Anyone have this condition?
It gets warm with heavy internet usage. But quite hot when playing games.
I was playing 'great little war game' for around 10 minutes then I felt on upper right corner (behind front camera) quite hot. I checked the battery temp it was 43°C. But as soon as I quit playing the temp back to normal.
Just asking if anyone experience the same, is it normal?

Don't quote me as I am not an authority on the subject but usually when a certain spot on a phone starts to heat up, it's easy to assume that the CPU is starting to get hot.
Games are CPU intensive tasks so you will see a specific spot where the CPU is likely to be located getting hot. There isn't much to remedy it since phones don't have a cooling system built in.
My only suggestion would be to try and hold it as such so that you are not directly touching the spot and try taking breaks when you get worried about the phone getting TOO hot.
Most phones will run hot when playing games

I forget what game it was but my iPad 2 was cooking when my wife was playing a game on it recently. It's just the way it goes.

Hey guys, my DHD hasn't been all good to me lately...
Whenever I turn on 3G network, the battery drains quick, and I mean quick. The phone gets all warm in the bottom, and it loses about 1% battery for each minute that goes by.
With WiFi turned on, that doesn't really happen, even though the battery drains quite fast.
For this reason, I need to keep 3G/WiFi off the whole day, except when I need to use it. Which means I can't get notified of new emails etc. Pretty annoying.
The other thing is the LAG. Normally the phone does not lag in the desktop interface and such, though sometimes it could get pretty laggy even there. But in games (e.g. Temple Run), it's almost impossible to play at times. Lag occurs even in the most basic games like Snake '97.
Apart from that, the volume button has fallen off, and the proximity sensor does not work. I've rooted my phone so there's no warranty.
Anybody who knows what this is all about? Appreciate all help here.

Its ROM and Kernel related mostly. Try reflashing. Try some other ROM like Dekky's MIUI and see if you still hv the problem.
Yes it's most likely an issue with your ROM and kernel. Do a full wipe and reflash again. Use the latest kernel that Lord Clockan has uploaded for IceColdSandwich. Are you using version 7.4 of the ROM?

Again, it's not the rom, since I experienced the same problems on MIUI.

I am situated in Iceland. Should I find another radio? Which one? Thought myself that it could be a radio problem...
I'd suggest first to take a look at the contact springs on the slide cover antennae. Clean them with alcohol and check if they firmly connect to the slide cover. (btw how many bars do you have when logged into a 3G network?), later i actually mounted small rubber strips under the springs to help the connection to be stable.
Regarding the proximity sensor, once stopped working for me at all. I bought a compressed air can and blew into the right hand corner of the metal mesh near the proximity sensor. It helped for a month. Permanent solution was to remove the phone from the metal case and clean with compressed air parts near the sensor. There was a lot of dust. Now works perfecly.
Lags- try different ROM, but this time copy the entire SD card content to the PC and format it.
Volume button- got one off ebay, had to replace as well

Wow, thanks alot! I'll go through this during the weekend, when I get some spare time.
I just updated my radio to the latest (26.14) and it works perfectly! The DHD doesn't get overheated anymore, and I can finally use my phone with 3G on, without my battery dying directly.
I'll be ordering a volume rocker from amazon with tools to open my DHD. Will have a look at the proximity sensor when it arrives.

After playing Dark Meadow for an hour the phone gets quite warm, and i've noticed that this has caused the rear of the case to change shape. It now has a slight curve inwards rather than outwards (basically its dented), in the area between the HTC & beats audio logos
Anyone else having this issue?
Also get an alternating green/red flashing led when playing games with charger plugged in - cant find anything in the user manual as to whether this is a problem or not

The blinking is due to overheating..it does that when it overheard..n don't worry..the new update that Europe got yesterday addresses the heating issue as well..
Till then Temple run and angry birds it is

The flashing is caused by overheated processors if what I've read is correct. Your machine is obviously defective and needs to be fixed or changed.
I personally won't play the graphics intense games until HTC sort out these overheating problems

its actually not a issue. its a weird thing i noticed.
when i keep my dhd in my right jeans pocket and listen music with bt or earpiece. the sound is perfect and i am cruising. but in my left pocket the music seems to stop and play as i walk. ( from sd card or from internal memory )
this is what i think the cause is.
- i am right handed so my right leg is moving slightly different and smoother then my left. so less jerking.
- if it is the case with everyone: maybe because our heart is at left and heart electric pulse is disturbing the phone's electronic more in left side. ( far fetched theory )
anyone else noticed this?
This seems to be an issue with the BT antenna sending intermittent signal; either because you are covering the area on the back of the phone where the BT antenna resides when you place it in the left pocket, or if you're wearing your earpiece in the left ear, try switching it to the other ear and see if it does the same.
Do you put your phone in the pocket with the screen facing your leg or outwards? Try reversing it on the problem side.

