Hi to all friends.
I just bought an Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 3g sm-311 and I have a request for help.
I just rooted it and it works fine.
In my job they do not use wifi and I am in the need to use internet through my tab 3.
I already own a usb Lan card with asix chipset (AX88772A) that works fine with any pc and mac I ever used. Many people have connect it with OTG cable. It detects it but no drivers re installed in the tablet.
They provide drivers For Android 1.x/2.x/3.x/4.x, Linux kernel 2.6.14 and later that needs to be compiled to kernel.
I do not have the knowledge to do that. Can someone help me out on that and explain how I will put back the kernel ?
I would like to thank everyone in advance .
Best Regards
Anyone ?
Umm.... I think everyone with the 7 inch model of the Tab 3 is having that issue..... Some of us think that it will come through an uupdate or somthing.... Otherwise iv tried to push the persmissions using a xml file which says its detected and thats all....Still dosnt work...:crying:
You can download PPP Widget from the Play Store. Samsung devices lack the Option driver in the stock kernel, so you might need to get that separately. They don't need to be compiled into the kernel. You can have them as loadable modules. The forums on draisberghof.de may provide a link.
The ability to load kernel modules has been removed from the stock Android kernel from Android 4.3 onwards, which sucks, but we can always use a recompiled kernel.
No lack..... do you think that I should contact samsung ?

What have you tried? Did you get the drivers? Samsung will be unable to help except point you at their kernel source, if they do respond.
Please check this thread on the usb_modeswitch forum and request Josh for drivers for the specific kernel for the Tab.

Nobody Knows Answer?
oh goosh
Hi, i am going through the same thing too. iv scoured the net for a solution but its looking bleak right now. i found this site which says
"Attention: Android 4.3 has changed the kernel so that loading driver modules is disabled. Nexus 7 Old still has modem drivers enabled in the kernel, but Nexus 7 New (Wifi) and Nexus 10 don't. Since there is no more way to add drivers, USB modems cannot be used with these devices anymore. Blame Google for this."
can someone confirm this or say otherwise. am really bumd that they would leave this feature to use an external modem out. when old nameless tablets can do it. ahhhh
Hi All,
I have some old drivers that work on cm-10.1-20130329-NIGHTLY-n7100.zip,
Will it work on cm 4.1.3 ?
Can someone please upload me this ver (cm-10.1-20130329-NIGHTLY-n7100.zip)?
Best Regards
Gadi
what driver exactly you talking about?
if it's Samsung ADB driver, i think it works on (almost) every version of rom.
OTG wifi card

Hi,
The driver is for OTG ext WIFI card, Will it work?
Best Regards
Gadi
AFAIK, it's a universal driver so it 'should' works across versions of rom.
Or you can try installing Kies and get the driver from it.
It won't hurt to try
Hope that helps
Cheers

Dude, seriously? If you don't see what's wrong with your question then you shouldn't be playing
with those things. Lot's of reading and learning must you do, hmmm?
Yoda
okay, slightly dickish answer sorry.
you need certain abilities enabled at the kernel/driver level for some of the things you want
to do. which maybe be as relatively simple as patching kernel source and rebuilding or may require
rev-eng'ing proprietary drivers/binaries additionally.
you may be better served to researched a device more naturally endowed with these capabilities,
alternately a device with usb-otg support so you can use a dongle device proven to be
capable of these tasks.
ommmm
So because i used custom rom, this apps does not working?

sort of yes/no because the custom rom contains the software and the kernel is a custom build
it does not necessarily mean that your hardware is capable [meaning the device's capability, the kernel
having the necessary code and if there are proprietary/prebuilt source code unavailable/ binaries and firmware
support files which need to be hacked/engineered.
find out the device id of your wifi hardware and search it's id/name along with the function you are trying to perform.
for example
bcm4334 monitor mode
use the search engine that works for you, read carefully and fully and get yourself trained to follow trails of related/seemingly related
information, no matter how obscure.
good luck, may the schwartz be with you ! :silly:

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to get my new usb microscope working on may Tab S 8.4 4.4.2. stock with root.
Cam is DigiMicro 2.0 Scale (dnt.de)
I only get UsbWebカメラ working but just up to 800x600 Resolution. 720p is max available but doens't work. The Scope supports up to 1600x1280 (2MP).
Also, there are two devices shown in list, just the second one works.
This App worked also before rooting the device.
Dashcam never worked .. asked for access to device but shows nothing.
Same on my Note II with Phoenix Rom v18.8 Android 4.4.2
I read about the uvc driver that is necessary to get usb webcam working over USB-TG.
So when UsbWebカメラ works (limited but works), uvc driver should be on my devices and access possible because of root. Am i right?
But why limited and why doesn't Dashcam work?
Hoping you guys can help me with any tips to get the scope proper working, that would be really awesome!
Cheers!
My guess is that kernel needs a recompile with UVC driver enabled.
I have asked in the Skyhigh Kernel thread to incorporate it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58250924&postcount=477
As the title says, this will be a thread for zf 2 users who installed nethunter and find their external wifi adapters not working for various unknown reasons. I hope that the developers of nethunter for zf 2 see this and atleast help us in finding for solution. (Sorry if my English is bad.)
For me:
Adapter : Tenda w311u+ (rt2870/rt3070)
Kernel : FlareX 1.0 (stock)
guys post about your adapter here, and I will try my best to get them in
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
adapter: no idea (rt73usb)
kernel: FlareM v1.2
firmware: rt73.bin (for the adapter)
With pcap you can use rtl8187 adapters.
But I have rt3070 and don't know how to compile drivers.

I've been searching some probable solution regarding this topic. Though it includes editing of the kernel and adding features to it via cleaning makefile and the defconfig sh!t (which is I don't effin know where it's located to my phone or should I make one?) like here in this link : https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter/wiki/Modifying-the-Kernel
Is it correct? If it is, it only shows me " *** No rule to make target 'clean'. Stop. "
If not, what are the other ways to install the drivers to our phone so that we can do it ourselves and make it easy for you?

well, use my kernel directly the command will be ./buildzf2 <v.no> NH
to add something in config kali_zenfone_defconfig
and no worries, I am back to work.
It turns out most wifi drivers are already included (at least in V2.0) but usb otg doesn't work too well on the zenfone.
It doesn't detect my wifi chip when connecting it directly to the otg cable.
However if I plug the wifi chip into a usb hub with its own power source and connect that to the otg cable, it works.
The same wifi chip works well on a galaxy s2.

Still nothing happens ? I'm just gonna wait for you to fix it and post an update ?
Okay I found a few things out that might be helpful:
The usb otg functionality doesn't work on high speed usb devices.
It doesn't even detect any high speed usb devices.
It does detect detect those device sometimes when the battery is at 100%.
Even then, any kind of data transfer kills the connection.
This is when not using an external power source
When using an external power source (like a usb y cable or a usb hub) , everything works fine.
Hence I think that our phones can't output enough power to keep the usb device running.
I found some files (most importantly dwc3-intel-mrfl.c) under kernelsource/drivers/usb/dwc3/ that control the power draw from usb otg devices.
Maybe some changes there might get usb wifi working again?
