Just rooted my Note 10.1 2014 edition and I noticed that the glass on my tablet wasn't really even through out the edges. So I wanted to exchange it. Is there a way to unroot this and return it back to stock? Still new to this..
If you have th 600 model then your knox is tripped and if the store rep checks your warranty is void. Though you could push the issue that software doesnt effect hardware defects. Good luck

If you bought yours at Costco you could return it ASIS no questions asked. I love Costco for there return policy. 90 day return policy is the best!

Just download the firmware for your country from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/#firmware and flash it!!!!
So if I flash this via Odin, I will be back to completely stock, un-rooted right? I just want my tablet back to how it was day one, out of the box. Also, which firmware is correct for the US?

Yeah you will unroot it but the knox flip will stay tripped. The firmware for the US is MK1.

As far as I know it is not possible to receive OTA after tripping Knox. Once a New Firmware gets released you will have to flash it via Odin.

No you won't. After you flash stock firmware, reboot into recovery BEFORE you get to the Samsung welcome screen. In the recovery select wipe data/factory reset and then reboot system. After you go through the setup process, go to settings /general/about device/ and tap on status. You should see that you're back on official status and you can get OTA's.

when you say wipe data does that also include all user data like wifi pass, email, apps, etc.?
If yes, then what would you suggest to use as a backup to backup all of the user data?

Yes you will lose all user data. I've used Samsung Kies to backup WiFi passwords, email account info, SNote data, and installed apps. I forgot if it preserved app data or not though.

Ok, Ill just google about a backup.
What I want to do is update my note 2014 to kitkat.
Now, i have just the rooted older version(p600UEUBMK1)
What should I do? Do i unroot it then update to kitkat then root it again OR update to kitkat without unrooting, if thats possible?
you can give me link if you want.
If I have rooted and made"root level changes", is there ANY way to those changes (multi window app adds, etc) stick when I unroot? I would like to get the new Tivo app to work while saving as much functionality as possible

Not possible afaik if you want to keep root, downloads future updates from www.sammobile.com/firmware and flash it with Odin or better yet Mobile Odin Pro and keep root this way. Delete FotaClient.apk and FWUpgrade.apk and both odex files, so you will not get notifications anymore.

You determine what apps are to be deleted in you`re selfwritten ROMCleaner_user script mate. Read the OP of RC well and you`ll know what to do then i`am sure
It deletes all files of an app, not only the apk`s but also lib files etc, so it is completely gone, make a nandroid backup first before cleaning.

Thank you for your reply so to keep root+CWM with counter with 0 and device statut 'Normal' it is the solution to erase theire apps.
So i need to root+CWM+Counter 0+Device Normal!
If i'll do this
Instal stock LJ3
Factory reste
Root + CWM
reset counter and custom on the download mode with Triangle away 2.25
Factory reset,
Restor with titanium back-up
Maybe it will work?
Thank you for your help
Strangely this happened to me. After rooting using cf-autoroot and triangle away, my status showed modified. Then without me doing anything, and definitely NO wiping of cache, data or factory reset, the status became Normal the next day! I still couldn't figure out why.

Absolutely nothing. Only thing different I could think of was that I used a jig before triangle away (as the jig didn't really work in resetting the counter). Even then, device was showing modified after that. It only became Normal the next day, presumably after a reboot. Thankfully it has stayed Normal till today.
For me, no matter what I do, on first boot after every factory reset, it will show Normal, but subsequence reboot will show Modified. I even made sure that the counter is 0 and is on stock without root. When it was stock with root, the same behaviour can be seen.

Ok i have rooted mine by a pre-root firmware, maybe it is the reason why it keep 'Modified'.I will try the Cf Auto-Root!
Thank you very much
I tried CF auto root on my GT 7100 and then used triangle away. It showed normal for sometime and then it went to modified. I checked in download mode and custom binary is NO and it shows samsung official but below that system status shows custom. I tried using triangle away again but no luck. I now have no idea as to how to keep the status as normal.

