Problem flashing ROMS

okay i have been using the new MIUI rom for about a week has been giving me problems as of late so i decided to flash a diff rom.i went thru the routine steps of wiping data,dalvik,cache and etc.. when i tried to flash the finisher rom by magnus recieved an error that says "E:can't chown/mod/system/xbin/busybox (no such file or directory) E:faliure at line 74:set_perm 0 0 04755 system:xbin/busybox
then trying OTA Supersonic 3.70.651.1-"E:can't symlink/system/bin/cat E:failure at line 11:symlink toolbox system:bin/cat"
OTA supersonic 3.29.651.5-"File_getprop:failed to stat "/system/build.prop "no such file or dire E:unknown command [ctory] E:Error in /sdcard/ota_supersonic_3.29.651.5.zip (Status 7)
Fresh Rom 3.5.0.1-writing boot.assert failed:write_raw_image ("/tmp/boot.img"."boot") E:error in /sdcard/fresh-evo-3.5.0.1.zip (status 7)
MYN Warm 2.2 rls-4- E:can't symlink/system/xbin/[E:failure at line 15:symlink busybox system:xbin/[

Calkulins evio 2 rom- installs with no problems where the problem lies is when i reboot it stays on the stock splash screen (HTC EVO White) left it for an hour and never boots completley pulling battery and retrying results in the same also if it helps using amon RA-evo-v1.8.0
any help wil be greatly appreciated

[Q] Unable to flsh custom rom on Note 2 N7100

Hi experts
Need you help. I am a noob and I am trying to flash JellyKatv3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593200) Rom on my Note 2 N7100. It starts the installation and then aborts with the below error
Installing...
Setting Permissions..
set_perm: some changes failed
E:Error in /storage/sdcard1/JellyKatv3_N7100DDUENA1.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
I check the logs and found the below
It extracts the files and then this happens
Setting Permissions
set_perm: chown of /system/etc/dbus.conf to 1002
1002 failed: No such file or directory
set_perm: chmod of /system/etc/dbus.conf to 440 failed: No such fi;le or directory
script aborted: set_perm: some changes failed
set_perm: some changes failed

(Status 7)
Installation aborted
Beloa are my phone details

Android version : 4.3

Recovery : Philz 6.12.8
Please let me know if any further details are needed. I was TWRP but flashed philz recently. I am able to restore using previous nandroid backups but not able to flash roms. I have flashed quite a few roms on my phone but this started happening after I flashed the DN3 rom.
I have attached the screenshots of the logs as well. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Try with philz v 5.15.
V6 has some bugs.
Do a full wipe before start flashing. Here is philz 5.15.

Actually I replaced philz recovery with CWM recovery and the installation was successful.

[Q] Wiped /sdcard and /system - only have CWM now. How can I proceed?

I had an older custom ROM and CWM 6.0.10 and I wanted to update to a newer 4.4 ROM (Omni) so I booted into recovery and proceeded to do a factory reset along with a format of /sdcard and /system. Now when I reboot, I enter recovery automatically.
I managed to push the ROM .zip to the phone using "adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/ROM.zip". The problem is that when I try to install from zip (withing CWM) the install fails with this message:
SymlinkingApplyParsedPerms: removexattr of /system/addon.d/50-hosts.sh to 0 failed: Operation not supported on transport endpoint
script aborted: set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed

I'm stuck here and I'm guessing that I shouldn't have formatted /sdcard and /system as the directory "/0" that the error message refers to isn't on /sdcard anymore (it used to be). Not sure what to do at this point.
I've tried flashing TWRP, but fastboot waits forever with a "<waiting for device>". I thought TWRP might let me sideload the ROM (I was thinking that this manner of installing might create some default partitions on the SD card, as needed.
I welcome any suggestions. BTW, this is all on a Galaxy Nexus GSM

[Q] flash: some symlinks failed

i tried flashing the final miroslav rom but ran into "some symlinks failed status 7 error"
my device says lgp930. anyone else get this?

[Q] set_metadata

While installing lollipop preview in my f180L i got status 7 error stating that set_metadata: some changes failed to change. I searched through forums and find out that i have to change set_metadata to set_perm in updater-script but when i repacked the zip and tried to flash status 6 came up and installation aborted. Used notepad++ to edit in unix mode and 7-zip for compression .
What I am doing wrong?
