Hello,
I was using #SUG# variable on my xperia SP with stock ROM.
I put this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2452833 and #SUG# don't work anymore (give "-2" as result)
Gmail was removed from this ROM, and I used play store to install. I tried to convert to system app with titanium but no change.
Is there anything I can do to make it work again ?

Clear the data for zooper and reload all your widgets templates. This has worked for me every time.
I always noticed it when I restore zooper from a titanium back-up after flashing a rom.
I just reflashed my ROM and restored a backup from titanium and it did indeed give me negative numbers.
clear data AND uninstall zooper then reinstall
that fixed the issue

Appsbrain??
Restore using backup pro ... i face couple of apps crashes issue.
My Backup Pro works fine across ALL ROMS with Data restore.
U can restore them via Android Commander, too.
i use titanium backup always worked fine for me
Both Titanium and MyBackup aren't working for me. Marketlinks are always bugged.
just tried the following ... i think its the safest
- after fresh rom install
- go to appsbrain and login goggle acct
- syn with your apps brain acct and perform all installs/updates
- reset phone .. clean rom with latest apps.
Hello.
i have a custom rom and i have to upgrade it with wiping.
and i have a question.
1 - i tried to save my apps with appmonster (i thing it is the same issue with titanium). But when i restore the app on the phone on the new rom, i can not see it in the download tab of the android market.
Will the app be updated even if i can not see in the downloaded list on the app market ???
2 - Do you know what file i have to backup for the called (and received) numbers list and the setting of the mobile ???
3 - also, is there a file that tell to my new rom what widgets icones i have put on my htc sense front pages ?
Thank you
no answer ?

What is the best procedure for switching between ROMs and still retain all of your data (contacts, call history, txt history, app data, etc)?
I have Titanium Backup Pro, which I assume would be best to use.

Contacts are synced with your Google account. Assuming its from one android version to the same you can usually do a batch backup of your data apps in titanium or create a filter for apps you specifically want to backup and restore on each rom and use that.

What about going from GB to ICS?

Going upward would be easy.
For your first question - the easiest way to moving around different Roms.
Rule of Thumb (to keep the data)
1. Don't do the factory reset.
2. Don't format the data
What you can do -
Format cache/dalvik.
In here, let me just focus on the moving the roms between the same version (stay on same GB or ICS, or moving upward). Downgrading Roms from ICS to GB is little different story and need lots of cautions because it could break your phone.
The easiest way would be using sfhub's No-data version one click odin. If you use this method, you can keep almost everything after the rom changed and the efforts to recover the original configuration would the minimum. You need to verify the each applications whether it works or not. Based on my experience, some few applications does not work after the rom change. If the app does not work, you can try to restore the app using TB. Sometimes TB works in here but other times it's not. But it's a good habit to make the whole system + app data backup thru TB. Many times for the apps not working after the rom change, you need to uninstall and reinstall it. It resolves the issue always.
The second easiest way would be using Calk's zip file. Sometime his rom comes with no-data version but the other times, it's not. So, try no-data version first if it's there. But if not, just use normal version without wiping anything (don't do the factory reset manually). His package will automatically format the system data, cache, dalvik, battery stat but user app & data. So, after applying his non no-data version rom, you need a little more effort. For example, if you are using different launcher, the system will move back to default tw launcher. So, you need to clean the tw launcher's data and make your launcher as default. The good thing is, your launcher configuration data is still there. Again, after changing the rom, some application may not work on the new rom. In that case, just follow the steps that I mentioned above.
For any other roms, it would be little more complicated because depending on the rom, it's totally customized. So, you need to follow the op's instruction carefully. For example, I had some problems on moving around the roms because I installed the Rom having some inverted apps (which is replacing the default system and user apps). If you try to install stock rom over those kind of roms, then there are high chances that overlapped apps are not going to work on the new rom. In that case, you need to find out the stock apps instead of inverted apps to uninstall the current app and reinstall the stock app.
so, I loaded CM 10.2.0-RC1 on top of CM10.1.3 and I tried it with a dirty flash and that didn't go so well. I did load GAPPS 4.3 as well and every Google app just crashed and when I connected to Play Store it would error every time I tried to download updates.
So then I tried it with a wipe of data and cache and no more app crashes and the Store worked fine but none of my previously installed apps restored to the phone. Is that a common experience or did I miss a step?
Forgot to use titanium backup to save them. Or it could be that you went ot fast when you installed and forgot to check the restore applicaiton setting first time you booted. AFAIK you're screwed.
So, after a clean flash, there are 2 ways of getting back the apps you had before...
1) Flash CM AND gapps before you boot for the first time. Make sure you use the right gapps. There is a chart here. The right one for CM 10.2 is gapps 20130813. Once booted, check to restore apps and settings right after you enter your google account info. This will start the lengthy process to install your apps. This will not restore your app data, only your apps.
2) better way IMHO: Do above, but uncheck restore apps and data. Use Titanium backup to restore your apps and data.
TIP: If you don't already have a Titanium backup of all your apps, flash back to your original ROM, install Titanium Backup Pro, and do a backup to your SD card. It is also advised to update all your apps via the market before doing the titanium backup on your original ROM. Hope this helps.
I just went from 10.0.0 to 10.2. I found that the 11/27 nightly worked better for me than RC1. PM me if you have any more questions.
Hi,
I had upgraded my Galaxy Gio from stock rom to custom rom (CM 7.2 based), and now I want to restore just a few apps + data (for e.g. Memo) and Contacts (from stock rom) from my Nandroid backup, so I want it should be on the current custom rom.
How far I tried to do so, I could'nt get it done. I tried with NANDROID MANAGER, I installed it and tried to restore some apps + their data, (the apps was in previous rom in System/Apps so Nandroid Manager automatically wanted to install it in system/apps), ok, the program showed as it's installed with no broblems, BUT after reboot as it required, NOTHING HAPPENED, so I looked in system/apps and data/data with root explorer, those apps & data were there, but it was not installed.....
I also tried to restore the Contacts from Nandroid (Contacts Storage), and I ended up with erasing all contacts I had currently on the phone (anyway that wasn't a problem, cause i had an regular backup of it).
So I would like to understand what the problem is, and how is it possible to have my previous memos and contacts restored to my current rom?!
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE!!!!
Thanks in advance.
