Hi,
I would like to know what is the best battery upgrade. Sometimes i need to use my phone for geocashing for more than two days and it is very boring trying to find time for waiting for charging. So I'm looking for best solution like extended battery or something like that. Size is not important for me, but i want something quality. Can you help me please ?
Thanks
Since size isnt a problem, id say.. get the Mugen 3200mah battery.
The quality is good and it has almost twice the capacity of the original.
Official samsung 2000 mah is pretty good. I get about 30% more usage on a full charge.

I bought a 9.99 3000mah battery from Ebay. Cut a hole in the back of my cover so it would fit. Anyway I'm getting over 36 hours between charge with moderate use. Atm I'm on 55% battery and I'm on 18 hours 16min. Data on. Sync on. half brightness
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
thanks a lot for you ansvers
I run ICS with the samsung 2000Amh battery .. I get up to almost 3 days with 1 single charge and about 30% usage (calls and msg and whatsapp)
ICS alone is worth alot in getting the battery juice up..
I have just bought this 2600 mAh battery, has anyone had this, or one similar? any good or bad comment on it?

I'm always afraid of buying cheap batteries because I always hear they might explode...
well maybe not so radical about the exploision, everythink can explode, check out this anker battery thread, haha
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514929
but what is true and so far my experience is that cheap batteries never performed the advertised capacity, i am talking about few dozens i have purchased...
i have only a suggestion: don't use batteries that gives you with the dock of sgs2

I'm using Dragon ICS with Siyah kernel and I'm now on 32% with 28 hours normal use.
What seemed to help is enable and disable airplane mode 3 times in a row. Read that somewhere on XDA and I dont know why but I'm having a better batterylife since
asysa commanded
Custom Rom and kernel and your battery will last you the whole day, and use sreen brightness at 30%

Try getting 2000 mah samsung extended battery. It maintains the sleek form factor.
i'm on the original samsung 2000 mah just to be sure

i am ok with momax ex power, it come with your back case,
i don't have any bad comment.
thanks!

i recently bought galaxy sii but i have dout of accesories came wid phone .
i m wooried dat they are not originol ..
can anyone help me to check whether they are origional in quality?
Hi, I was wondering what the highest capacity battery was without having to replace the back cover?
I know of the anker 1900mah, what about the Samsung 2000mah? Also, what do you guys think of buying no name batteries that are advertised as 1900mah?
I've bought no name batteries for my HTC incredible s before, I bought an 1800mah battery which gave me the exact same battery life as a 6 month old stock 1450mah battery, so thoughts?
EDIT: I'm a stickler for thinness so even if a back plate adds 1mm to it, i don't want it, I've had enough of my thick as stars HTC incredible s
the samsung 2000mah battery gives you a new back cover and makes your phone a little bid thicker, but not much. Most hard cases will still tightly fit
This would be your best option, as you are sure it will be 2000mah.
I myself got the 1900mah anker battery and dont really see any difference with it... It is about the same as stock. My 2000mah battery is arriving soon ^^
There are enouf pictures/movies of the 2000mah batter, there you can see how big it is I myself think it will make the phone easyer in the hand
Do instead of it having a bulge at the bottom, now everywhere is as thick as the bulge?

yes!
I only get 2.5 hours screen on time with data most of the time off with my 1900 anker battery, which is same/worse than default battery.
I think your safest/best choice is the samsung's official 2000mah battery. Do know that many slim cases wont fit anymore.
You can clearly see the size here:

Oh yes, since I'm getting a slightly bigger case along with the 2000mah battery, why not get something with even more capacity? What's the largest capacity that will fit in the back plate that comes with the 2000mah extended battery?

2000 mah
You can buy even bigger ones, but they will be 2-3x bigger in size.
And if 3rd party batterymakers say it holds 3500 mah, it actually is only 2500.
Size-quality wise, the official is the best by far!
And if you are really scared of running out of batteries when you are on vacation or something, just get a 2nd battery? This way you can switch battery whenever you want. And you will always have a spare fully charged battery with you

alright cool, thanks lots for your help, been mostly an androidforums Guy, don't come here often
I have quite contrast opinion and experience on Anker battery on my SGS2. It mathematically holds some 16% more juice, but actually performs with 20-25% improvement. My friend who bought one for his Note (both orig and Anker are 2500mAh) says Anker holds up 15% longer (orig would drain every day between 7 and 8 pm, and Anker holds for another hour and a half, approx). It fits your original back cover, and I think it is worth trying.

