Hi Guys,
I'm trying to get my new usb microscope working on may Tab S 8.4 4.4.2. stock with root.
Cam is DigiMicro 2.0 Scale (dnt.de)
I only get UsbWebカメラ working but just up to 800x600 Resolution. 720p is max available but doens't work. The Scope supports up to 1600x1280 (2MP).
Also, there are two devices shown in list, just the second one works.
This App worked also before rooting the device.
Dashcam never worked .. asked for access to device but shows nothing.
Same on my Note II with Phoenix Rom v18.8 Android 4.4.2
I read about the uvc driver that is necessary to get usb webcam working over USB-TG.
So when UsbWebカメラ works (limited but works), uvc driver should be on my devices and access possible because of root. Am i right?
But why limited and why doesn't Dashcam work?
Hoping you guys can help me with any tips to get the scope proper working, that would be really awesome!
Cheers!
My guess is that kernel needs a recompile with UVC driver enabled.
I have asked in the Skyhigh Kernel thread to incorporate it:

Would love to see this added to the G2 I have been trying to find out a way to connect a USB MIMO touchscreen to the G2 in order to make a car dock for it . Here is an example of USB host working on android http://sven.killig.de/android/N1/2.2/usb_host/ would this work for other phones ?
Hi, i'am also interested in this, is it possible to apply the kernel patch to the g2 ?
I've never compiled Android Kernels before, but i will try if someone here tells me it would work
Does the Infamous Tab3 ROM by Jamison904 support OTG? To me, this is the biggest shortcoming of the stock ROM by Samsung, and would be great to correct.
Jamison904: WOW!, this ROM looks GREAT!
Thanks MUCH!
Isnt OTG implemented in the kernel ?
So it is not a question of the rom....
There was one claim that it worked for him/her. We are still waiting for his screenshot or evidence. To me it is not software/ROM/kernel but the HARDWARE does not support OTG usb.
kernal
Try some of the kernels, now the version2 of the 1.6 is tested..
OTG Hardware or Kernal?

I am too new to this to know which is more likely, but I can add some data about my Tab3 7.0(SM-T210R) on v4.1.2m (kernal July 18 2013) :
- I am using an OTG adapter and setup that has worked with other Android phones and it does not work with the stock ROM/kernal.
- The stock ROM/kernal does have some support for the file system, as the /mnt and /storage directories both show "UsbDrive A" ... up to F are in the filesystem.
- There is no indication in the Setting Storage menu for the USB drives. I have seen these USB drives on a TAB3 8 and 10 inche models.
I doubt it is due to hardware, as why would Samsung order different parts for one model than another?
I suspect it is disabled so people have to buy up to the 8 inch, but I LIKE the size of the 7 inch.
I also think it might have been stripped out of the RON/kernal so to save space, as the 7 inch is only 8 GB.
Hopefully Jamison904 or someone who has loaded the InFamious ROM can let us know if it works on the 7 inch.
Anyone tried it?
@rfmic
In Infamous Tab 1.1, the kernel is stock and USB OTG does not work yet.
ketut.kumajaya was working on it in his custom kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439564
Someone posted a picture of the controller built in the tab and it should work with USB OTG, its just not implemented in the software.
Hi to all friends.
I just bought an Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 3g sm-311 and I have a request for help.
I just rooted it and it works fine.
In my job they do not use wifi and I am in the need to use internet through my tab 3.
I already own a usb Lan card with asix chipset (AX88772A) that works fine with any pc and mac I ever used. Many people have connect it with OTG cable. It detects it but no drivers re installed in the tablet.
They provide drivers For Android 1.x/2.x/3.x/4.x, Linux kernel 2.6.14 and later that needs to be compiled to kernel.
I do not have the knowledge to do that. Can someone help me out on that and explain how I will put back the kernel ?
I would like to thank everyone in advance .
Best Regards
Anyone ?
Umm.... I think everyone with the 7 inch model of the Tab 3 is having that issue..... Some of us think that it will come through an uupdate or somthing.... Otherwise iv tried to push the persmissions using a xml file which says its detected and thats all....Still dosnt work...:crying:
You can download PPP Widget from the Play Store. Samsung devices lack the Option driver in the stock kernel, so you might need to get that separately. They don't need to be compiled into the kernel. You can have them as loadable modules. The forums on draisberghof.de may provide a link.
The ability to load kernel modules has been removed from the stock Android kernel from Android 4.3 onwards, which sucks, but we can always use a recompiled kernel.
No lack..... do you think that I should contact samsung ?

What have you tried? Did you get the drivers? Samsung will be unable to help except point you at their kernel source, if they do respond.
Please check this thread on the usb_modeswitch forum and request Josh for drivers for the specific kernel for the Tab.

