Hi every one, I am trying to connect one USB Wifi adapter to my Xperia S since the internal WiFi of the phone is not working. I bught a nano usb wifi adaptor whcih has a support of Android USB.
Now when i try to connect the device using an OTG cable, i get the Power consumption error. I tried to change the value of bConfigurationValue but could not do so. "File Cannot be saved" is what i get when i try saving the file with value "1". Below is the link for solution of power consumption error.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586313
Can anyone please help me with this thing. If there is any app or any other method to avoid this error and get the device to working. I know that Powered USB hub can do the work but i need better solution.
Thanks.

I tried USB Hub. But the device does not get detected. Not even power consumption error appears. when connecting PD directly with OTG. Works perfectly. But with WiFi adapter i get the error.
Can you provide me link with any Custom ROM which has fix for broken WiFi module AND camera problem. My phone has a lot of issues.
WiFi not working
"Camera not available" error
Accelerometer not working
And phone restarts sometimes.
If you got any info with this then please provide a link.
Thanks

I connect it to PC using usb cable and all I see is that the phone is charging and there is NO USB mount option in the notification bar.
I re-installed kies about 5 times but no luck. I updated it to the latest version but still no luck.
Please help me out,
Hi Sir....
Have you try "wipe cache" or temporary files in your Computer (ex: with CCleaner) ?
And try to disable User Account Control too
I am also using Windows 7 with no problem when installing the Kies Software

yup...definetely worth to try. you may also reconsider to change your cable data since it could be the source of the problem.

yes.. the samsung original cable that is supplied with the phone has problems with me.. i used a BB cable data and it works well.. you might giving it a try..
and make sure that you r using stock rom cause kies wont recognize your device if you r on a custom rom....
Thanks for such a quick response guys.
I wiped cache with ccleaner and did a complete PC scan too. No luck.
I tried other USB ports too. Now im gonna try BB cable, cause I doubt my cable hardware now.
Thanks all.
Solved.
Just as the title says, I've tried to get into download mode by pressing the up volume key while plugging in the cable, also tried using one of the root kits that are given to have them put me into download mode but even they cannot get me to it, just gives me an error or telling me to get into download mode manually but of course i can't do that. Can anyone shed and light on this situation?
Try connecting the USB cable to a different port. Sometimes connecting the cable to a USB 3.0 port causes issues, so try connecting to a USB 2.0 port if possible.

For MTP you just need a normal USB cable not OTG.

So, I can boot my phone into fastboot but as soons as I send a command the phone disconnects from the computer and I can read "Press any key to shutdown" on the phone. Any suggestions?
Best regards
EDIT:
Issue solved, just connect the phone directly to the MoBo aka the rear IO and be sure to connect it to a USB 2.0 port, appearently 3.0 or after ports won't work.

Use the ports on the back of your computer. If you have a laptop it's not applicable. Always try to use a USB2.0 ports, they work better.
If your PC has a Ryzen CPU you'll need to use a USB hub, otherwise fastboot commands won't work properly.
I have laptop only ......... I already uses all 2.0 ports...... Bt I faces same problem.....btw I tell uh one thing I have used this laptop for fastboot before but this time I faces this error..... In previously my fastboot process very smoothly with no error with same phone bt this time my laptop sucks
If uh hv any idea then please help me
Did you try with an usb 2.0 hub?
In my laptop I tried all my 2.0 ports but it doesn't work......thn I tried in different laptop it's work flawlessly .....nd I fix my problem......btw thankew

Your problem seems simular to what I had.
If you are sure the software settings are ok and that doesnt work, remove the backcover remove the battery connector, put it back again and see if that works. Does charging work?

Thats weird my s2 tablet has USb problems to. It stopped reading OTG usb connections and the PC. However it is always able to charge. I have noticed that when it does finally read on the PC it seems like the drives dont switch right and my battery wont charge. It got to the point I dont even try to plug it into a pc or USB otg just incase it quits charging I have SD card and twrp for installs so I use that instead. Most be a problem with the usb port and drivers.

I dont know the answer nor the solution.
What I noticed however is that I used my tablet as an monitor for an USB web cam.
The problem (charging but not being able to connect to PC) started AFTER I removed the webcam.
The app I use (USB Camera Pro) has an option "remove camera safely"
If I use that option everything works fine but if I remove the cam cable without pressing this option I cant connect to my PC anymore and have to unplug the battery.
I am having a similar issue and would be grateful for help. My Tab T815 has a clean install of the latest Android 10 Rom and Pico Gapps via TWRP 3.4. All seem to be working great apart from the USB OTG. Specifically, I am trying to connect my DJI Mini drone controller and it's not registering it plugged in. I also have Android 10 on a galaxy S5 and have no issues at all when I connect the DJI controller to the phone. I have run a diagnostic app that says OTG is compatible with the T815 so am now at a loss on what to try next. Could this be an issue with the Rom?
