I got the G2/V4 firwmware to work just fine and am very happy with it's functionality. There is one issue I cant seem to work out though.
I have entered in APN settings for PTA and Phone on AT&T and find when I set the system to GSM/CDMA/LTE Auto, wife tether allows devices to connect, however those devices cannot get internet, it just sits as if trying to load the page. This has happened twice after resets. When you set the system to just GSM/CDMA with not LTE, it works perfectly fine on PTA and Phone APN settings. LTE appears to be preventing wireless tether from working correctly. Has anyone ran into this, it was working fine on the CM 10.2 ROM.

For some reason, I notice that when I turn off my tether, it still shows as a connection that you can connect to. Those who are connected already, still have some internet (though, it's very slow). I have to restart the phone to get it to go away/save battery. Anyone else have this? Tried a few different tethers (except the built in one in the system) and they had the same result.
to be honest I believe the default one works the best its the most stable one I seen so far and it has infrastructure mode I only been able to test 3g so far but it states 4g is working fine as well. All you have to do is flash it in recovery. The link is for the hotspot hack

Hello, I am on AT&T on a GSM Galaxy Nexus. This problem has been happening since the the 4.2.1 update to JB and made me root and flash CM just to see if it would solve it (though I initially wanted to because I was curious since this is my first smart-phone).
So the problem is that at work and certain places I get absolutely no data. I can text sms (no mms since no data) and call people just fine but nothing that requires a data connection works since it timeouts. It happens specifically at work. Nobody that has AT&T in my office has problems except me, so I'm ruling that out. Now previous to this I would encounter the problem in very densely populated places like shopping malls or stadiums but I don't think that's the case here.
Here's the other strange kicker: if I switch to "GSM only" instead of "WCDMA Preferred", it works just fine but it's only Edge so it's slow. I have also tried "GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)" to no avail. The only one that works consistently is "GSM only". Once I leave work I have to switch it back again to either of those to to get HSPA+.
I have flashed multiple versions of CM to see if it fixes and since I like the rom so much I haven't gone back to stock. I've done CM10 Stable through M1~M3 and RC1~RC3 to CM10.1 stable and absolutely nothing has fixed it. It is driving me insane because sometimes work is slow and I grow stupidly bored.
Any clues?
Try flashing a Radio. You can find a list in the development forum.

Ok I'll look into it. Also noticed I have a ton of APNs...
Here's a list of what I have:
ATT wap.cingular
ATT Activation Iwaactivate
ATT Broadband broadband
ATT LTE pta
ATT Phone phone
StraightTalk ATT att.mvno

I read somewhere that you should start deleting them or something, but I'm unsure which.
So I flashed my metro s4 to a custom rom (wicked v4 for tmobile) since the phone is basically a tmobile phone with a few metro badges according to other threads...flashed seamlessly, works great aside from tethering.
I cant get the tethering to work anymore, before it would direct me to the metro tether page, but now the page connection (i.e google.com) times out...I am connected to the phone and my wireless connection says I have "internet access" but wont load anything.
I assume this is because the APN settings were replaced with Tmobile APN settings per the tmobile rom.
I Checked the settings and they are in fact 2 apn sets to choose from. Either tmobile LTE or tmobile tethering, I had to alter the tmobile tethering apn to get it to connect to 4g. but it wont allow my laptop to recieve any data.
Im assuming I need metro PCS's tether settings since my phone is attempting to tether through Tmobile maybe.
Anybody have that information or know how I can get this working?
On a side not I am forced to use the native tether app on the 4g instead of my original app i tried (wifi tether TrevE mod) because that doesnt seem to work...my laptop doesnt see any ssid being broadcasted with that app.
Nothing?

Suddenly my mobile data doesn't work on T Mobile's IPv6 APN. Works fine on IPv4.
I get the same results on all ROMs I've tried. I flashed a couple 4.3 and 4.4 ROMS and got the same results with a clean install and no added apps or settings.
My wife's phone connects with ipv6 just fine on the same network.
This is on the MDL baseband using any rom, aosp or tw.
The only thing I haven't tried is restoring to stock with Odin, but I really don't want to do that just to test to see if it's a network issue. I can't imagine is a hardware ware problem since the cell network is fine and data works fine on the IPv4 APN. If it was hardward, those shouldn't work.

I'm still getting the 'automatic' APN change on my phone, on CM11 and Carbon 4.4 - but I did notice that every once in a while I'll stop receiving data, and have to switch APNs. Once I do, and put it back to the IPv6, it starts working.
What I see could definitely be a ROM issue, though. Could also be a location-based issue? (I'm around the DC area, and get fantastic speeds on LTE, and horrible speeds on Edge.)

I could deffinately be location based. But I'm not leaving this general area anytime soon so I can't test that theory.
It's not a speed issue for me. The data works, just only on the IPv4 APN. It will not work on the IPv6 APN aat all.
I checked the APN settings. They are good. I even just switched the IPv4 to 6 in the working APN and that kills it, but comes right back when I switch it back to 4.
This came out of nowhere.
I'd been using the IPv6 APN for months.
And it's not ROM based. A fresh install of any other ROM has the same results.
Weirdness.
Just curious, why are you so set on using IPv6? The only upside to it is having a unique IP address once IPv4 addresses are exhausted - which they aren't just yet. If it avoids the issue, why not stick with IPv4?

Because that's not the only advantage.
I like to keep my mobile data turned off until I need it. This prevents a few different issues for me.
However, MMS messages require a data connection. The ROM is capable of turning data on to send and receive an MMS message automatically, but on certain ROMs it doesn't work properly on the IPv4 APN. It needs the IPv6 APN to work. On IPv4 it will turn data on but it won't connect properly and the message will hang indefinitely in an in downloaded state.
IPv4 works fine for MMS if the data is already turned on when the message comes in. But it doesn't work on auto data. I have no idea why. I don't really care why. I just know I need the IPv6 mobile network to be able to keep my data turned off and still get MMS messages.

Recently, some of my saved WiFi profiles no longer seem to save. Certain networks are remembered and connected to when in range, and some require me to re-enter credentials and everything every single time. It's as if I've never been on the network.
The phone is bone-stock and I believe the issue started after the latest OTA update. If it matters, the main network I'm having trouble with is 802.1x / ttls / pap.
Wondering if something about the update or Verizon apps I've disabled in the settings is borking some permissions with a wifi conf.
Any ideas?
no success fixing yet bump
Yeah, it's not related to the network. This network is @ a corporate office and every other of the 3000 devices on the network is doing fine

Just moved from Viper 5.7 to bonestock 3.02 and can't get it to remember home wif password after a reboot as well. Has anything changed for others affected? It happens with some ROMs for me. FWIW, wife's unrooted One has same issue. Luckily for us we have a dual radio router and thus can use the 5 GHz side.
