As title says, I tried to root my Xperia ZL with unlocked BL, C6502, 4.3 JB, 10.4.B.0.569, KERNEL 3.4.0-G1B44CD5
Help? :/ This is frustrating :crying:

There are several threads about rooting your device. Just using a root tool will not work on 4.3.
Xperia ZL, 4.2.2 Stock (.67), rooted

Does anyone have Android 2.3.3 for the Neo, if you have a flashed and rooted 2.3.2 and update it OTA to 2.3.3, your phone is bricked. I already have NEO-GLOBAL-3.0.A.2.181.ftf
Just use Wotanserver, it's free for now and works perfectly (did it myself a few days ago).
I will try to root my phone tomorrow. Have been busy all day rooting and unlocking the bootloader, but after flashing stuff 8 times or whatever, I ended up again with unrooted and relocked phone and again 2.3.3. Even bricked it sort of (only flashing worked), so I've learned a lot.
But I will NOT re-unlock the bootloader, only rooting. Does that really require flashing 2.3.2 (.181)?
@sdk16420,
Yes, you will still need to flash 2.3.2 if you want to root your phone using Gingerbreak.

In that case, this thread can be removed, also as mentioned before 2.3.3 is available at WotanServer...
Pardon my lack of knowledge in rooting and stuff. This is my first android phone Lt15i. I read many tutorials regarding rooting but all I got an idea was that rooting can be done when the Android version is 4.0.3.
I recently updated the phone to 4.0.4 Fw 4.1.B.0.431 via PC Companion. Now I don't understand how can I root my device and I need an app badly which only works with a rooted device. A nice simple step wise method would be appreciated.
thanks in advance
Also the bootloader is locked
Like you mentioned, there are already threads which tell you how to root your phone.
Go read OverLo4d's thread in the General section. The steps are clearly given there.
But in short, what you need is the 4.0.3 kernel. Flash it with Flashtool. Root your phone with DooMLorD's rooting toolkit and then flash the 4.0.4 kernel back.
Swyped from my SE Xperia arc (LT15i) using Tapatalk 2
currently my arc is gingerbreak and rooted..my question is can i direct flash ics custom rom or need to update to official ics first and then rooted again after that then custom rom..i'm so confuse rite now..
Flash a Stock ICS ftf first, root, then install a custom and you're good to go. Read the stickys.

Install a kernel with CWM.
I just want to know is there anyone who is working on rooting jellybean on xperia ion except flashing a pre rooted firmware?
EDIT : ANY UPDATE FOR MIUI V5 FOR LOCKED BOOTLOADER ...
I would even be ok with pre rooted firmware if i could just find one to flash but all i can find are tutorials on making one which require a unlocked bootloader but i cant unlock mine.

Aside from the root tool in the previous post, spectre made a pre rooted firmware flashable through cwm, but it was kinda tricky to flash(you needed rooted ICS with CWM then you flash rooted JB firm then flash JB kernel from JB ftf file with flashtool). The pre rooted firm is in the development section under pre rooted firms.

Here is the link on the only way to get a 4.3 rooted phone if you have a locked bootloader.

Which ROM were you running? The generic Sony 4.2.2 or the one from your carrier.
I just checked my phone against SUS and PC Companion and they are both telling me that my 67 build is the latest firmware. 4.3 still hasn't been pushed for the C6506.
