Are there any 4.4 based ROMs with the option to change order of the softkeys?

Never mind 'order', what was Google thinking replacing the 'settings' action with a 'task manager' instead? Huh? Why would you ever want that? Coming from a Note 2 this is laughable, and yes I already had the 'three dot' option with my rom there too.
I've got an s4 and before that the s3 so I'm really used to having my buttons go menu-home-back and the stock layout of back-home-recents really messes me up, I always end up opening recents when I'm trying to go back.

Hello, I've got my nexus running xenon-hd and I've used the Rom settings to restore the traditional button arrangement I had on my captivate as you can see in the screen shot. My question is, with a menu button and search button now, is there a way to get rid of the three doors that appear on gapps like here in the messaging?
On jelly bean on my galaxy s 1, they weren't there because the phone has physical buttons. Not really a big deal, just curious. Thanks

I don't think it uploaded the picture correctly, trying again.
Nope, no dice, will try from my computer later, but for reference I mean this http://img.tapatalk.com/5224c050-7b59-f27b.jpg
Of course this isn't my phone, I have "menu, home, back, search" as the soft keys. But the three dots beside the attach icon are what I'm asking about removing

So I was messing with my dads Nexus 4. Is there a Launcher or something I can use to have on screen keys? I'd love to have that recent apps button. Thanks, and call me a noob or whatever.

You can achieve this with most AOSP roms by enabling the nav bar. No launcher required If you're on touchwiz then I don't think so.
Go to the play store and search "recent apps" there will be one by "factory widgets" and then add it to the homescreen and it will perform like the button.
I sometimes use the emoji keyboard that I downloaded off of the Play Store, but right now I 'froze' the app via Titanium Backup Pro because almost 3 times a day, I will get strange advertisements in my notification bar/drawer. And note that I only see this in this CyanogenMod ROM I'm running right now, when I'm running stock TouchWiz, these strange ads never appear. Is there any way to prevent these annoying ads?
Forgot to mention that I do have AdAway installed and working, but it doesn't work for the emoji keyboard.
I'm running CyanogenMod Version: 10.1-20130304-EXPERIMENTAL-d2tmo-M2

You can try using an air push blocker, or a different keyboard like go keyboard or kii which both have emoji inputs

This one, for example.
Also if running jb or higher hi can long press on the notification and select app info. That will take you to the a app info screen and select disable notifications.

Im using the galaxy s2 with jelly bean installed. I want to use pin unlock but is there something more like the iphone, in android unlocking is a bit slower and has to press 'OK'
after pin. And also using camera directly takes more time as the screen is shown rotating and then we have to insert PIN for that. So if I have to use camera very quick inserting PIN takes time..unlik iphone which offers PIN but for shorcut as we slide the screen up we see the camera already hiding beneath. Any help please?

1. buy and iphone

AW: Iphone style lock screen

No if I wanted an iphone I wouldnt post it. I just want that 1 feature because it seems quicker and less troublesome
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
cyanogenmod and aokp rom has this feature,
samsung custom roms may have this too.
i'm using chemeleon rom now and got this feature.
I think that he means that on an iPhone you can have pin lock screen set up and your phone secure but if you want to take a picture you can just show the camera with out unlocking the phone. This has been done by HTC and I don't think it is possible currently
Yeah thats what I mean. I want to use quick camera without unlocking with phone still secured. Unlike ios here its slow to execute it like that

Suppose I use a ROM like AOKP to get that feature. How do I restore my back files I do using kies which is saved on PC. Because the new rOM does not connect to lies. Help please
And also if Samsung uses kies, what does a Google phone use to back up?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Use titanium backup to back up apps and texts. Everything else should be fine with flashing copy music, photos etc to a computer if you want extra security
If you are rooted, I suggest you flash SuperNexus ROM following the instructions here
Ive tried the aokp build 5 jelly bean 4.2.2. Though there are some changes in it, the main thing was only the lockscreen as features like photosphere was not available. So is it possible to use the official ROM and still get the lockscreen of 4.2.2 as an app?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Just install lockerpro from market.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Ive gone back to official rom as aokp is not very stable and also lack features and details.
Also lockerpro cannot open camera directly without unlocking like 4.2.2

Hi.
Creator of LockerPro here. In the last update we added the secure camera from Android 4.2.2 so you can access the camera without having to unlock.
Thanks for your interest for our apps.

I am having problems getting PIE controls to work. Can somebody clue me in as to how they work. Not a big fan of trebuchet thus far. Why no gestures? Why no ability to change individual icons? I'll admit it is fast and smooth, but I might have to switch to Nova Launcher. If I do, why did I flash a ROM to begin with.

Because custom ROMs let you do way more than just launcher changes...?

Like what? Not to start anything, I'm just curious. What can I do with CM10.2 that I can't do with Stock JB 4.3 rooted.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Nevermind...I got it to work. Overrated! In order to enable it you must long press the power button and enable extended desktop, not the most intuitive way to implement this. Now I wonder if I can customize the available controls, or are these always configured to be the same as the soft keys at the bottom?
