Hello everyone.
I have a Sony Xperia S [{Rooted, 4.0.4, Stock Kernel & FW}].
The problem I am facing is the Low Ram issue. The free Ram is very less which is causing the mobile to slow down. Everything was fine for last 3 months. This problem started about 2 weeks ago.
Kindly let me know any solution for this problem.
Thanks

Dont use ram cleaners
Remove uselss or unused apps
If a app feels weird or poorly designed... Remove it,
Usualy what i do when i have ram issue
And usualy you should have about 160-200mb free ram on a stock rom (jb)
150-300mb on ics

As the title says my Arc hangs up and reboots after around 90 hours uptime. Sometimes a bit before or after the 90 hours.
Mostly it gets slow before and sometimes I have FCs.
Could it be running out of free RAM?
I just want to know if it's normal or not.
I'm using 2.3.3 .146 stock, just rooted.
Anyone?

well i'm no pro but i have 300-400hrs up time regularly. I'm one of those people who has problems keeping the memory usage down without using tweaks. I use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189923 to keep my ram at 60-100mb and use a cache cleaner to clear memory every 4hrs. Some people have 180mb free constantly but I dont see that happening for myself, so I have to take some measures to keep my device flying. Maybe someone else with more experience can chime in.
The latest update fixed the issue for me I think.
Got the highest uptime my Arc ever had - 132 hours, and it still runs fine

hello
ive got a little question, it's not a problem but it disturbs me a little bit.. ive tweaked my xperia arc to the max.. doomkernel, supercharger v6 etc. but when scrolling down or up in settings theres not shadow animation, like the names like Security & Locations bluring a little bit like on the arc S of my friend.. anyone has those animations on the arc? because it seems to lag without them..
thanks =) !!
You mean overscroll?
I have them on my Arc.

no no thats when it touches the edge and glows up i have that yes but on the arc S there is an animation that creates a shadow on the icons while scrolling down the list, with red design the icons turn red in settings and with blue into blue etc.. this looks very cool.. and my settings just lag.. :S
I don't have that kind of animation on my Arc.
But the settings don't lag.

doesn't it stutter a lil bit? especially when you've only got ~100 mb of free ram?
Well, I think it's smooth and I have ~60MB RAM free
Use a task killer or something like System Info Widget to get the free RAM.
Under settings cached apps aren't counted in and you have more free, but you have much less in real.

okay lol but then it seems to run out of memory very fast doesnt it?
It "just" has 512MB, 60MB free RAM are normal for these kind of phones.

okay with widgetsoid it shows 67mb to me is that okay then?
Yeah, that's normal

I've always about 130-170 MB free RAM. But I'm using a auto kill task manager.

FYI, I'm not killing some system tasks or device needed processes, just some 3rd apps.

Hi , my Cousin bought Samsung Galaxy W a few days ago.
Already in his first hours with the new device he noticed that there are too much lags and bugs.
The Galaxy W has 512mb ram !
He ask if there is a solution for this problem and maybe he can add more memory (RAM)
Thank you !
Not possible.

tank you !!
hi, actually you can expand the ram using swap. but you have to flash to cow kernel first, cause it got swap function. try this software RAM EXPANDER
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.swapit.expander.de&hl=EN_US
but there is disadvantage. if you wanna use your device as usb mass storage, first you need to un-swap first then restart the phone. otherwise you pc cant recognise the memory card.
What kind of bug can you get using a stock rom? Especially when you bought it like a few days ago.

Before i was thinking that i will return my GT-i8150 but now i am succes with this app
Download and Install Auto Killer Memory Booster (Here it is) and see screenshots
I just enable EXTREME preset, all time i have minimum 150mb of free RAM.
Hi Thanks after done
AutoKiller Memory Optimizer is not a regular task manager, it is an award winner minfree tweaker, it fine tunes android systems inner memory manager to keep your device fast over time. As a side effect it also lowers battery consumption. Also includes a manual process/service manager.
ROOT REQUIRED to set minfree values, unrooted devices will not have this feature
if you have questions or you face errors please check home page or write a mail
for more details see home page
Pro Features:
no ads
Chuck Norris mode enabled
apply kernel tweaks on boot
alternate preset (while screen is off)
all widgets
quick restart
memory reclaim
Please be careful, apps with very similar look and name are distributed, they can be malicious.
Lately I've noticed my battery life draining fast. So when I check my RAM usage its always around 1 GB at any given time. Is something wrong here? Ive removed most bloatware apps, I have no Widgets running and maybe 5 apps I downloaded. Nor am I running any live wallpaper. Just seems like a lot of RAM for not doing much with my phone..

With cellphone for some reason (I forgot) the ram use is good

Honestly I've spotted A LOT of bugs. Like the signature lock screen for one tends to FC. The ram also doesn't clear like it should when you "clear memory" when you restart the device it gets back to normal I suppose under 2gb of ram some times 1.5 or lower which is great but, I clear memory and ram only clears up little. Also storage. I install apps and it says I have 1.25gb left on internal when I clearly have 19gb. Is it me or is anyone else unrooted completely stock have this problem??
