So you successfully rooted the Round? Was that with Android 4.3 or 4.42. I've been looking for a way to root mine which I bought from a shonk who claimed it could be rooted until he tried and failed when I sent it back
do you mind sharing the procedure?

1. I was using Root De La Vega Method(MJ2 firmware, 4.3).
2. As alternative, you may try CF-Autoroot meant for Note 3 sm-n900s (Korean SK-Telecom).
Hi, I have a galaxy round with kitkat on it, but i want to upgrade to lollipop, is that possible?!
Can i install another firmware/rom on it, like for the note 3?

Hey guys, not sure if you have heard much about SmartDroid by me and @ricky310711 but we are looking to expand our development and build for the Note 2, however we dont have the Note 2! We can however still port with a tester, so if someone would like to help let me know!

on new bootloader, you can use stock kernel with wifi working.
Otherwise, if still on old bootloader (4.1.2), have to use custom kernel (devil & agni at the moment).
But with new bootloader, it will come with KNOX issue, which I believe so far I read, none of the solution apply for N7105 LTE once it is tripped.
I'm still on the old bootloader. Easier for me to flash back 4.1.2 if needed or to get back to status normal to claim warranty. hahaha.
as for note 3.... To be frank, I haven't done anything yet. Still on its original stock + kernel, no root.
It is on MJ7, and not yet find a good way to root it.

as for Note 3, I guess I m doomed as I have upgraded to MJ7, which I read using Root De La Vega will trip the KNOX as well on this version of firmware. hahaha.
And CF root also the same.
Guess if I want to root I have to live with that damn tripping KNOX

or just wait for a fixed release of root de la vega?
Yeah. Still considering though whether to root or not. Coz earlier I upgraded first to mj7, then after that came across root de la vega.
Now my toy is only N7105 at the moment.

Hi @ricky310711 and @SkywalkerZ,
I have been following the SmartDroid / Revolutionary S5 ROM in the Galaxy S3 development. Good work from the dev and I see that there is a large following.
Any plans with a similar development to Note 2 community?
Tester?
I am in the mood for testing, if it is android 4.4.2
A little bit late I suppose...
N7100, NB2 bootloader, rooted running XXUFNC2 4.4.2 Leak-based Rom.
Hi
If I just want to root my P605, what's the best way? Will this allow me to get rid of a lot of the Samsung bloatware?
What is the best way to remove all apps, is there a list anywhere which details what can be got rid of?
Also will this 100% trip Knox?
Thanks
Andy

You should be able to root it without triggering the Knox-flag. I didn't tried it yet, so I can't give you any more information on this topic.
But, you have to be careful while you're getting rid of "all" apps (system apps in particular), because afaik some of them will trigger the flag.
Rooted and knox tripped .

Unless you have been living under a rock and haven't upgraded your firmware from the very 1st generation of Note 10.1 2014 tabs you will most DEFINITELY trip Knox... There is no safe way anymore...
This is true of all Samsung phones that have Knox in the phone natively from the start....

I only really used to lurk the forums, but I've seen a lot of conflicting threads with regards to rooting/downgrading methods for this particular model which is why I'm asking here today:
My understanding is that KNOX itself will trip when rooting occurs and voids the warranty, and that it also blocks bootloading(?)
I made the mistake of updating to 4.3 a while back and I've regretted it ever since, and now that there's an OFW update to 4.4.2 (I'd rather not update it) I'm stuck between updating to 4.4.2 (Which might lock me out of downgrading) or staying with 4.3 until a solution appears.
Here are my device details:
SAMSUNG NOTE 2 LTE
GT-N7105
Android Ver: 4.3
Baseband ver: N7105XXUEMJ9
Build: JSS15J.N7105XXUEML3
I'm already past warranty so tripping knox isn't a problem, I just want to bring it back down to 4.1.2.
Can anyone give me advice or a step-by-step on how I should proceed? I've been looking for a solution over the last few months without any real progress...:crying:

Once Knox is triggered or updating to official 4.3 and higher one cannot downgrade to 4.1.2. So you are stuck with 4.3 and higher ROMs. Bye bye 4.1.2

You can upgrade to NF1 official firmware no problem, it will not change the knox status.
But unfortunately you will loose root and Towelroot is not yet compatible with rooting
the NF1 official firmware.
Good luck!
Thanks that's what I was afraid of. I think I'll just keep postponing it until I hear of a root method for NF1. Thanks again. God Bless

Don't do the OTA. You can retain root if you flash nf1 via Mobile Odin Pro app.

Hi,
Sorry to imply an obligation but would you be able to point to a Tutorial for 5.11 root? I've been looking and it's a bit confusing. A step by step would be most helpful. If you do not know of a tutorial, maybe just point me in the right direction? I could care less about knox. i just need root.

You have to install custom recovery before rooting your device.
