS.
To do the EFS bkp follow instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38438579&postcount=1

So just to double check I only need to be rooted to use freegee? It installs CWM itself?

Yes, rooted, install freegee,
and you can choose CWM or TWRP,
I use CWM previously, but now I'm using TWRP, CWM from freegee now isn't CWM Touch anymore.
you need to manually install CWM Touch (or probably I'm doing it wrong)
but now I'm quite satisfied with TWRP
I've read some threads on how to flash a custom recovery, but they say that you need to downgrade to KitKat before you can flash a recovery. Is there any other way around? Like, to just flash it, without downgrading. Link to a working guide will be just fine, I just couldn't find anything.
I guess I need an unlocked bootloader in order to flash a custom recovery. How do I check if my bootloader is unlocked, and if it isn't, how do I unlock it? I'm rooted already, does that mean it's unlocked?

Hi,
First you must be root with the @avicohh script : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
Then use autorec from @bender_007 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/apk-flash-twrp-autorec-thanks-to-t3081396
With the D855 you have to downgrade to KitKat the aboot and laf, have bump boot and twrp recovery. Autorec do all these

I opted for autorec. It said that the flash was successful, but then the phone booted into the stock recovery asking for a factory reset. What do I do?

Ok you use I think you use the combination of buttons Power and VOL- and you have to answer Yes at the 2 questions.
Or use the bender_007 widget : https://www.dropbox.com/s/9gox6ga7n7...eboot.apk?dl=0
Or Holo rebbot for example : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scartech.holoreboot
I have already tried freegee many times, but it never works. Is there any working method for my phone model? Pls help.
Or if anyone has the latest twrp for my phone in a flashable zip format, that would be great.
Freegee dies not work on KitKat stock rom. Are you on kitkat? Look up on xda soecifically for rooting kitkat rom. To unlock bootloader you need to install og pro recovery apk. Again Google for that. Once tgat is done you can flash twrp via flashify. Let me know if you need more info. My info is based on my experiments with my lg e988. Btw what rom do you want to try? For me all AOSP lollipop roms did not work well.

I've already installed CWM recovery and now running CM12.1 , But I still can't figure out how to unlock bootloader, when I try to use CM's advanced boot to boot into BL, all it does is normally boot up my phone.

E980 doesn't have a bootloader unlock, just bypass with Loki. If you need fully unlocked bootloader, well, bother LG.
