So as everyone know there is a problem with the camera on htc desireHD and desire Z ports, so please who have an idea or knowledge of making drivers, help us. We will very thankful.
here is the link for the available roms

Good luck
Hmmmmm. It seems like everyone already knows this. Now there's another thread too. Awesome.
We are in need of new ideas and knowledge of making drivers to fix it, i think.
heh.....bascally this is the show stoppers for these ROMs...
It's amazing how very few people seem to care about the new sense roms, their is almost no interest at all, i think everyone is waiting for the official one from htc because of the fewer bugs? I think what leedroid said about the the roms not being the final builds has also got alot to do with the fact that very few devs are working on getting the camera sorted, maybe we should remind everyone how long the official froyo update took!

My only problem with the new sense is that I don't to put part of the system on my sd card. If a rom can install fully on internal memory then I'll use it without thinking.

there have been conflicting reports about this
but from what can be read in HTC statements, they most likely wont port it to Desire or older HTC models
considering all of those mobiles have lower memory, even HTC would need to struggle to port those large ROMs to older devices (and i doubt they would release ROM which required to be installed on SD card and not on the internal phone memory..)
I checked lib, bin and other files which contain "cam" in name in HD ROM and old Desire ROM, and all of these are almost the same size. So changing it won't do anything with camera.
Moved to Q&A as not development.
This is a know issue everyone's aware of and the devs are working on afaik.
HTC Confirms 2.3 Desire Plans
Bit of a news flash here, sorry if it's in the wrong section but this is more of an anser to an un-asked question, y'get me?
Anyway, HTC confirmed yesterday that they WILL be updating the current Desire range upto 2.3. This includes the Desire, the Z and the HD. Hope this helps with the concerns that HTC were ditching the Desire for the Desire S.
For the rest of the information, check out this page.
The link goes to CNET
*It's likely that rather than being 2.3, the Desire will be getting 2.4, which is the latest release from Google. This is no different from 2.3 but contains some very minor bugfixes.
Nice! A bit long to wait though.
Thanks for the info!
wow thanx for the great news! made my day

no problem, I was randomly searching the Internet for any articles that could shed any light on the current Desire situation we are all going through, and I just happened to find that neat post that was only put on there today. Alas the Desire lives on, I guess with it being so popular HTC decided to make it, however I'm not expert but from a Market view of things, I seriously doubt Honeycomb will be coming to the Desire range, as none boast dual processors and with the update coming so late, it would be a large Market downside for HTC, why develop Honeycomb for a device that's waited 6 months for a 2.4 update... Anyway I'm just glad that within my first few days of being at XDA that I have been able to help people with the Desire information, I know I only sourced it, but this stops a lot of peoples worries, and it looks promising that we WILL be getting the new sense time for a beer I think xD
We re starting to feel just like the Xperia X10 users and their updates it all goes according to HTC's plan. Nevertheless its good to know we'll be getting the new sense and and Android.

I think that the reaosn why it's taking so long really lies with Google. If they hadn't of had the 2.3 exclusivity with the Nexus S, then the chances are we would have our update much quicker. However HTC should be concentrating on Software just as much as new Products. Existing customers are just as important as potentially new Customers, and at the moment it looks like they are focusing their business on creating new products, and not updating the current ones. Not a good business plan at all.
with the way that our providers play about with it , as stated in the article it will be xmas before its out
I won't look forward to the update because waiting for updates ALWAYS dissappointed me in the past...

That's one of the benefits of De-branding. My HTC Desire came branded with the Orange software (which left me with 100MB of free space) I de-braded, updated to Froyo 2.2 and had something like 143MB of free space left, and whenever HTC release an update I immidiatley recieve it. My HTC has Orange logo's on it and everything, but it's de-branded.

Waiting is rubbish, HTC need to seriously take a good look at Customer Loyalty, but i'll wait HTC Sense is the best thing about the Desire.

It's not the 2.4 update we can't wait for, its the new Sense, well in my case it is anyway. 2.3/4 isn't a very good update? It's a few icons and support for some other Hardware, Honeycomb should be interesting.