You mean "the unroot did work", and you are not presently rooted, right?
Did you simply try rebooting? I was confused about the update not working, then realized I simply needed to reboot, then the update worked fine.
If any bloat apps were even frozen in Titanium, you need to unfreeze them. I know you said you didn't modify the firmware. But you might have missed this, or didn't consider it "modifying the firmware".
Did you install busybox? It's possible that Samsung's looking for things other than the SU binary and busybox is one of the things a lot of folks install immediately after SU.
All those things are accounted for. The device status still says custom though. Weird..

Did you remove or freeze any apps while rooted? If so then did you make sure to restore them before you unrooted and tried to update?
Use the PCsoftware "kies" of samsung , that will let you update / upgrade even if you are rooted.
It shows the latest firmware and your firmware so you know if you need to update or not.
You will lose root if you decide to flash firmware.
It may sound ridiculous, don't really understand why, but I had the same problem and googled it (don't remember where i found it) the solution for me was as simple as removing my SD card and rebooting, then the update option magically was available again.
I get " Your device has been modified, software updates are not available." when checking for OTA updates in settings. Does that mean I have to flash via Odin and wipe my device for every update?

No, just unroot using Super SU, then reboot. Once you're back up, check for updates and they will now come through, then after the update is done, reroot, I just did all of that so I know it will work.
Didn't work for me. I removed quite a lot of Samsung apps and other things I don't need ( atm. 51 apps). I defrosted all of them to see it that was causing it. I also unrooted multiple times to no avail.

That's weird, I even forgot to defrost the Knox apps and the update still applied successfully. The Knox apps were the only ones I froze, and since the update was successful it must have unfrozen them when I un rooted, either that or the update didn't touch any files related to Knox, or maybe freezing apps still shows them as there to system and fw updates.
I'm getting the same message. I think it's because I deleted a few system apps, instead of just freezing them. I just have to find another copy of Windows, so I can use Odin.
I don't have anything deleted, unfrozen everything, unroot, keep getting the same message.

How do I get to recovery mode?
adb reboot recovery in a command prompt or terminal emulator.
or hold power and volume up at boot up.
Nothing worked for me to get the OTA. For some reason I was able to update using Kies. It took forever to download the update but it worked.

Evidently just unrooting doesn't do it for everybody, so the cache must be cleared as well to allow updates again.

The only fix is for someone to create a way to root via odin that bypasses knox, and since nobody cares about this phone, that's not happening any time soon. It's already been EOL'd so it's not going to gain any traction. I just returned mine. Not worth having at this point.
Root Works
I got mine rooted today after coming back to stock from custom ROM. I have my KNOX Tripped which i dont care about and if you dont care about tripping it either ill let ya know how i did it. LMK
Do tell. I just ordered a return kit to send mine back. If I know I can root it after each update, I might keep it.

You have to flash a custom Recovery via Odin. This will Trip KNOX to 0X1! Here is a link to the file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3d1q1dzelglf093/recovery.tar.md5
Once you have flashed the recovery reboot into Recovery and install from ZIP. the zip file you need to flash is. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xpoc279um1b6uf9/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94%5B1%5D.zip
Once that is complete reboot and go to SuperSU App and Bam you are rooted.

The recovery was used from S0be's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2669991. I used his recovery-serranoltespr_cwm_based_6.0.4.7.img link and converted to MD5.
I just got a used one in the mail today that was already on NA7 and factory reset it just to be safe. So we can now root even on NA7?
Any chance of bricking it using the custom recovery?
Possible but not probable. The only issue we have now I believe is no NA7 tar to fall back on.

sorry to burst your bubble, but there isnt a way to do it, you can try to check manually, but what you can do is restore and update via kies...once the phone is up and running, re-root the same method you rooted before, and then restore everything through google play....if your worried bout messages and call logs and what not, go into the samsung cloud and back everything up.
Well, so i can root after odin back to factory, and titanium would work? Still seems a a lot... what about just flashingthe OTA zip in recovery?
