Here is the link on the only way to get a 4.3 rooted phone if you have a locked bootloader.

Which ROM were you running? The generic Sony 4.2.2 or the one from your carrier.
I just checked my phone against SUS and PC Companion and they are both telling me that my 67 build is the latest firmware. 4.3 still hasn't been pushed for the C6506.

And some tweks.
I already knew that Sony did upgrade to Android 4.1 JB, but my sony companion keeps telling me that I have the updated system.
What can I do to get the latest version?
I have to do the factory reset?
Is there another way to get the latest update?
Will I lose root and CWM?

Updating a rooted phone 4.2.2

Hello guys,
Just have a quick question I am on stock sony android 4.2.2 rooted with a locked bootloader,
I was wondering now that 4.3 is out and I use flash tool to flash the new 4.3 would that cause any issues? I know I would lose my root (is there any way to save it) or can i just flash the new update with no issues.

If you flash the FTF using flashtool it will wipe the phone completely and obviously root will be gone. AFAIK the only way to root 4.3 right now is with an unlocked bootloader. You may want to try to update without wiping, it might preserve root. The update still hasn't rolled for the C6506 so I'm unable to try anything.

There are several threads about rooting your device. Just using a root tool will not work on 4.3.
Xperia ZL, 4.2.2 Stock (.67), rooted

Sorry, all custom rom need an unlocked bootloader device to work. But you still can try older mod for 4.3
