Hi!
So today i wanted to try HTCdroid and after flashing CharmKISS and the ROM and i got a black screen at boot. After much trial and error and wiping caches, i could get to the lockscreen... but it freezes after a couple of seconds.
Is this normal? Should i wait after the freeze? Am i the only one? Anyways, i can provide more info if you want.
Thanks

logcat? Which kernel version? Be sure to use TWRP 2.6.3.0, wipe everything BUT SDcard, flash it, reboot into bootloader and flash CharmKISS via fastboot, then reboot
Thanks for replying
So i wiped everything but the sd card as you said, flashed your rom and then charmKISS from your post (Charm-Kiss-20131020-Advanced-OC-3.0.100.img). First boot there was a black screen, i waited for around 6 minutes then i got tired and shut it down. Second boot showed the boot animation but that's it, it never moved further than that. Then i tried the kernel from myONEv RC9.5 FX+ and it booted just fine, which means charm doesn't like my phone for some reason... I couldn't get a logcat with charm, i tried adb logcat and there was nothing to print, like it was stuck before it showed the boot animation

Yea sometimes it takes over 5 mins to boot after flashing a new rom especially with a new radio or boot screen.

completely agree. I found to just leave the phone alone for ~10 minutes and come back to see if its started. I've had a few times where the boot animation will flicker like its stuck for a few minutes before starting up.
Best to just wait, then wait longer and see if it starts up!
Hello everyone. Start by saying that I have successfully S-OFFed and rooted this phone 510c.
I picked a pretty good rom Simonsence http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598058http:// Successfully installed it, then I found the remove data apn icon http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619372 flashed it and I didn't have service. I restarted the phone and it hung at the white screen with the green htc. I waited for about 10 minutes and pulled the battery. Ever since then I have had trouble getting anything to work.
1. Got into recovery and wiped everything
2. tried to install simonsence again and the phone went black then showed the htc screen again.
3. pulled batt back into recovery wiped again tried to install my backup the first time, still no go went black then showed the htc screen again.
4. (SCREAMING)
5. tried the backup again I get MD5 Mismatch
6. tried to install simon sense again. Now it's just stuck at installing update. it's been there for about 15 or so minutes.
Please help!

Ok will do I'll check back in a bit.

Bricked (stuck at startup screen where the Jelly guy flies into space) my LG P930 on JellyBam 3.2.0, it was previously running CM10 Stable and I followed the install instructions correctly. I've worked with 3 phones over the past 3 years and this is the first time I've had a brick, can anyone help? Don't even know how to get into recovery mode from here.

That happens to me every time I flash jellybam. Just turn it off by holding the power button and then turn it back on.

Didn't work for me, looks like I'm back to Odin and another ROM
Try this. might help
I stumbled upon the same stone as u did...I tried reflashing Jellybam 3.0.0 many times.. didnt help.. stuck at the Jellybam boot animation..
What did the trick for me is I installed the HO!NO atomic Rom and then flashed the Jellybam.. works like a charm.. only thing I noticed is that after flashing the HO!NO ROM, the baseband version lists as "Unknown" not really a problem as Jellybam is working real smooth...
Would have loved the battery performance to be better though as I was getting better backup on V20C official ICS.. all the best,

Did you ever try pulling the battery and attempting to start the phone again? Like mattman said, every single time I flash JellyBam it boot loops on the initial boot. A battery pull (or just hold the power button for like 15 seconds) and it boots up without incident.

No response, it would be nice if this member would come back to give a clue if he/she is still stuck or what they did to fix the issue so others who may come across this would know what to do?
Yes I did....

Yes, I did remove the battery and tried to boot 3-4 times to no avail.. then installed Ho!Nos HyperSonic and then Jellybam which worked..

The battery solution did not work. Will not get the time to go through the unbricking process, definitely got screwed here oh well.
Good evening everyone,
I've been scanning the forums and everyone's problems seems a little different. First of all, i was running CM10 and missed some of the sense features, so i jumped to ViperX.
1. Everything seemed fine on first run, got the snakey tail, but then i noticed it was hanging just after this with the "Htc quietly brilliant" screen and snakey long gone!
2. So i reboot my phone, this time, it just hung on the first start screen and never so much as flinched.
3. I booted into recovery (CWM) and couldn't even get there, it was like a blink of the recovery screen and then it vanished and rebooted, I wiped everything clean by doing a factory reset and tried to reboot again. Same result.
4, Flashed TWRP and managed to get into recovery mode and install ViperX again but on reboot I'm stick at that same ol' "quietly brilliant" screen, this time with no snakey.
I can get into hboot to use fastboot and into recovery in TWRP but cannot get into the OS. I'm not clear as to whether this is a problem with hboot or the way the rom is installed but any suggestions or such about how i've gone about things and how to go about getting around this problem would be great! Gracias! :good:
Did you flash the correct boot.img?

Strangely, and by the luck of trial and error, I tried 2 boot images. The first was for CM10 (again, this was trial and error) and now i've just rebooted from the ViperX one and managed to get back in. Back up in progress! Phewww!!!!
You get my thanks for replying anyhow!
I've got SGH I927R with litekernel rootbox(ootBox-JB-i927-Nightly-20130223.zip + gapps-jb-20130120-i927.zip).
Many times it's frozen while boot animation. Recovery works correctly (TWR). I try to reinstall kernel, clear cache, and after 7-9 tries it boots up.
adb logcat show nothing when freezing.
Same was before with literoom and ics stock kernel/litekernel ICS.
Once it boots up, then it's stable.
Any idea?
solved, flashed with other bootloder (thanks yohan4ws), and reflash the kernel, clear caches.
had the same issue

solved freeze by change the rom to an original at&t ics rom but the phone gets locked and i can't unlock the phone so im thinking on pay for the code my phone isn't root so i doesn't have backup my EFS folder. maybe it can help to you
I have a similar problem, the phone sometimes hangs on the "SAMSUNG" logo when using the CM10.2 build. No issues with the official 4.0.4, though.
I think the phone boots fine when the charger is not connected and hangs if the charger is plugged in. I did too many things at one time (rebooting and cleaning caches from recovery and stuff), that's why I'm not entirely sure if the charger connection is related.