Hey peeps . Unless you didn't hear, our old JB Discussion thread was locked yesterday, due to...well, what else trolling, flaming, the works. This left a gap, however, in where we, normal users could just relax and discuss about the recent Jellybean Update. This thread will serve that purpose.
Code of Conduct (CoC)
1. You are allowed to post your opinions about the Jellybean update.
2. You are allowed to post bugs you faced, so we may all band together and try and fix it.
3. You are allowed to post your opinions about the future updates (i.e You think we'll ever get 5.6.7 Key Lime Pie )
4. You are allowed to post your observations about the recent update.
However
5. You aren't allowed to ask about ETAs.
6. You aren't allowed to whine about not receiving the update.
7. You aren't allowed to check or ask if your CID has received the update or not.
8. You aren't allowed to bash HTC for delaying the update in any way.
9. You aren't allowed to troll, flame or disrespect other members and their opinions.
10. You aren't allowed to stray off topic.
If you people can PROMISE me you will obey these CoCs, then by all means, welcome to this thread :highfive:. If you feel at any point you will break any of the above CoCs (especially if you're still waiting for the update), then please refrain from posting here and potentially ruining this thread for the rest of us. If a member is caught breaking any of the above CoCs, he will be reported.

I think the best way to know if and who will give get the JB update is to go to this page:
https://start.htcsense.com/#device/onex
It will only show countries which have JB update, because this is the part of new Sense 4+ which comes only with JB update. It is prerequisite for JB update.
NOTE: when you visit the page it will redirect to:
https://start.htcsense.com/#countries
If you refresh the page after that you will get country list for HTC One X+ which is available globally and already comes with Sense 4+.
You have to enter the above url again to see list of countires for our One X.
Thanks . But lets not bring in countries or carriers who will or have yet to receive the update. Then we'd have a giant debate going on and on about why HTC sucks by delaying the update. Still, appreciate the effort :highfive:
My observation is that JB seems to charge up faster than ICS. Anyone else notice this ?

I have questions:
Is the Battery Percentage available in Statusbar in the final ROM (lets say 3.14.707.24)?
Can camera pictures be taken by pressing anywhere on screen?
My thought concerning the delay: As far as I read in forums, there is still an issue withe wakelock, reulsting in unnecessary battery drain. Maybe it has to be sorted out.
What is your guess, is 4.1 the next 2.3? I mean, you can't just step forward in versioning, there is somehow the need for adopted software development to have a somehow common base? I always see the need for compability updates in apps, when it comes to higher android versions, not only from 2.x to 4.x, but also in between 4.x .
I'm kind of annoyed of the steady changes in android versions, where no real innovation is taking place (especially considering 4.2 ...)

Ah well,
I was hoping for something earlier but Mark Moons wrote some weeks ago that Santa had a little JB gift, or something like that.
So, i'm 98 % sure it will arrive before x-mas in Holland.
Anything earlier would be a nice surprise.
I keep hearing about JB bugs in the released OTAs.
What bugs did you experience, and how bad are they?
I am already at peace with the idea that we may get JB in January.
Just curious to find out more about the november release.
Is it really off the mark by that much?

I haven´t heard too much about bugs re jb. Whats sort of stuff needs fixing?
I just have a basic question. I'm considering the HTC M8 as my next phone, (waiting on Nexus 6 unveil first ) but was curious about how the Google Play edition and "normal" will work. Is it possibly to just transform the standard Sense phone to a stock android with OTA, and vice versa? And if not, are you simply able to flash each new build pushed to the Google Play editions on the standard Sense edition since it's the same hardware?
Thanks for the help!
Obviously I can't say how it's all going to happen here, but with my S4, I was rocking out a nearly stock GPE rom. It did have some visual and performance tweaks, so I never got to try the OTA updates, but as best as anyone could tell, the two devices were identical. With the GPE M8 apparently shipping out, I'd expect similar roms to hit the forums in short order.

Hey guys so I've been doing a bit of research on the differences between many of the popular ROMs available but there doesn't seem to be much discussion on the most recent versions which are based off Android 6.0 MarshMallow.
So I ask that all of you that have used Android Revolution HD 20.0, ViperOneM9 4.3.0, LeeDroid V8.0.0, MaximusHD 7.1.0 or/and CyanogenMod 13 please vote in the poll BUT also provide your reasoning in replies. I'm not looking for the most popular ROM but the best ROM in terms of performance, battery life, stability, tweaks and customization, optimization. Please don't use the look of the ROM as a factor in voting since that is merely opinion.
So yea vote and reply guys, looking forward to seeing what people think about the different ROMs.
Rom comparison threads are generally frowned upon around here, and the answer will vary for everyone. Why not just try them all and see for yourself?

I'm am not looking for people OPINIONs, rather their experience with as little opinion/bias as possible. That is why I specified that people just talk about the difference in performance and options and not looks or how much they liked the ROM.

Compromise in terms of what exactly? I've seen people say that ARHD is one of the better performing ROMs but isn't ViperOne's added tweaks worth being a bit lower performing.
