rely on extended batteries - Galaxy S III Accessories

I ought first to declare that I would consider myself a pretty heavy user. Personally, I would like to have longer battery life, at least a whole day, but not much limited functionality. However, smartphones today are decided to introduce newfangled functionality, bells and features to try to appeal to a larger audience, sacrificing battery life for the heavy core user in the process. Seem like there still some phones with big battery like Note 3 or Razr Maxx, but I can’t say anything as I’ve not touched them yet.
My only solution is using some extended batteries providing 2+ time battery life, such as a 6000mah from MPJ for S3. Though some think battery with times more extra juice for longer backup will not be safe for phone. for my personal experience they worked great, but be sure the extended battery has same specifications as that of the stock one.

Vibrant 4G Battery

So apparently the Vibrant 4G will have a 1650mah battery
see: http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/02/t-mobile-promises-samsung-galaxy-s-4g-for-launch-this-month/
If it does will you be getting one for your Vibrant? (assuming it fits)
If I wanted to upgrade my battery (which I already have), I would get something actually significant (like 3000 MAH), instead of a 150 MAH increase.
If you follow this thread in the Captivate forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906611
you will see that extended batteries don't live up to their rated capacity. I think a real extra 150mah would make a fairly decent difference in life.
Yay! Armani battery is in the 4G. This means cheap batteries for us!
Nice.
I'm getting one. My original 1500mah is 6 months old now with daily or more charging. This will be good.

I have an extended battery (3000 MAH) and it has significantly improved my battery life.
/realworldexperience
But is it twice as good? On my stock battery I have managed to last 24 hours with normal phone use. good enough for me
Enjoy your brick phone lol
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I tend to think that the Samsung original batteries perform better, and my reading on the topic seems to bear this out. As such, I'd be interested in such a battery, if it would fit my Vibrant. The small upgrade in power on paper would probably translate into better life than the small bump indicates. My Samsung battery lasts pretty long.

With normal use, I get about 1% drain an hour.
The battery doesn't even make the phone that big, and I happen to love its size. The vibrant feels far too thin for my large hands, and the 'brick' makes it fit perfectly (especially while in landscape).

Why not just buy an extended battery off Ebay for like $10 and try one out yourself? Based off personal experience, and the reviews from the Extended Battery Review thread, you will see just about everyone has much better battery life with the bigger batteries.
I really doubt you will get much more battery life with an increase of 150 MAH.

I second this notion!
I'm sitting here, 3:13 am, and my phone's been unplugged(And decently used for my habits) for almost 20 hours. I've got.. 28% left. The size is actually decent, and just a tad more heavy. For 14$ you really can't go wrong here.
i wouldn't update.

Mugen power extended battery review

I reviewed my mugen power extended battery for the sensation here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371731 also before and seeing the performance i also ordered one for my Galaxy S II as this phone gives real trouble when it comes to battery life.
So here is how the review goes.
Well, as always – Mugen’s delivery was on time – took around 4 days to get to me here, it was well packed in the usual compact packing with padded protection. Though the packet was alittle whoped maybe the cargo handlers were a little rough, but that’s okay – the battery was perfectly fine.
Inside the packet we had the backdoor, the 3200 mAh battery and the warning card with all the instructions – very basic and simple.
Mugen offers 3 types of back doors with this particular battery – a black one, a white one and a black one with a stand. We got the black one with a stand.
The battery is huge, and almost double the width of the sleek and slender phone, weight wise doesn’t affect much, but obviously heavier. this battery can ruin the looks of the phone – so this is certainly not for the ones who still want to maintain the thinness of their SGS II.
Besides that the door is pretty well built, fits perfectly, not squeaky like other replacement doors. It feels as plastic-y as the stock door – though feels stronger certainly – and the the stand which has a chrome finish does give it a nice touch.
The battery is rated at 3200 mAH which is nearly double the capacity of the stock battery which is rated at 1650 mAh. Going by the capacity we should expect double the battery life, but is it actually double ? Well, we would certainly give full marks to the manufacturer – because it does work wonders.
Alright, first of all let me tell you that I have been using the phone since quiet some time and the stock battery does not last more than a day with heavy data usage which includes constant data transfer, multiple push email accounts, 24X7 connectivity to IMs, Twitter and Facebook, media playback and basic gaming and calls.
I would consider the stock battery backup pretty poor for a user like me, who needs constant Internet connectivity. Here comes the Mugen Power battery in the picture.
I used the phone with the extended battery for a few days at a go, and the results certainly were good and as expected keeping my previous experience with Mugen batteries in mind.
With same usage patterns as I had on stock battery the extended battery did last me over 2 days at a go – which is very good – a little more than double. I assume not everyone uses their phone as intensively as me, so the usage can be much more – and mind you I’m constantly connected using 3G or wi-fi which are big battery drainers.
The Mugen battery Im talking about certainly does make a difference to the way your phone looks, and it’s a huge compromise for battery life – especially on a phone as thin and good looking as the Galaxy S II, though if you are a user like me – who is on the go throughout the day – and not always near a power source to charge the phone – then it is a worthy compromise. The battery is worth it if you travel a lot and spend long hours in transit, though if you stay put at one place I wouldn’t recommend this battery for you – you can go for the thin version which has higher capacity than the stock one, though the size is the same. Overall, this battery being priced at almost $100 is certainly more expensive than others in the market – but, then it’s performance has proved it’s worth – but certainly it is not for everyone. I'd say buy it only if you need it and don’t mind the added thickness.
Hi can u link the site where did u brought this one? and before using this did u charged it or its ready to use???

it was at about 50% when it came - but you should always charge it to 100% before you start using, that's what the instructions say !
The problem with the 'chrome' stand is that it will show scratch marks after awhile. And it is not too steady, can wiggle from side to side. Also, the 'chrome' is flaking off for my case now.