Oh that sounds good, but don't companies like Anker, Chichitec and mugen "overadvertise" their battery capacities? A 1900mAh would be maybe a 1500mAh and a 1800mAh would be a 1400mAh?
Oh and did you compare your Anker 1900mAh to a new stock battery or one that's maybe 6 months old?
get the 2000 mah battery from samsung, its great, doesnt make the phone any thicker but it makes enough of a difference mate!

Anker is not overadvertisig its batteries like some Chinese factories. When I first tested Anker, my stock battery was some 3 months old. You should know that Anker batteries (as well as stock ones) need some 5 complete charges to start to act fully with their capacity, so do the test not the same moment when you buy the battery, but after 5-6 charges. I am using Anker battery now 99% of the time, and keep my stock one at home, full, just in case I need the phone full urgently. Every time I keep stock battery in phone I can see how it's depleated faster, so Anker is still better than stock one, some 8 months after using it heavily.
My stock battery is always on 15-20% at the end of the working day (from 8am to 22h-midnight), empty by midnight on weekends. Anker can withstand one day + night + morning shift on working days, and full day on the weekend, with some juice left.
Oh, and I use battery circle with % on it, so I can pretty accurately monitor
how fast is my battery draining while on internet, watching video, playing games (you don't see the % during the game, but you see it before and after), calling etc.

I last saw one that made the s2 just 1mm thicker I will post it when I find it again
i think the best extended battery you could get without any noticeable/annoying bulges, is the legit 2000mAh from Samsung.. it does not cost that much considering that it is not some hoax and it also comes with their custom back cover for the extended batter.. I don't trust Chinese products entirely
Hey everybody,
I've tried looking to see if there was a thread about these two batteries before posting but came up with no results. I'm running a stock SGSII (4.0.4) with an Otterbox Defender (downhill skateboarding/military protection). Phone usage includes emails, texting, FB and games.
I'm looking for an extended battery after going through TWO Samsung OEM batteries within 11 months. Both the batteries got the bulge of death. Sprint store techs have run multiple diagnostics and replaced parts but have no idea why this is happening and won't replace my phone.
I came across a 'Galilio' 2500mAh battery as well as a 'Sporting Persistence' 2520 mAh battery while searching around on eBay. I'm staying away from the Andida 2300mAh after reading several stories about how the contacts were misaligned and the battery wasn't really 2300mAh.
I don't want to go with a big, bulky case due to my requirements for protection. I've read about the Mugen 1950mAh batteries being pretty decent, but they're a bit more than I want to spend.
Thoughts? Ideas? Anyone tried either of these?
Thanks!
I got a 2100mah battery that was really just a fake. It does work fine as a spare and it was cheap but its worse life than stock. I suspect those 2500mah you found are fakes too. I tried the andida which had better life than stock but the contact misalignment caused random reboots after a while.
My suggestion is to just buy an external charger and multiple batteries. I just pop an extra battery in my pocket and go about my day then if I burn thru two batteries in one day I still have the third at home.
Anything on the mugen battery? I want to keep my protective Trident case on my phone instead of putting on the cheap back and 3200mah siedo battery where I can't protect my phone... and wish to have increased battery life and I keep having the problem where when I reboot I go from 69% to 19%..... I haven't checked for battery bulge yet

Beware of Lithium battery scams, ONLY BUY MUGEN!!!

