Anybody know of a launcher.... - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

So I was messing with my dads Nexus 4. Is there a Launcher or something I can use to have on screen keys? I'd love to have that recent apps button. Thanks, and call me a noob or whatever.

You can achieve this with most AOSP roms by enabling the nav bar. No launcher required If you're on touchwiz then I don't think so.

Go to the play store and search "recent apps" there will be one by "factory widgets" and then add it to the homescreen and it will perform like the button.

Launcher default issues

This started happening to me out of no where. Can anyone think of a solution or the cause of this issue ?
Everytime I hit the home key it will ask me to choose a default launcher. After I do, it will ask me again every time I hit my home key.
Im choosing Touchwiz, the other option is Go home since it comes with my rom.
I'm running Calkulins 2.9.2 rom.
I have uninstalled apps related to Widgets and launchers, cleared defaults etc..
How could I uninstall the go home app completely? Maybe that will do it.
Thanks in advance everyone !

First, you are checking the default checkbox before you select the launcher after pressing home right?
Yes. lol
I could only wish it was that simple.
Its not really a big deal but after a while its annoying having to push an additional button.

Well, just use root explorer or something to delete the application, or just use like titanium backup and un install it that way

Paranoid Launcher Switch

Hey guys I have a quick question that's probably been answered. How do I switch launchers on Paranoid if I've chosen one as my main already? I feel like a total noob

Go to manage apps, find the launcher, then clear defaults.
Did that a few times but it didn't work

Try going to manage apps all and find the launcher you want to use. It may be at the bottom. You may have disabled it. Reenable it from there.

After you clear defaults press the Home soft key. Then it will ask which launcher you want to use, and you can set a new default if you want.

This is true as long as you didn't disable the app. If its disabled its like having it frozen. It wont show up as an option.

I did have it frozen but ended up un installing it last night due to issues with music player being garbled on my stereo

Question about home button

Does anybody know if its possible to program the home so a double tap brings up messaging and a long press brings up Google now? If so how could I do that?

If you are running stock TW then the short answer would be no. If you are using a custom launcher like Apex or Nova there are settings in the launcher behavior section where you can tweak to perform actions.
yeah, it's impossible on touchwiz,
I don't know about the customizability of the button on launchers, since i don't use them

If you hold down the menu button it'll bring up Google now. Unless you're in an app then it'll pop up the search engine. You're on your own on the messaging one tho lol. Double taping home takes you to S. Voice.

If you switch over to nova launcher, you can set up all sorts of button combos and stuff like that
I think the "problem" you had with the home key not take you to your first page was just because of how the MIUI launcher works

MOAR gives you the option to set double tap home to launch google now.
Sent from a planet far far away.
Or you could just install Nova Launcher and swipe up, swipe down, etc to launch Google Now.
I just wanna remove it from the ROM. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

I'd love to get rid of it too.. Frequently part of my finger will press it unintentionally.. Quite irritating when I'm playing Modern Combat 4.
Guess its a no go :banghead:

Hmm...When I'm on my home screen and hold the menu button it still launches google search/now, I'm using the stock launcher. Maybe I'm misunderstanding? Anyhow I don't know how to make it work normal, but maybe asking your rom dev very nicely will bring about a fix for you.:good: Honestly I love the kill app feature.

Way off topic so please excuse me, just like to ask what's your player name? Curious if I've played against you on mc4, I got a bit crazy and ordered the new moga controller the other night, hope it's as good as I've heard.
I already tried asking the Dev but nothing. I'm getting used to it already so it's not bothering me as much