I thought about that and if the back of the phone is facing the leg it could be that the BT antenna is being covered.

Nope...... It doesn't matter which way I face it. It happens only when I walk. So it have to be the jerking.

For me,left or right or even back pocket never give me that kind of problem..it ok for me.
never encountered that problem
i get a similiar experience when im connected to my cars bluetooth and phones in my pocket, but only if i put my hand or arm over the phone.
Just got my first bluetooth controller: Moga Pro Power, but I noticed a big problem that i'm not sure if its this controller or just BT controllers in general.
The problem is when I'm speed taping, it will not confirm many of the presses. For example, when I'm playing "muffin knight" and I mash the A button 10 times very fast to shoot 10 arrows quickly, maybe like only 5 arrows are shot. Same thing if im playing Conduit HD; mashing the trigger button to shoot pistol; but shots don't come out as fast. It's not the same as console controllers.
If I play these games using only touch screen, speed tapping works, but not with the controller. Is this how its supposed to be like?
I haven't noticed this with mine, but I don't go crazy on it either. Tomorrow I'll do some button mashing and see if I can't duplicate your issue.
Side note- what device are you playing Conduit HD on? Says not compatible with the N5.

I side loaded Conduit on my N5. I've attached the apk, but be careful though... launching the app will make it begin downloading the whole game.... about 850 MB, so be prepared. When you get to the part when using the pistol, try shooting with it as fast as you can.
Besides that, any game in which you need to press buttons really fast is affected. The most obvious to me is Muffin knight when using "archer" avatar. Thanks for looking into it.

Cool, thanks for the apk!
Anyways, I downloaded Muffin Knight to test it and it does seem like it misses a button press every so often. But only when mashing it really fast. It's not 50% of the button presses for me though, it seems to miss MAYBE 1 or 2 out of every 10. And it's only when I'm holding the controller with one hand and mashing really fast with the other. Holding the controller normally I can't press the button fast enough to make it miss any. It very well could just be that you can hit the button faster than me though. And it's weird, it seems it only happens with the archer. The mage fires as fast as I can tap.
I have both the Pro and the Hero and it's the same with both controllers.
On a side note, this game is insanely frustrating. I can't for the life of me get 10 muffins.
Edit: Woohoo! I got 14!!! The unicorn and his rainbow poop is the key. I just dropped a ton of turds all over the level to give me some time to grab as many muffins as I can. If you can tell, I suck at games like this haha.
Can't wait for mine to get here

So I have an odd situ with my Power Pro.
It works great, and its a blast, but with a couple of games from Gameloft (Wild Blood and Gangstar Rio), the left analogue stick just isnt recognised at all. Its a total pain, and i dont know how to resolve it. All other games i have from GL, and many other apps work perfectly well.
Anyone else had this?
it isnt compatibility with n5? why? cause of kitkat? i want to buy moga pro power :S

I have mixed feelings about my Moga Power Pro.
The right analog stick rubs against your right thumb the entire time you play. You'll get used to it after a while though, but at first it's really bothersome.
Switching between A and B mode is a pain. If you switch too fast, you'll lose your Bluetooth connection and you'll have to resync your controller again.
The Bluetooth signal itself is weak, the range is short, and it's easily blocked by objects. You can't for example put your phone on a TV stand, hook your phone up to your TV, then sit back on the couch with your Moga controller, because the range isn't long enough and you'll start losing signal before unsyncing completely.
It's not compatible with any Android keyboard emulator that I know of. Meaning, you can't custom map the controls to games not supported by either A mode or B mode.
Sometimes it just doesn't want to sync when I turn it on, so then I'll have to resync it again.
But other than that, it's great. It's a shameless ripoff of a 360 controller, which isn't a bad thing. Battery life is amazing, the longest gaming session I've had so far was 4 hours and it still had plenty of juice left. There's nothing else better than the Moga Power Pro in the market right now, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved.
MAybe with future app version will be better
The moga controllers are fully compatible. I have one and its amazing.

I have zero issues with Bluetooth range. I plug my phone into my TV and sit 15+ feet away while I play. Not once have I had it disconnect, and I've noticed zero added latency due to the distance. Mine also pairs right up every time without issue.
