How to root C6502 with 10.4.B.0.569?
NOTE:With locked bootloader and without unlocking it)
Until now, there's no way to do that.
But you can unlock and then relock after rooting..

Which method did you use to root?
And was your BL locked (not unlockable) to begin with?
Thanks

i unlocked my bootloader flashed a custom kernel then a superSU.zip; later flashed the stock kernel... and done that is
if you bootloader is unlockable u must wait while develpers from here create a way to root with your status...
cheers...
I am quite happy that no one managed to root unlockable phones. The only way to do that is to exploit a security hole. And if xda-devs can make use of it, people with bad intention maybe also could exploit a security weakness, for example by spreading modified apps in the play store.
So it's quite logical that all phone manufacturers try to keep the unlockable bootloader unlockable, except for their way to unlock it.
Thats why I don't buy phones from a carrier.

I didn't buy my phone from a carrier because I wanted to get root and modify some things.
It's a pity that carriera are getting special firmware versions. Locked bootloader scares off many users, and many different firmwares slow down the update process for a new android version.

I have a c6505 with a locked bl, that cant be unlocked. I had 4.2 rooted via doomlords method, changed the build using build prop to update via companion to 4.3 journalists build. I lost root with the upgrade and am missing it alot .. Just wondering how kingo root method differs from doomlords method. Just wondering if rolling back to 4.2 journalists build try this kingo method that the other member used, and try update through companion again. How does ota differ from companion update?
Ota only updates certain system files, pc companion completely deletes system and writes it new.

Sup Guys!!
I'm with the same problem, ZL version with 10.4.B.0.569 (4.3), and wanting to root!!
There are some posts saying to just downgrade root then upgrade, some says the same but talks about "TA backup" and without it some phone funcions such as Bravia Engine stops work, and there's even the locked/unlockable boodloader.
How do i know which one of those is my boodloader ??
How do i make my "TA backup"?? What heapens if I don't do'it???
Why root?? There are a lot of bloatware that i can't remove and access some system files (restore data backup from some apps)
Sorry about the extensive post, but I'm new in Xperia "world"... Always used Samsung Cellphones (S -> S2 -> S3).
Unlocking your bootloader allows you to flash different kernels. On phones provided by carriers bootloader iften is locked, so you can't install a new kernel. Unfortunately, recovery is stored in the same partition, so installing a recovery doesn't work that easy with stock kernel. But NUT has developed a dual recovery that also seems to work with locked bootloader:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567266
You can check if you can unlock your bootloader by dialing
*#*#service#*#*
in your dialing app. Service menu will open. Navigate to service info - configuration. There you can see if you can unlock your bootloader.
If you can do that, check out this thread before unlocking:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
With this tool you can save your TA partition, on whick your DRM keys arw stored. If you choose to lock your bootloader again, you can.use it to restore TA, so the bravia engine will work again.
Edit: you might want to check this, it's a good guide to get started:

Guys,
I have a Xperia LT15i with Locked Bootloader which is rooted and currently on .42 firmware.
With the new official Sony ICS update release, i'd want to move to stock ICS with latest firmware, can anyone please guide me how do i do it ??
Do I update using PC Companion or can it be done OTA ?
Also, once i update to stock firmware and stock ICS, is it still possible to root my device and keep the bootloader locked ???
I need the right advice, i am scared and dont want to end up with a bricked device...PLEASE HELPP
EDIT: I know there are lot of threads on the forum, but I am not an expert and scared to cater to this update and lose my beloved phone ...
if some one can just guide me with a step by step process, it will help a lot, it's a sincere request..!!
First of all, you can indeed upgrade!
ICS is not available through OTA, so you should go only by PCC for now.. But check if PCC shows that the update is available, because the update is available for only selective SI nos (to check your SI no remove your batrery and look in the sticker below the battery on your phone).. If PCC shows the update, then no problem!
If not, try downloading the ICS ftf file and flash using flashtool..
And for your last question, yes you can indeed root with a locked bootloader.. I'll post you the link below

