Not possible afaik if you want to keep root, downloads future updates from www.sammobile.com/firmware and flash it with Odin or better yet Mobile Odin Pro and keep root this way. Delete FotaClient.apk and FWUpgrade.apk and both odex files, so you will not get notifications anymore.

When you update that way through SamMobile, will it reinstall all the apps that you already deleted or froze?

That appears to delete more apps than I want. Can you choose the apps it deletes?
If yes, does it offer any benefit over using Titanium Backup?

You determine what apps are to be deleted in you`re selfwritten ROMCleaner_user script mate. Read the OP of RC well and you`ll know what to do then i`am sure
It deletes all files of an app, not only the apk`s but also lib files etc, so it is completely gone, make a nandroid backup first before cleaning.

Not 100 % sure but it is not as precise as RC and it will leave some files on the phone mate. Try it yourself with TB and than search with Root Explorer or a similar app for that file name.

Thank you for your reply so to keep root+CWM with counter with 0 and device statut 'Normal' it is the solution to erase theire apps.
So i need to root+CWM+Counter 0+Device Normal!
If i'll do this
Instal stock LJ3
Factory reste
Root + CWM
reset counter and custom on the download mode with Triangle away 2.25
Factory reset,
Restor with titanium back-up
Maybe it will work?
Thank you for your help

Strangely this happened to me. After rooting using cf-autoroot and triangle away, my status showed modified. Then without me doing anything, and definitely NO wiping of cache, data or factory reset, the status became Normal the next day! I still couldn't figure out why.

Absolutely nothing. Only thing different I could think of was that I used a jig before triangle away (as the jig didn't really work in resetting the counter). Even then, device was showing modified after that. It only became Normal the next day, presumably after a reboot. Thankfully it has stayed Normal till today.

For me, no matter what I do, on first boot after every factory reset, it will show Normal, but subsequence reboot will show Modified. I even made sure that the counter is 0 and is on stock without root. When it was stock with root, the same behaviour can be seen.

Yes. Rooted using cf auto-root for 7105. I also have a tasker task that reboots my phone every morning and so far status is still normal.

Ok i have rooted mine by a pre-root firmware, maybe it is the reason why it keep 'Modified'.I will try the Cf Auto-Root!
Thank you very much

I tried CF auto root on my GT 7100 and then used triangle away. It showed normal for sometime and then it went to modified. I checked in download mode and custom binary is NO and it shows samsung official but below that system status shows custom. I tried using triangle away again but no luck. I now have no idea as to how to keep the status as normal.

Setting - application manager - all - sysscope - clear data
Do same with enterprise syssscope if exist
Reboot device normally
Play with device for few min then check status

Thanks for the reply... i actually checked the details of sysscope and it is mentioned that this controls details regarding accounts. So if i clear data will it affect all the accounts i have setup on the device like google, facebook, samsung etc.
I found enterprise sysscope but the clear data button is grayed out

Sometimes a factory reset will remove root, depending on the root method. If root was gained by a means that persists through factory reset, the only way to remove it is with a flash to a stock firmware.

If you want to be completely stock without losing data....
First flash cf auto root for stock recovery
Then download supersu again
Then download triangle away
Run triangle away as root
Then go to super su and full unroot
0 flash counter
Stock recovery
Unrooted
Profit.
Ps this took me 2 hours to figure without losing apps or data. So hit the thanks if it helped

Need Some Help/ After Rooting

Long story short, just got my GN2 off craigslist and it has SuperSU installed but no memory card was included. Does that mean it was already Rooted or is Rooted and if so how do I get it back to factory settings like it would come if I bought it from the store?
I'd prefer to try and Root it myself later.. Thanks
UPDATE, Need More Help Please...
Ok so after Rooting I have come to a problem, my Note 2 won't connect to my laptop anymore.. I connected my Galaxy S3 to move some of my media and pictures to my Note and it said installing drivers (I thought nothing of it) then I tried to connect my Note and it wouldn't connect.. Is there something I did wrong or what? I have USB debugging on and when I check the drop down box it shows "Connected as a media device" but it's not showing up as a drive in My Computer

I tried doing a factory reset on the phone and after it was complete SuperSU was still there
1st. Go to System setting /About Device / look if you see any custom rom name in it . If not then your phone only root.
2nd. Unroot is easy , go to superSU app /setting / Full unroot .
3rd.Triangle Away to reset counter
4th. factory reset
5th.done

Rooting without flashing?

This probably a dumb question but I haven't been able to find the answer by searching and reading through numerous threads.
Is there a way to root without having to flash an image? I don't want to have to set up my phone again and would just prefer to root so I can get rid of all the bloat.
Heck, I'd probably unroot afterwards because I'm perfectly happy with everything else. I just want to get rid of NFS and all the other apps that I never use.
Yes, you can with keeping stock just to remove stuff.

Step 8. Hit Start and let ODIN flash the custom CWM Recovery. When it’s done, your Galaxy Note 2 will reboot and you should have a fully rooted Galaxy Note 2.
So this doesn't wipe the phone? I saw this method but am hesitant to try it because I don't want to lose all my data.

+1 on that method..I did this as well to set up hotspot tethering and it works..no data wipe..
First time doing this odin method so my question is
1. Will I get future OTA updates? It says my phone is modified. Will triangle away fix this?
2. What do I need to do now if I want to flash a custom rom? Install cwm flash recovery and rom as per normal?

Hey if that's really all you want to do, ICS and newer Android allows you to disable bloatware apps such as NFS. Just go into your application manager, swipe to the right until you get to "All" find the apps you don't want and hit "disable" and Tadda! :good:
Even though this requires flashing through odin, this is the best method. No "Modified" status and will not wipe your data. Your phone will be rooted and all settings and apps stay intact (you need to confirm this in the thread).

Lost my root

I tried a few times to update to 4.1.2 via OTA but it fails half way through, so today i decided to update via odin.
before i updated i'd thought i will remove the root for some stupid reason.
applied the update and everything went well. Re-rooted my phone via odin and cf auto root but no SuperSU. installed it from the play shop but it kept crashing all the time!!!!!! so it cant do anything.
Re-flashed the new firmware but the SuperSU icon is there but eveytime i click on it im getting "There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
Can do i install it again?

Do you by any chance have a microSd card plugged in? I'd recommend you take it out, reboot and see if you still get the same message. Also delete any rom, root files you may have on your Internal & external SD.

Get Triangle Away and use CF-Auto-Root to root but leave you with stock. Reset the flash counter and use the workaround which delays loading superuser on each startup. That makes your phone report "official". Then factory wipe.

This is a great tutorial, however, just following this tutorial alone, will restore you to stock with a CUSTOM bootloader status.
Use triangle away to reset the flash counter, once triangle away is finished, it will ask if you wish to reboot to system, or reboot to download mode. Select download mode, then follow that tutorial.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I put my S4 in download mode checked the md5 of the suggested tar file but it failed again

I was able to flash the original original tar file just fine. So I know its not my phone. Maybe I need to wait till the Nexus ROM on the 26th. Can't even get the baseband up

Reboot phone back into download mode and try again. They fail for unknown reasons from time to time. Also make sure you're connected directly to the USB port and not a hub.