In my search for extended slim batteries I learned many lessons. I kept buying them from eBay until I got to the bottom of the conspiracy.
The batteries I purchased were for my Galaxy S2 and my Galaxy S3.
Lesson #1: If the battery price is too good to be true, it probably is. Case in point, I purchased several great deals on 'Samsung' brand OEM replacement batteries, all were under $10 bucks and all were counterfeits. All lasted only 2/3s of the time compared to the old and well used battery I was trying to replace. Some of these fakes didn't even have the chip inside that communicated with my phone, so as soon as you plugged in the wall charger the phone would immediately cut off, which is bad for your operating system. If the battery doesn't communicate with your phone properly, it's a fake. I went one step further and weighed the stock battery against the replacement battery and the replacement was far lighter, further proving it was a fake.
Lesson #2: High capacity fakes. I decided to try my luck at after market name brand and generic batteries that claimed longer battery life (a higher milliamp hours [mAh] or higher capacity). I ordered them one at a time, each time one came I would weigh it, it would ALWAYS be lighter than the stock battery (the only exception is Mugen). That was my first clue at fraud. Some of these brands communicated perfectly with my phone and charged OK but they were still lighter, telling me they had less lithium and less capacity. I tested each several times (because it takes a few charges to break in a new battery) but they were the same as the others, all would last only 2/3s the time of the worn out stock battery I was trying to replace. In all cases I would return the battery and try a different brand. In the end buying Mugen brand for $40-$45 a battery is the only way to get a quality replacement battery that lasts a long time but fits like the stock battery.
Mugen batteries are the only brand I can find that actually weigh more than stock OEM batteries. Mugen batteries last a long time, just like they claim. Now I only buy Mugen. Save up your money, it is worth the extra cash for the longer life. Would you want to carry replacement batteries around with you and swap them out twice a day or just use one Mugen? I charge my phone once at night and then use it all day long. Even on days with heavy use I still put it on the charger with a charge left.
I've tried most of the names you mentioned and many more. Maybe there are other illegitimate companies other than Mugen, but I wouldn't know, and I've looked. For anyone wanting to continue my search, the key is to research the name brand and see if they have a website that looks illegitimate. Do they sell batteries for other model phones and devices? Do they sell their own brand of battery charger? If not they are fly by night and are selling you a low capacity battery with a short life but have slapped a label on that claims a higher capacity. If you order one WEIGH IT and compare the weight to your OEM battery that came with the phone.

Have you ever tried the Anker brand? I have also read that those are legit. But I will like to hear that from someone that actually runs serious tests on them. Thank you
I've had the anker battery for over a week now. With my normal use I get about 20% more life than my stock non bloated battery

I have the andida and it seems to last about 2 hrs more then the stock one but ever once in awhile when it over heats the phone resets and you lose about 20% battery
Send from a mircowave
Chichitech is legit, 20$ and got a higher capacity, heavier battery for my HTC Evo 3d. I will buy from them again.
Edit not happy with my chi chi tech batteries for sgs2. Loved it for HTC evo v 4g but it seems to be decidedly higher quality than these ones for the sgs2
An extended battery on ebay (only place I can find it) that is as slim as the stock GS3 battery. The seller feedback / reviews seem good enough (no real negatives that I can find, in relation to this particular product).
Anyone out there tried this? Noticeable improvement? Seems pretty amazing if this works as advertised.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AceSoft-3160mah-Battery-For-Samsung-Galaxy-S-3-III- I9300-SGH-I747-L710-i535-USA-/271141691003
Its physically impossible to put another 1060mah into the same size battery. Sorry to burst your bubble but its probably a 2100 or 2200 mah with a new sticker slapped on it.
I like to break stuff!
I would strongly advise against this. I bought an extended battery from eBay and it turned out to be WORSE than the stock battery and made my phone all glitchy. If anything I'd recommend going to Amazon so you can see actual customer reviews.

