[Q] J5 Android Mirror JUC600 with Nexus 4.4.2 Rom - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I bought a JUC600 Android Mirror and it crashes everytime I run it. I believe this is because I have a custom Rom, Slim Kat. Has anyone been able to use this with a custom rom or do I have to go back to stock to use it?

I recommend to go back to stock, but back up your current ROM datas first either with TB (Titanium Backup) or NanDroid Backup because I dont think it runs on custom ROMs. :cyclops:
I also want to ask you.. What is your thoughts about the SlimKat ROM is it good? Any glitches?

Went back to stock 4.2.2 and I cannot deal. Going back to Slim Kat. There are glitches, but they are well worth it.

You could of went to the android sub forums and searched. You don't need to unroot your phone. Just flash which everyone you choose.

I also have tried custom ROMS and now back in Stock ROM
If you have ROM Manager installed, then you can easily recover your original stock rom (remain rooted). But this is the case where you already made a Nandroid Back up before flashing Custom ROM.
If you cannot go that way, You can try flashing the full stock ROM (RUU Files, not PC10IMG). I never tried this, but what I understand from the threads I read, It will unroot your device. You might have to re-root again later (if you want to)
Cheers..
Ha ironically I recently made the same move. Rooted/stock, got tired of the little annoyances. Vanilla wins for me right now.

Ditto that. Too many issues with either CM7 or HTC Sense based ROMs. I really enjoyed using Virtuous for a long time, but having random hard reboots in version 1.0.2 pushed me away from it and back to stock (with root). Everything works, and that's what is most important to me.

stock recovery flash?

Its been a while since I've been here at xda,
Mostly because I don't have time but I have a rooted note 2 with aokp.
Anyways I'm tired of not being updated so I need to flash stock recovery but I can't seem to find it.
Can any one aid in my quest?
Thanks

Do you want to go back to completely stock rom and recovery? With also the option to maintain ROOT?
If so see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086769

Then I would stick with the stock rom and flash the zip found in that thread. It will revert your phone completely back to MC2 stock and reset your flash counters back to 0. Youll be prompted and asked if you want to keep SU# as well. I went back to that as well. Stock with root was good enough for me and didn't have the need for all the extra bells and whistles and going flash crazy to keep up with everyone's rom bug fixes.

Yeah I found that stock rooted is fine.
I always hated touchwiz. But this phone works so well with it that I feel like I take a step back whenever I run AOSP.

I hear you. Touchwiz grew on me though coming from HTC sense which people hated as well. At least the above method will bring you back to the base stock. Make sure you backup what you want and need to an external SD card though as it will completely wipe the phones internal storage.
Hope this helps. Have a good afternoon!

[Q] Sprint GS3 - Unroot to stock 4.3?

So a couple of days ago I got a GS3 running the OTA stock 4.3. I wasn't sure if I wanted to use it because I find Touch Wiz kind of clunky. So I decided I would try out Cyanogenmod. I installed it via their new handy installer (as the sprint GS3 is one of the compatible devices). All went well and I got Cyanogenmod 10.2 running smoothly. Now I want to activate the device, but apparently you can't activate a rooted device on sprint. So now i need to get it back to stock 4.3 and I can only seem to find solutions to his problem for devices that have not gotten the 4.3 OTA update and are still running 4.1.2. On the Cyanogenmod installer guide says:
You may perform a full backup from recovery, after flashing recovery (you will have to do this manually, at the moment) and then copy it off the device, if you don't have an external sdcard. If you've already run the installer, you will have to find stock images and flash them using fastboot or Odin.

My problem Is I can't locate any stock 4.3 images with which to try this. If I can get my hands on a stock 4.3 image, would the process be just going into the bootloader and using Odin to flash the 4.3 image?
Can anyone help me out?
You only need to be on a stock tw rom, even if you are rooted it should activate. There are a couple in the development section.

