Nobody Knows Answer?

oh goosh
Hi, i am going through the same thing too. iv scoured the net for a solution but its looking bleak right now. i found this site which says
"Attention: Android 4.3 has changed the kernel so that loading driver modules is disabled. Nexus 7 Old still has modem drivers enabled in the kernel, but Nexus 7 New (Wifi) and Nexus 10 don't. Since there is no more way to add drivers, USB modems cannot be used with these devices anymore. Blame Google for this."
can someone confirm this or say otherwise. am really bumd that they would leave this feature to use an external modem out. when old nameless tablets can do it. ahhhh

[Q] Connecting to ad-hoc network

Hello,
I'm trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 wifi to an ad-hoc network for internet. I understand this is disabled by default and a file needs to be replaced for it to work.
I searched around but could not find an up to date file for 4.2.2 version of android which runs the tab. If anyone has the file or another method please share it.
My device is already rooted on stock ROM.
Thanks
the same question.

Tab 3 3g sm-311 and Asix AX88772A usb pan with OTG

Hi to all friends.
I just bought an Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 3g sm-311 and I have a request for help.
I just rooted it and it works fine.
In my job they do not use wifi and I am in the need to use internet through my tab 3.
I already own a usb Lan card with asix chipset (AX88772A) that works fine with any pc and mac I ever used. Many people have connect it with OTG cable. It detects it but no drivers re installed in the tablet.
They provide drivers For Android 1.x/2.x/3.x/4.x, Linux kernel 2.6.14 and later that needs to be compiled to kernel.
I do not have the knowledge to do that. Can someone help me out on that and explain how I will put back the kernel ?
I would like to thank everyone in advance .
Best Regards
Anyone ?
Umm.... I think everyone with the 7 inch model of the Tab 3 is having that issue..... Some of us think that it will come through an uupdate or somthing.... Otherwise iv tried to push the persmissions using a xml file which says its detected and thats all....Still dosnt work...:crying:
You can download PPP Widget from the Play Store. Samsung devices lack the Option driver in the stock kernel, so you might need to get that separately. They don't need to be compiled into the kernel. You can have them as loadable modules. The forums on draisberghof.de may provide a link.
The ability to load kernel modules has been removed from the stock Android kernel from Android 4.3 onwards, which sucks, but we can always use a recompiled kernel.
No lack..... do you think that I should contact samsung ?

What have you tried? Did you get the drivers? Samsung will be unable to help except point you at their kernel source, if they do respond.
Please check this thread on the usb_modeswitch forum and request Josh for drivers for the specific kernel for the Tab.

[Q] Do any KitKat ROMs support Bluetooth Low Energy?

I have a stock, unrooted Galaxy Nexus GSM purchased new from Google currently running 4.3.
I have a FitBit Flex which will only sync with phones that have Bluetooth Low Energy support.
I can not find any information on any of the KitKat ROMs out there for Galaxy Nexus to see if I install it, will Bluetooth LE work?
If it does then work, my next concern would be if the FitBit app would recognize that the Bluetooth LE works and it would then be able to sync, or if it simply would still see it as a Galaxy Nexus which they do not list as a supported device: http://www.fitbit.com/devices
If anyone can offer me some advice here, I'd greatly apprecaite it!
Thanks.
(btw, sorry if this is in the wrong froum. please move it if it is)

With any kitkat rom I install only the modified apk from that thread and everything is ok!
Il you wanna stay with 4.3 you must install btle libraries as mentioned in the thread.
Gnex supports BLE with almost every KK rom.
(try BLE Checker on play store: on my Vanir says Supported!)
yes, and wrong place to ask this

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
I used The Nexus Root Toolkit (by WugFresh) to Unolock and Root my GNex. Then I used the link you gave me to get the BTLE files and the FitBit apk. I installed everything and it freakin' works!!! I'm so happy!
I'm so annoyed at Google for letting support of this device go after only 18 months. I bought it because they praised it as being thee flagship, unaltered, always up-to-date phone to have. I figured I'd be on the latest version of Android with this phone for many years. I wanted to keep it stock, but they've forced me to now go rooted. I suppose I could now flash a KK ROM, but I'm not sure what that would benefit me at this point.
Thank you again SO much for your help and fast reply! (Even if I did post this in the wrong place!)
Love XDA!
Ok, so I have to update what happened. Everything seemed to be working fine until I got into my car. My GPS has a bluetooth connection. It would connected, but then almost immediately the Bluetooth service would crash on my phone. Happened over and over again. Even after a reboot. Then when I got home, I tried it with my bluetooth speaker. Same exact thing. I figure the bluetooth binaries that I installed screwed up my connections that used to work. I even tried re-pairing them. Didn't help.
I gave up and decided to wipe everything and flash KK. I used CM11 nightly. Now everything, so far, is working as expected. GPS, speaker & fitbit. CM KK takes some getting used to over stock JB. I don't know what changes are KK and which are CM.

just bought a nexus 7 2013 for the car. now what do i need to do next? what rom??

new to andriod. Want the tablet to turn on and off with engine or power. So what do i need to do?
What kernal/rom do people reccomend. People keep saying timur but hes charging. Anything free?
I bought the 2012 version nexus 7 first but that was so slow!! However there a decent app that allowed me to turn screen off when no power. it doesnt work with 2013 model nexus 7.
So any dummy guides or can anyone help me get the this tablet set up the ideal way!
Timur is the bezt for car use but you'll need to donate ....

I'd cough up the bucks. Don't forget, developers have to eat, have a place to sleep, and pay for electricity to run the hardware they're developing for.
ok so i got a copy of timur rom.
so what do i need to do. do i need to root first before installing?
I'm interested too, and have also heard about others using Timur's rom. But the site looked like it hadn't been updated in a while. What's the latest version, and does he keep it updated with each android release? Like is it using marshmallow? Also, what makes Timur's ROM better than any other? I'm using PureNexus on one and CM13 on another at the moment, and haven't done any setting up for car use yet.

He has just updated his kernel for marshmallow ...search timur v4
What type of setup do you have? Fixed or removable?
You can achieve most things without Timur's... Currently, I'm using stock rom with ElementalX Kernel and Xposed

Opel Intellilink and Android Custom ROM's (OmniROM...) - Compability issues?

Hello, i havent found a similiar thread so...
We bought an Opel Adam Rocks (2014) in which there is the really nice Intellilink System. Its said it will connect with all newer Android phones that installed Android Auto, but when i plug it via USB (tried different cables already) it says "Unknown/unsupported device detected".
My phone: Oppo Find 7 is ROOTED, on latest OmniROM which is of course Android 6.XXX + Android Auto App
My question: is it GENERALLY impossible to connect rooted/Custom ROM phones to it? is there anyone that was successful?
Its not a disaster since we didn't see it as important but it surely would be nice!
Thanks.

I have similar problem at the moment with Huawei Mate 9 and intellilink R4.0 (both new). I am waiting for new firmware and will contact Opel dealer for update.
I have read different forums that different firmware on phone acts different as well as software on head unit sometimes makes problems.
Generally I have read that also some custom roms work and some don´t.
Also there have been several updates for the intellilink systems since 2014. This will cost some € at Opel Dealer. It is not for sure this helps! Maybe it is waste of money.
In this case it is google bringing the disaster... The app brings no information what is going wrong...
i'm thinking about an update for the Intellilink, indeed... and... at least its good to hear that custom ROMs CAN work, so there is still chance. thanks for the info!
