Bricked? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Default Busted...any help??
Sorry to bother, I was trying to upgrade a ROM on my Epic, and boinked up. I can get to recovery and ODIN, but I can't flash anything (fails or hangs).
I tried to use Mobile ODIN to switch to the EL29 kernel for flashing, and that's where trouble started. Stuck at the Samsung SII screen. Can get to ODIN and recovery, but on click ROMs outright fail, and the full tar files just hang at "factoryfs.img",
Can anyone help me get back up and running again? I don't care which version or kernel, I'm done with flashing.
Sorry and thanks

Okay, I managed to lose and regain (through flashing) CWM recovery...I flashed a .zip ROM, and it said it was successful...but on reboot it hangs on the "Samsung Galaxy SII" screen, with the yellow triangle...any ideas?
Sorry to be such a n00b (you'd think being a member here since 2007 would have taught me something)...
Thanks all

Then you should be able to just flash a ROM

Im also new to this, but try using odin v3.09 , make sure ONLY "Auto reboot" and F. Reset Time is ticked NOTHING ELSE. then head over to SAMMOBILE and get your firmware there. Click on the AP button and browse to the firmware file you downloaded, make sure that you unzipped the archive.

something i've ran into before on other devices - if you came from a custom rom/custom recovery, you may need to reinstall a custom recovery, clear cache and dalvik, *THEN* ODIN the stock rom
it was for other samsungs, but may be relevant here.

soft brick help GS6 edge t-mobile

so i successfully rooted it using the cfautoroot. I installed TWRP. was all good, tried to install a rom from this site that said it was debloated. It said it would take a while to reboot and not to mess with it so i left it on the charger and went to bed. woke up 9 hours later and it still was on the same samsung screen, it doesnt boot loop it just hangs. I downloaded the stock md5 tarball from SamMobile unzipped it and loaded it into odin (drivers are already installed and recognized by odin.) Went to flash it the same way i did CFAutoroot and it keeps failing.

Help with returning to stock firmware.

Sprint note 4. I"m on Lineage os 16. I lost all my backup files concerning twrp and stock backups. I'd like to return this device back to a stock sprint firmware to sell it on. I"ve downloaded Odin3 v3.12.4_4 and a stock .tar " Odin flashable N910PVPS4DQB3_N910PSPT4DQB3_N910PVPS4DQB3 " and it fails promptly. I"m assuming this is because I can't go backwards or down in versions. Am I stuck or is there something I have not been able to find that will enable me to go back to a stock sprint rom. Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.