I see, do you know of any any good 4.3 based tw roms? All the ones I'm finding are based on 4.1. Also, do I need to do anything special to flash from Cyanogenmod 10.2 to a touchwiz rom (as Cyanogenmod is AOSP)? I already have ClockworkMod recovery installed.
Nothing special, flash like anything else

Flash Philz Touch from here via Odin (use the tar version in PDA): http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/d2att
alright i did it through odin and it worked..now im gonna make a backup again and try flashing a rom. hope it works. thanks for the help
If you can't flash a KK ROM, you may need to update your bootloader. If you're not on a 4.3 bootloader, try and avoid it for now.

There is a 4.3 bootloader that would be installed if you ran an OTA update to 4.3 or you manually installed the 4.3 bootloader.
Did you make your backup using Philz? If not, make the backup using Philz, then wipe and install.

Doesn't really matter but it's good to know that you need to stay away from any attempts to downgrade the bootloader.
hahah why would i want to downgrade?

You can't restore to a completely stock ROM not that you have a 4.3 bootloader. AT&T never released a full 4.3 stock ROM, only an update to 4.3 from an earlier stock ROM.
If you did not have a 4.3 bootloader, you could install any stock AT&T ROM such as 4.1.1. Being able to restore to stock 4.1.1 would also allow you to sim unlock your phone for free, if necessary.

well im on rogers and its the same as att. i still have the original samsung touchwiz 4.1 rom just incase anything happens.
Your original post said you have an sgh-i747 which is an AT&T model. If you have a Rogers s3, it's an sgh-i747m.
Regardless of which model you have, you can't downgrade from any 4.3 bootloader which means you can't completely revert back to 4.1.1. The best you could do would be to run 4.1.1 on a 4.3 bootloader.

sorry i should have included the m lol. i wont worry about going back to 4.1 until the galaxy s5 comes out and im ready to give it to my dad. but back to focusing on this. im about to attempt to flash a 4.4.2 rom. either liquidsmooth or carbon. what do you like?
I prefer Validus version 4.3 because it includes Nova Launcher and it has a dark UI theme.
but thats 4.3. i wanna be on 4.4 and im installing nova and making it the way i had it before.
wait a second is it a 4.4 rom?

It is a 4.4.2-based rom. The release is version 4.3.
hmm interesting...you do recommend it? what great features does it come with?
I like it because it's a very stripped-down ROM, has a dark UI, and is AOSP-based.
It's not radically different from other ROMs but has exactly what I want. I run the same ROM on a Nexus 4 and Motorola Atrix HD.

[Q] Jelly Bean to Lollipop?

I'm running rooted stock 4.3 N900TUVUBMI7.
It was flashed back in December 2013 since that was the only way to accomplish root.
I had no interest in KitKat but do want the official Lollipop.
Because I'm rooted I'm unable to even download and successfully install the KitKat update.
Is there a way to update my 4.3 Jelly Bean to the latest official 5.? Lollipop?
If so, how? Can it be upgraded or will it need to be flashed fresh?
If it is a fresh flash, can I just download the official lollipop and flash with odin?
Already have my apps backed up, so it's not the end of the world if I lose them.
TIA!

There is a great thread that was started by TEKHD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672393
He walks you through using ODIN to take 4.x.x firmware to 5.0 stock, then additional steps to root, add a TWRP custom recovery (needed to flash a custom ROM), and a few additional things. The link he posts for the actual stock firmware is from sammobile which is a great site but the download speeds are abysmal if you aren't a premium member. Here is a media fire link that I used: http://www.mediafire.com/download/cuoz62g1ca6id9t
Have fun! Btw it is recommended to wipe your device, but I decided not to do that to test if it would work (I had a full nandroid and EFS back up just in case) Stock lollipop upgraded flawlessly and I kept all my apps contacts etc etc... Now im waiting on a decent 5.0 non Touchwiz ROM. I've been using ECHOE ROM which is made for n9005 and is a TW but works with t-mobile as long as you flash a wifi fix. I like Filchis wifi fix. The ROM itself is buttery smooth but im hoping CM12.1 will be awesome with 5.1 lollipop

Thanks for the reply, thread worked perfectly.
Did flash as just an upgrade but it broke my messages. Wiped it and started fresh, no issues so far.
Thanks again!
