Update- If you are replacing your camera on your Tmobile Galaxy 4 Don't know about the other models make sure to not order the one most ebay sellers tell you is compatible with every model because is not and you will have to end up sending it back...... Double check you are getting the one I posted so you don't waste your time and money!!!!!!
So I dropped my gs4 broke the rear camera well camera is not entirely broken it displays just a white image...... But lets me switch out to front camera without no problem app doesn't fc or anything..... So I went ahead and ordered a replacement camera which said it was compatible with all gs4 devices when I received the camera i saw some difference by the plug but I didn't think it would matter " I ATTACHED SOME PICTURES " Well to make the story short when I connect this camera and try to open the camera app it gives me an error of connection failed or can't connect along those lines..... And makes the camera app close not even letting me switch to front camera or anything..... I tried this a couple of times reconnected my old camera connected just fine camera app worked fine.... connected new camere it just won't connect..... I'm figuring we have to use the version of the camera on the tmobile is different..... Here are some pics comparing them both
I RECEIVED THE TOP CAMERA AS THE REPLACEMENT THE DIFFERENCE IS THE TEXTURE THING BEFORE THE CONNECTOR IS WAY SLIMMER THAN THE TMOBILE ONE.... I BELIEVE SINCE THE OTHER ONE IS THINNER IS NOT MAKING ANY CONNECTION TO THE BOARD..... THE BUTTOM ONE IS THE ORIGINAL AND A PICTURE I FOUND OF A TEAR DOWN OF A TMOBILE GALAXY 4
Any1 ever had to replace their camera ?????

The camera you took out looks like the same as the ifixit teardown; they did the ATT version. They do note that it barely makes contact with the board...not sure if there's something you can do to help 'secure' it in there...

Yea I tried a bunch of times today it won't work even pushing the little connector piece down it still fails u could tell is the wrong camera since the connector that goes to the board literally stays in the air u have to push it down making the other plug almost pop out to touch the board but it won't work
That sucks bro.. makes the 8/10 repairability score unworkable when there are different components and nothing is documented

Hey guys,
I had the same problem and was getting message that camera is failed to lunch. However, I ordered at one place the camera for my SGH-M919 and it worked. Since XDA does not allow me to post links, I would suggest to write me a private message and I will share the place where I bough the camera. Hope, it helps because many sellers on ebay keep saying that all S4 cameras the same which is not!

I literally put a thin piece of paper to make it lift up so it would touch and is not enough even if u press them together they won't connect..... I would suggest just looking for the tmobile version and just plug n play

I'm really interested to know if the the holder fixing the 'scope to the case is removable (or would be with a little persuasion... *coughDIYcough*) as I already have a modded case. Could you maybe post up pictures of the inside of the case when you get it? Would really appreciate that, dude.
It would be one great accessory, if the S3 camera were up to par. It's unfortunate that such a great phone has such a lousy camera.

Yes and no. If you are holding the camera in your hand and your hans the slightest movement then yes, the camera bites. But if you stablize it, then it is a great phone camera. It is no DSLR, but great for what it is. I will say this, once this lens is on it. You will need to stablize it for sure.
A mod that I would like to try is putting a camera from one of the better HTC phones in this one. That would be a great mod to try. I might try Frankenstein between this and my Rezound. That cameea takes great pictures. But, quite frankly I would rather do this mod with a better camera. Any suggestions on what phones camera I should use? And who want to give up there camera in their phone? Lol!

Seems so interesting. I remember that I tried it on Nokia N95 few years ago. The effect is not bad. But there will be a little blur. The telescopic feature of this item is still good!!
This would probably be annoying unless you get a second back cover for your phone. I'm hoping anyone who purchases this has already thought of that.

Hey,
I'm not a 100% sure but it could be a 1:1 size clone...
If you'll take a good look at the camera lens and compare it with the galaxy s4 you'll notice youre camera lens is slightly smaller than the cam lens of a s4.
Could you post a pic of the inside without the battery and one only from the battery...

I just got a used note 2 and from who I got it from he said that the screen was broke and he had replaced it but whenever I try to use the s pen certain areas of the screen the stylus won't write on. Its either not accurate or scribbles to the left or right of where I'm writing at. Since I'm new to the s pen and the note 2 touchscreen I figured I would get on here and ask to see what it could be. I'm thinking maybe the digitizer but I didn't know if its built into the screen replacement or if its built into the the actual LCD panel. Any help or comments are appreciated.

I tried the recalibrating and resetting solutions and it didnt work. I also bought a new s pen and still didnt work and when i tried to recalibrate it there wasnt anything to change like my first one. it just looked like a small circuit board with a button on it and thats all. Im guessing its a problem with the digitizer itself but since it works just fine with my finger ill leave it be for a while. just a shame i cant use the s pen for more precise doodling lol

Same here...I've done a little research and I'm not quite sure which part I need. I see a sensor board replacement that's pretty cheap, a glass/digitizer replacement that's also pretty cheap or all that plus a LCD panel that's crazy expensive. So I guess my question is would u just replace the glass/ digitizer or sensor board or both since my LCD panel seems to be in perfect condition. I don't really wanna tear more into my phone than what I have to ya know?

I bought an LG G2 coming Monday, and if it works out I can part out my SGH-i317. Capactive touch buttons, ribbon cables, etc. I even have the full AMOLED+Digitizer albeit with a few minor scratches (better than paying $200 I think).
It's all free if my new phone works out. The one thing I won't have is replacement front glass.
