Flash the xposed framework and select at least the APM mod......makes powering off easy
i installed xposed with toolbox now but i dont find anything to change power options
I have no clue anymore what you are looking for anyway, a way to power off the phone ?

Not gonna happen, power button is hard coded to simulate a battery pull and reboot by default on longpress.
Turn it off via other methods !
and my keyboard on phone also dont have an "Y" button
Y .....mine does....see : small one y and capital Y You seem to have weird problems. ...
now a not weird problem
my brightness keeps being on full. I doesnt change anything when i change it on settings to lower or higher. it stays bright
Flash another rom or reflash the rom with a FULL wipe. It's a issue that is unlikely to happen on a so close to stock rom. And read the rom thread, check AND search if there are more reports of that problem !
I did not have this on stock and now i also don't have it on Viper X.

I have a Telus DHD and I just temprooted the phone and installed clockworkmod 3.0.0.5. I did a nandroid backup and when I go to restore the it after trying out several roms, it won't boot past the HTC screen. I tried starting over and installing the stock Telus rom and nandroid backup again and restore and still the same thing. Does anyone have this problem?
I'm not 100% sure but I think the problem is the CWM version. Did you make the backup with CWM 3.0.0.5?
You need permanent root and s off (I recommend eng s off).
Follow the guides in the development section.
Also try a non 3 series clockworkmod recovery if you're using a 2.2 rom.

how would i change the rom manager if i cannt boot the phone passed the htc screen please help
Ok. Don't worry, this can be repaired.
First you need to see if you can reboot into recovery.
Take the battery out and restart the phone by holding volume down and power. This will take you to the bootloader. Then using the volume buttons scroll down to recovery and select using the power button.
Next you should get a screen with the red triangle on it. When you see this, hold volume up and press power. Then select wipe data factory resest. This will wipe all your data but ce la vie dude.
If this doesn't work you need to flash a pd98img.zip file from the bootloader. Get back to me and I'll help if needed. Good luck.

im using cwm3.0.0.5 it says its restoring my backup but wont go past htc screen after reboot i can get into cwm with no problem ive tryed clearing the cache and factory wipe ive tryed reinstalling the rom that i had working on the phone before this happend nothing i dont know what to do and i need help many thanks
Don't restore. It won't work without soff and perm root. Factory reset the reboot. Does your phone reboot without trying to restore?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
in hboot it says eng s-off
Can you reboot without restore? Do you have sdk on your pc?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
i dont have sdk and when i reboot it stays on the htc white screen and goes no further i have to remove battery and hold down and power to get to hboot and recovery from there takes me to cwm 3.0.0.5
Ok. So we need to flash on older clockwork. Email me and I'll reply with the files you need then I'll talk you through flashing the recovery from fastboot. You have the wrong version of clockwork. The one you have is for 2.3 based roms.

First I would like to point out that I am a new to flashing. I rooted my phone last week by following the instructions on the xda wiki for my G2 and everything was fine. One thing that annoyed me was that Netflix no longer worked on my G2 so i downloaded a .zip file on these forums that was said to fix it. when my phone rebooted i had an all black screen almost as if i dont have a home launcher. i have a notification bar and when i go to the unlock screen i can see the wallpaper and such but when i unlock the slider everything goes back to black. Any idea why ?
Netflix not working is a well known problem but what steps did you take to run the patch
Btw I blacked my screen just lije you and it was because I forgot to wipe, so I recovered and did it the right way, you have a backup right?

Dude I think he's a little more worried about getting phone running correctly. Turn off phone, hold pwr and vol down, once in hboot press volume button down once so u can select recovery, in recovery wipe data/factory reset. Reflash rom from where ever its saved. Sure you hope you made a nandroid of your original rom.
As far as netflix. Obviously it works on froyo, but homestly everytime I have run the patch(correctly yes) with any gb based rom it will then play video but so choppy there really is no point in bothering..and I'm on a 40Mbps connection(phone right around 20Mbps) so that's not the issue.
However I started using coredroid today and after ran the patch netflix works better than it did on froyo...quite happy and its a pretty sick rom
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
My bad...I feel like an ass now. Its not a rom so you shouldn't have to wipe data/fac reset. I didn't do it for coredroid
But if you have the bigger issues you mentioned I would either flash your nandroid or if you are going to want something esle wipe all data/factory and dalvik..or even better get on a computer, download superwipe from dev section. Place on sd and flash that first
Sorry for jumping the gun hahaha

i tried to enter into system recovery to perform a nandroid backup but i dont see any option for it...all i can see is the triangle with the android icon below it and a few options :
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
now i cant reboot into normal mode .....how do i reboot into normal mode?.....i tried removing the battery and placing it back again.....but when i do so the M logo appears and goes off and again appears and so on......i can only enter into the recovery by pressing down the - vol key and the bootloader by pressing down the + vol key.......how do i reboot into normal mode? .......please help
also i wiped the cache by mistake once
Did you change the boot mode in the Android BootMenu? (Pressing vol- ?) If so, change it back.
no i
dont think so .....but how do i change it back?
When blue light is on, vol-
Then there's boot. There you can choose 2nd init or stock. But if you didn't change it, better leave it as is and wait for more competent advice
i dont see any blue light ....also there is no option called boot.....i only see reboot system now....but thanks anyway
Are you on stock rom or custom firmware?

What are you talking about?
Just root your device, get RootAppRemover from Market and uninstall the programs you want!
And you can undo your changes if you want!

A couple things here, how do you know you are unrooted and running 2.2 if you're stuck in a boot loop? Can you boot into hboot? If so can yo write down everything on that screen? Can you boot into recovery at all? What if you remove your sdcard? Like someone said in the other post you had did you leave a pc10img.zip on sdcard?

By choosing recovery from advanced menu option shoundt cause an issue, and definetly won't bring you back to stock froyo, something else happened, can you remember? Can you get into the os at all?

i hadnt selected anything from advanced menu...i selected recovery from one of three options that come pressing power button when phone is on...and yes i can get into os...but restarts aftr a while....
That's what I meant, selecting recovery from within the power menu options will not cause an issue and will not cause your phone to unroot itself and jump back a few OSs.
So some other key info is missing, if you don't recall or don't know what it is that's fine. Can you boot into your bootloader and write down everything on that screen here. Also try to turn on debugging and use adb to reboot into recovery, tell me what happens

Hi guys
Bit stupid of me.
I rooted and installed recovery then i wanted to wipe the data and start a clean rom - the stock rom, no other rom was ever loaded.
I went into recovery and wiped cache and data etc
I think what I have done is wipe the rom itself and wiped all data.
I can boot up but it sticks on the HTC screen and I can't even turn the phone off from there.
I'm sure this is fixable but it's been a long time since i used adb etc and i am not even sure where or what or the steps to take to get to a point where I can load stock rom back on to my phone. If anyone could throw a few pointers my way I'd be grateful.
Cheers in advance.
Turn phone off by keep the power button down for about 10 seconds, volume down and power together to boot into recovery, install new rom
