[Q] Whatsapp and WeChat keep closing - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please help.
Messaging apps like Whatsapp and Wechat keep closing on its own. I will not know I got messages until I manually start the apps.Sometimes it will just closed when I am typing on it.
My Note 2 is rooted with original ROM 4.1.2
Got the following apps installed which I think might be causing the problem. But I am sure I never hibernate or set auto kill Whatsapp or WeChat.
1. Bloatware Freezer Free
2. Clean Master
3. Greenify
4. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Mobile
5. AVG AntiVirus
Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

[Q] I have two apps that are failing to show background notifications.

I'm running CM 6.1 Stable. I have two apps installed that I have configured to provide me with background notifications: reddit is fun and Foursquare. Reddit is supposed to check for new messages hourly and Foursquare us supposed to check for friend updates every 10 minutes. Neither app is functioning in this regard.
Has anyone else had an issue like this? Is there by chance some setting that prevents 3rd party background notifications from working that I may have enabled by accident? Gmail notifications are still working.
I checked my system log for errors or anything unusual while enabling or disabling the Foursquare notification feature and there was nothing that I could see.
Do apps need to have a service running to provide this sort if functionality, or can the Android system simply let apps schedule periodic tasks? I ask because I don't see any services running for these two apps, and if they are required, that would be a problem.
try moving it back to ur phone not ur sdcard......

Apps restarting

Just looking for some information & help here guys. I might seem like a really basic & simple question but I'm a newbie to Android. Got my Galaxy Nexus (which is my 1st Android) after having moved over from the iPhone.
Anyway, I have noticed that some apps I have installed auto start as soon as I stop them. My mate advised me to install the Android Booster app which closes apps, but a few minutes later some of them just auto restart like Facebook & Sky News. They also auto restart if I stop them through apps on the settings menu.
Is there a way of stopping these apps from running when I'm not using them to save on battery and data usage?
Thanks
Apps that restart automatically have a background service running and will keep restarting. They might need that service for background updates or other tasks.
Uninstall the booster app and any other task manager you might have installed and let Android manage the resources. Apps running in the background normally have no measurable impact on battery life. You should never have to worry about that. Only really crappy apps (or wrong user settings like update every 2min) make problems and you should uninstall them anyway and not try to "fix" what they do wrong.
If you are worried about them eating your data, use the new data usage feature in the settings and restrict background data for the apps individually.
Thanks for the reply. Yeah it was more the data usage than battery I am worried about. I hav now gone into setting and restricted background data. How do I restrict individual apps?
You can't do Facebook yet as its not working with ics yet and can't access the menu. Most other apps have a setting option about auto updating.

Greenify issue

I installed geewnify from playstore and hibernated 3 apps which is not related to google but today, keep displaying " unfortunately the google service has stopped "
Can anyone help to solve the problem? I uninstalled the greenify and solved it but want to install it back to extend the battery life...
Thanks in advance

Kik not pushing notifications until app is opened

I'm on MM Jasmine 6.0, which I did by going through the whole process described in the [HOWTO] MM upgrade.
Since I've done this upgrade, Kik has not been giving me any notifications for more than maybe a minute or two after the app is opened. After that time, I have to exit out, end the kik task, and reopen the app or I won't get any messages. When I do this, kik bombards me with all the messages I missed all at once, and will give me new messages for another minute or so until I have to repeat this process again. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling kik, loading an old copy of kik from TB, and running a older version of kik from apkmirror. Nothing seems to fix this problem which makes me think it's a MM/kik/push incompatibility, but there has to be some sort of fix right?
Any suggestions appreciated!
Edit: I think it might be linked to "Power Saving" but I used to be able to use power saving and get notifications on LP roms.
are you using greenify? You need xposed to get all notifications from hibernated apps. If note it might be doze, so check that out.

Viber constantly crashes

Hi all,
Since yesterday, my Viber constantly crashes. It openes for like 2-3 seconds, and then it force closes.
So far, I've tried restarting the phone, moving app to SD card, uninstalling and installing, downgrading to previous version, but no luck.
So I'm running latest Viber app, there are also no software updates for ROM (I'm running original ROM, phone is not rooted.)
When I go to running apps in developer options, it just says restarting, 0 processes and 2 services (voipService and AccountAuthenticatorService).
Also, when I go to settings, where is no Viber account to sync, I try to add it, but the account is not there.
I did not install any new apps recently.
I've created issue for Viber support, but honestly it looks that they are reaaaaly slow.
Does anybody have any idea, what is causing this, and how to fix it?
Thx,
Predrag