There are a few reviews on Amazon for different Acesoft "Extended" batteries that don't require new battery doors. The reviews were mixed, at best, with one person saying they had longer life, but they were getting mixed information from a battery status app they were using, about how many mA's it actually had at full charge, and such. It shows only $20, so if you feel like it is worth it, I'd say go for it. I pre-ordered, then cancelled, the 3000mAh OEM Samsung extended battery for my phone. Since I see the GS4 is coming, I'll hold off on the battery.
great

whatever size it is it last a lot longer than the stock battery does.
I would highly recommend battery
I would advise against it. It looks like a rebranded Stock Capacity Battery.
OK so I was searching for a battery replacement. I bought one from Amazon by a company called AceSoft. The battery on the website was advertised as 2900mAh. However, when I got it it was 3160mAh. Its a slim standard size (no cover replacement required).
I have to say, 2 days and beating on the phone, and I am getting no less than 12.5 hours solid and at least 3.5 hours of screen time (50% of use).
Here are some screenshots of using it with KT747 Kernel and no Tweaks
The others (9hrs battery and 2.5hrs screen) are from my original 2100mAh battery with KT747 Kernel and some tweaks for battery life
I was going to ask the same thing, I've already got a decent case on my phone and only really want a free extra hours. Are there any recommended batteries that are the same slim size?
Guys I really need to buy a new battery for my Galaxy Nexus gsm i9250<br />
I am not looking for oem replacements but extended battery of about 3500 (the higher the capacity the better) mah or more from 3rd party manufactures. <br />
I want a battery which will last a long time not a cheap chinese knock-off. Nfc dosent matter cause i dont use it and probably never will. <br />
Also I am also looking for an external charger cause i will keep more than one battery. I've had a bad experiance with cheap external chargers destroying my batteries <br />
Since amazon and ebay dont ship to my country I am going to use an importing service which will add to the costs. So i want my first experience buying online to be good<br />
Amazon links are preferred and thanks in advance<br/>
The problem with those good quality batteries is that they cost more than the phone is worth :/ You can buy a used Galaxy Nexus for ~50$ while the good extended batteries cost more than that. I just went for a cheap Chinese one for less than 20$. It says 3800 mAh but the real capacity seems to be rather around 3000 mAh, judging by how it performs.
I too was looking at getting an extended life battery, but for me $ wasn't the issue, size and reliability were more concerning.
Then few months ago I got 1 on those USB power sticks as a gift and it's been really helpful whenever I've needed a recharge when I'm out or forget and don't have time to wait to charge up via wall charger.
Now only issue is that for the post few months it's been cold out and the stick is stored easily in my jacket, but not sure I'll enjoy carrying it as much in my jeans pocket.
I had a bad experience with a mtec 3800mAh the price was convenient (10€) and I also found good opinion about this battery. But when I use this battery the smartphone turn off themselves with a 30-40% residual battery... And if I reboot it the battery percentage is very low 3-4%. I don't know if the battery is falled or maybe I have to set some parameters.
LolliGNexus
I'm using a qcell 3800mah battery and getting good results. The battery section usually shows 6 to 7 hours of screen usage before the low battery warning cuts in. If I don't use the phone much, I can finish out the day with 70% or more remaining.
It is a bit heavier, but the stock battery is total garbage.

Here you go, apparently it's twenty bucks with the back case. I also bought the rubber bumper from amazon for a few dollars. Now that I realize that's half the value of the phone, it's a bit concerning. However, it beats dropping $650 on a new nexus or HTC phone.
Qcell battery: http://qcellpower.com/accessories.php?id=39
a case that fits the extended battery back (apparently, the trexcell case I had is now unavailable): http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Exte...806985&sr=1-6&keywords=i9250+extended+battery
Now that I'm running nephilim's settings on Cm remix+smitty superram kernel it's really humming along quite nicely. Occasionally there are a few hiccups, but battery life is incredible. My wife's nexus 5 requires constant charging, I can use mine all day and not plug in until I go to bed at midnight.

I paid $25 back in april of 2013. I am routinely seeing the batteries for this phone go into the discontinued/unavailable phase, as I would expect (I have only seen one other Galaxy Nexus in the wild in 3 years. )
My best advice would be to scour eBay and see if you get lucky. Amazon is sporadic on keeping older electronics stocked.
Some screen grabs I did since I forgot to charge my phone last night.
Nearing 6 hours of screen-on time with 25% remaining.
Not too shabby for a phone that is what, four years old? Either way it has served me well and will hopefully have some more time to go until it finally dies.