Thanks a lot prasad for the reply, I found my SI number in the update list yesterday on the sony blog post.
For the rooting process, is there a better explained tutorial ? The link that you have referred is good but lot of things are just to be assumed
There is a link to the sony blog with a similar tutorial but I am not able to locate it, can you help me find it please ?
I am a newbie to this but I decided to root my HTC one X so I could use the PS3 Controller to play emulated games. Which went fine or so I thought until I realised every time I open up any kind of game or video my phone would freeze and restart. I used the 'InsecureBootAndRoot r3' method to do this I since read this only works on 1.27 versions of the phone and mine is 1.29! I have tried to do a RUU to get my phone to how it was. However I think you can only use a RUU if you install a newer rom then you already have. The CID will block any roms not on the same network or older. my phone is Orange UK has the newest Rom out I think im going have to wait a long time before that rom is uploaded onto the internet. My phone has rom 1.29.061.11 . The only solution I can see is to wait for this to be uploaded onto the internet. Or maybe you guys will know a way to reverse the insecurebootand root? I have uninstalled super user and it still doesnt work. Also can someone please tell me if my bootloader needs to be locked when I flash with a RUU?
hi..cant we play ps3 games like that without rooting my htc one x because i did to my htc sensation but i cant go back now..
Was that the file from Modaco? It won't provide root it never worked. Paul o brien made it. There was a warning that you might have to use a ruu on your device. You can try a ruu I'm not sure if the hboot was updated with the newest update. If it was you are a bit stuck unless you took it into an orange store and said it happened on its own

Yes it does. See this thread.
Shouldn't of used that dude.
Oops.
All you can do is wait for the Ruu to be released...
Or, try and unlock your bootloader through HTC Dev.. Then flash a recovery and stock boot.img, may also need to flash a custom ROM too depending on what the file you flashed changes in the system partition.
You've tried a full data wipe through bootloader?
If non of the above, try and pm Paul at Modaco to see if it's reversible.
Thanks for the help. The OP is my brother btw.

As long as you are s-off or unlocked the bootloader through htc-dev.. do that flash a recovery, then flash stock boot.img.
If that don't work, flash rdhd ROM or villain ROM etc, they are close to stock.
it can

I've been running this since I published it in Dec. No lost.dir files or missing files at the top of any of the file systems. It's exactly the stock OTA except for the files that create the stock recovery on boot. The rooted versions add all the SuperSU files plus busybox and fix xattrs related to SELinux on /data to match stock settings.
Make a backup of your 4.1.2 setup via custom recovery first, then you can revert. You may need to update your recovery version to flash this firmware. See OP for links.
Well had that lost dir issue with this too...hmm I wonder if my card slot has gotten loose

New to the Note 2 family. Wanted to flash the rooted version through Odin but ended up with a SIU error problem, so went back and flashed the stock version and the device works...
I really want a deodexed and rooted note 2 so I can put TWRP and flash ROMs and make recovery backups.
But with the way my note 2 is atm, Kies won't accept it due to having some "unsupportable version" error through kies pre-flashing this rom.
This actually saved me from having to ship my device back because Kies tried to update when I used it, and ended up not being able to emergency recover it.. flashing the Odin stock saved me from having a paperweight.
Is there a way to make a "stock" backup, or do I need to find out how to make the rooted version of this work and download TWRP and backup that way?
Sorry if my typing is a jumbled mess, kind of excited to get back into the XDA community and it's hard to understand rooting and flashing roms on the newer devices. (started XDA with the Captivate Glide community)

"I have a note 2 android 4.1.2 with root stock only. Can i install directly from the AT&T odin UCUCNJ1 i317 Stock ODIN Note 2 or have to upgrade to 4.3 first?"
Good question. These packages are built from OTA updates applied to the closest previous version. I have not pulled a 4.1.2 to NJ1 OTA progression to see if a 4.3 intermediary flash takes place.
That said, you should be fine with a single install of NJ1. if you are cautious, make backups via custom recovery first. If you prefer to take a conservative approach you can flash MK6 (4.3), boot once and then flash NJ1.
Pues aproveche descargue y actualize directamente del 4.1.2 al 4.4.2 por odin y todo funcionando a la perfección, no he encontrado ningún bug y todo funcional. Gracias por los consejos

Join the club! At this time, you can only have a working recovery on stock LP if your BL is unlocked, and the install steps are rather convoluted (serajr described them in details in another thread). If you have a locked BL, you are out of luck until either [NUT] makes his XZDR working (the issue has been discussed in his thread, and he's aware of it), or some other solution is available...
BTW, I think you meant 5.0.2 (unless you got a brand new update that nobody is aware of)...
P.S.: Actually, I misread serajr's post, sorry... Looks like the recovery on LP is not available even for the unlocked BL. He was only describing the Xposed installation steps, where you use TWRP in the process, but you end up without recovery, anyway...