Its too bad that I can nor find a solution. I will be forced to sale the unit and buy a win8.1 tablet like toshiba encore.
Hi
First post, apologies if I'm in the wrong forum
I have used many Sumvision Cyclone X2's in the past, which have been great for XBMC. These devices were rooted by default. They seem to have discontinued these and replaced them with the Sumvision Cyclone X4, which are not rooted.
The specifications for the device are
CPU: AmLogic S805 quad core A5 1.5 Ghz
GPU: Quad core Mali 450
RAM: 1GB DDR3
Storage: 8GB
Input: 2 x USB port, 1 x Micro SD/ SDHC slot
WIFI: 802.11 b/g/n 150 mbps
LAN: RJ45 / ethernet
Video output: HDMI 1.4 up to 1080p
Android: KitKat 4.4
Would anyone know of a method to be able to root this device.
Cheers
Just bought one also, would love to root
Looks like someone on Freaktab has managed to get root: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?19650-Could-someone-please-root-this-stock-ROM
Not tested myself, as my girlfriend has taken my box away for Xmas
Yess
I can confirm the freaktab method is a winner and i now have root
Custom ROM for Cyclone X4
I have found a custom ROM for the Cyclone X4 that works brilliantly.
The ROM is meant for the MXQ box, however as the hardware is the same I thought I would give it a shot. It installs no problem and runs smoother than the stock firmware. It is also pre-rooted and the pre-installed XBMC 13.2 works properly with the AMLogic hardware acceration too.
I have tried everything I can try and everything is working spot on, however.....
YOU WILL NEED A KEYBOARD AND MOUSE ATTACHED OR BE USING AN AIR MOUSE AS THE SUPPLIED REMOTE NO LONGER WORKS WITH THIS ROM. ALSO IF YOU TURN OFF THE BOX YOU CAN NO LONGER TURN IT BACK ON USING THE REMOTE, YOU WILL NEED TO UNPLUG AND PLUG BACK IN!
There is a reboot application already installed however, so if you need to reboot, use that.

Cheers. Will give this a try when I get finally get my hands on my box. Do I need to do anything different to install? Someone mentioned on Freaktab about removing the bootloader from the custom ROM.
No, I just did as the instructions say. Just unzip everything from the downloaded file to the root of a FAT32 formatted micro SD card and use the standard update procedure. Keep pressing the menu button on the remote while plugging the box in, keep repeatedly pressing until you see the droid on screen.

That ROM has now been updated: http://www.mbox.co.za/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=313
Might try and update mine tonight.
Hi is there any new updates to this rom, or anything else which works better that standard rom for cyclone x4?
I updated the new information as stated. I now find the video link with the film fracture and streaming bits of the picture at a time. So what's gone wrong, and how can I get a complete film without the streaming coming in fractured bits?
If anyone is still looking for info on this you can download the normal or rooted version from sumvision
cyclone-android x4
hope this helps

Thank you! :good: I used this exact link and instructions to get root when I first got my box. I now want to unroot it but haven't been able to.
Thanks to you, I can now flash the stock rom which is downloading as I type
As the title says, this will be a thread for zf 2 users who installed nethunter and find their external wifi adapters not working for various unknown reasons. I hope that the developers of nethunter for zf 2 see this and atleast help us in finding for solution. (Sorry if my English is bad.)
For me:
Adapter : Tenda w311u+ (rt2870/rt3070)
Kernel : FlareX 1.0 (stock)
guys post about your adapter here, and I will try my best to get them in

adapter: no idea (rt73usb)
kernel: FlareM v1.2
firmware: rt73.bin (for the adapter)
With pcap you can use rtl8187 adapters.
But I have rt3070 and don't know how to compile drivers.

I've been searching some probable solution regarding this topic. Though it includes editing of the kernel and adding features to it via cleaning makefile and the defconfig sh!t (which is I don't effin know where it's located to my phone or should I make one?) like here in this link : https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter/wiki/Modifying-the-Kernel
Is it correct? If it is, it only shows me " *** No rule to make target 'clean'. Stop. "
If not, what are the other ways to install the drivers to our phone so that we can do it ourselves and make it easy for you?

well, use my kernel directly the command will be ./buildzf2 <v.no> NH
to add something in config kali_zenfone_defconfig
and no worries, I am back to work.
It turns out most wifi drivers are already included (at least in V2.0) but usb otg doesn't work too well on the zenfone.
It doesn't detect my wifi chip when connecting it directly to the otg cable.
However if I plug the wifi chip into a usb hub with its own power source and connect that to the otg cable, it works.
The same wifi chip works well on a galaxy s2.

Still nothing happens ? I'm just gonna wait for you to fix it and post an update ?
Okay I found a few things out that might be helpful:
The usb otg functionality doesn't work on high speed usb devices.
It doesn't even detect any high speed usb devices.
It does detect detect those device sometimes when the battery is at 100%.
Even then, any kind of data transfer kills the connection.
This is when not using an external power source
When using an external power source (like a usb y cable or a usb hub) , everything works fine.
Hence I think that our phones can't output enough power to keep the usb device running.
I found some files (most importantly dwc3-intel-mrfl.c) under kernelsource/drivers/usb/dwc3/ that control the power draw from usb otg devices.
Maybe some changes there might get usb wifi working again?
I just bought tplink wn722n version 2.. Please help me how can i configure it with nethunter?
