Im also new to this, but try using odin v3.09 , make sure ONLY "Auto reboot" and F. Reset Time is ticked NOTHING ELSE. then head over to SAMMOBILE and get your firmware there. Click on the AP button and browse to the firmware file you downloaded, make sure that you unzipped the archive.

something i've ran into before on other devices - if you came from a custom rom/custom recovery, you may need to reinstall a custom recovery, clear cache and dalvik, *THEN* ODIN the stock rom
it was for other samsungs, but may be relevant here.

Default Busted...any help?? Sorry to bother, I was trying to upgrade a ROM on my Epic, and boinked up. I can get to recovery and ODIN, but I can't flash anything (fails or hangs). I tried to use Mobile ODIN to switch to the EL29 kernel for flashing, and that's where trouble started. Stuck at the Samsung SII screen. Can get to ODIN and recovery, but on click ROMs outright fail, and the full tar files just hang at "factoryfs.img", Can anyone help me get back up and running again? I don't care which version or kernel, I'm done with flashing. Sorry and thanks From one click: <ID:0/007> Added!! <OSM> Enter CS for MD5.. <OSM> Check MD5.. [Q] Odin flash fails every time
Hey guys, my GT-N7100 won't boot anymore. I tried to flash a rom with Odin on Windows coming from Cyanogenmod 4.4. Now it won't boot and the only screens I can get are the Kies recovery, and Download mode. Every time I try to flash with Odin it fails when it is busy with [system.img]. I have tried multiple versions of Odin and multiple software versions. This is the latest I tried: http://androidcentral.us/2014/04/ho...-2-gt-n7100-to-official-android-4-4-2-kitkat/ this is what Odin does: <ID:0/004> Added!! <OSM> Enter CS for MD5.. <OSM> Check MD5.. Maybe it has something to do with downgrading from 4.4?
I believe I just bricked my phone.
So, I am really new to this stuff. I know you're going to be like oh thats another newbie. But I really appreciate any help. I was trying to downgrade my phone (SM-N910A) software back to Kit Kat 4.4.4, and I researched some threads and watched videos. I ended up downloading ODIN 3.10 and factory firmware that this fella posted on this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...ble-tested-t2915915/post56230799#post56230799) So I open odin and choose the firmware from AP section. And I get the below fail message from odin. And of course I cant boot my phone because it says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue." So i really dont know where to go now... We're you on OC5 or higher? If so you can't downgrade from that point and it will end up in a brick, there's plenty of threads on here with the same problem the only fix is to take it to att or warranty it

This is common when you flash a firmware not for your region. Easy fix, just boot to recovery and wipe cache then reboot. Everything should be fine after that.