Hi there! Just registered on XDA, am busy getting my "10 useful posts," hehehe. You can buy Mugen Power's extended batteries from their site and they ship to anywhere in the world. I'd link you, but I think I need some more useful posts first. Just Google for HLI-Si9100XL and you should be able to find Mugen Power's details for the battery reviewed in this thread. Cheers!

[Q] extended battery or external battery? with my experience

I brought an external battery on ebay that said it has 6000mAh several months ago. I use it when I'm travelling or have to come back home late.
Technically, the external battery should be able to charge the phone for three times more but when i actually use it. I can only charge it for 1 and a half times to 2 times, which is kinda disappointing.
The external battery costs somewhere between 20~30 US dollars. I don't know whether it is the inexpensive price and bad quality (it actually looks pretty cool and handy) that result in the bad performance or all the external batteries are just like this.
Some people suggest using an extended battery which can last for a whole day. But i kinda expect something that can last for two or more days as i was using SAMSUNG B7610 and i could use it normally for 3~4 days without charging.
I saw some posts saying try some other kernels but i tried franco kernel, fancy kernel, lean kernel, etc. Despite claiming a longer battery life for 3 days, they still won't last for a whole day. BTW, my ROM is paranoid android, up-to-date.
Does anyone have the same situation or solution to a longer battery life?
Just so you know all external batteries lose 30% of its total energy actually charging the device. My external Anker 5600mah is really 3920mah so I can charge my 1750mah battery about 2.23 times which makes sense with what you are experiencing. Just make sure you do your research and get a quality product.
Fact is newer phones are more demanding with HSPA+ and LTE Radios, Constant Phone Signal searching, bigger screens, and fast processors.
I have the Hyperion 3850mah Extended Battery and could easily get 2 days of battery. I tend to be more demanding with my phone since I do not own a tablet so my day is about 10h on battery with 4 hours of on screen time with 35% left. I did not feel the 2.5-3 hours of on screen time for the 1750mah was terrible but I needed more battery for my needs.
Oh BTW I'm on Stock 4.2.2 Not Rooted.
Razor's right....extended is more the way to go....
And just to let you know, custom ROMs have a tendancy to use a lot of battery due to extra stuff put on the phone.

my note is hungry for a new battery

I have mine Note for 8 months and am currently hungry for a new battery. Looking for extended battery below 30 bucks and found mpj, anyone use this?? I am not sure whether my stock losing power because of my heavy usage. I hardly use it and I am gaming online with it, browse webs , phone calls and text, and also a lot of YouTube.
I have a "galilio sx-i9220" 3250mAh accu and its not much better than the original...
I recommend anker accu!
Basically these slim extended battery is regular battery. MPJ is ok, at least as good as stock.
IMO always get original batteries if you want your Note to be slim. I got a golden 3030mAh battery from pixinf.com and it is a bit worse than the 2500mAh original from Sammy. But if you want better battery life always go for the humongous5000mAh or more batteries with the extra humongous back cover from trusted eBay sellers only . A friend of mine got almost 5 days out of a 5000mAh one (with no wifi/3G usage)

OnePlus 3 vs 1 Battery Life

Hi there guys, I'm currently using 1+1 and thinking to switch 1+3. I'm using my phone as a personal and business phone. I do lots of texts and IMs handling customers and orders, few calls, lots of web browsing but seldom video playback and no gaming at all.
To be honest, I have no trouble with my current phone. I'm still very happy with how my 1+1 peforms (performance, battery life, camera, etc). I'm thinking about upgrading just because I want it, not because I need it. How good is the battery life compared to 1+1? It concerns me that 1+3 uses smaller capacity battery; 3000 mAh, compared to 3100 mAh on 1+1. As this is a business phone, good battery life is the most important thing that I have in concern. I am too spoiled by how long the battery in my 1+1 lasts.
I am not asking about how well the performance is because 1+3 will perform better than 1+1 with no doubt. I'm not looking for OnePlus 3T because it is not available in my country (and never will), and if it is, the price is going to be out of my budget. FYI 1+3 is about US$480 sold in my country compared to $399 in North America.
If you have owned both devices, I'm looking forward for your comments and insight. Thank you!
Owned both. Got a full day out of both so I can't really add much more than that.
OPO I was always on CM and I'm on OOS for the 3 and I can't really complain after the last few updates. The 3.2.1 (original) update was really bad for me for heat/battery but it stabilized shortly after
I actually don't care about battery since i got this phone...
If i reach the bad spot i charge it
And this charging is pretty fast
Well with the upcoming EAS kernal it looks pretty promising.
When I upgraded from opp to op3 I also worried about battery life. Op3 has slightly smaller battery but the more efficient AMOLED screen make up for that. Dash charge is a nice bonus. I routinely charge my phones every night, but if I forget to connect the charger I can easy go to days without charging.

So would you say it is better, on par, or worse than 1+1?
I feel op3 battery life is just as great as opo battery was on CyanogenMod 11s, before lollipop ruined battery life on opo.
With my OnePlus3 my battery is during 1 day with 40% à the end of the day.
