My xperia Arc is out of warranty and displaying error "process.com.android.phone" has stopped.
The phone reboots after 30 seconds and does not even allow me to connect to PCC.
How I achieved it
1) Changed the Sim card.
2) Connected to PCC and tried to sync the existing contacts.
3) Disconnected the ongoing contact & Calender sync.
After that phone rebooted and since then I just cannot start my phone.
All it does is boot up and say "Android is upgrading" and then display "process.com.android.phone" has stopped.
It reboots after 30 seconds.
Now m phone is totally unusable.
Please help.
FYI it is totally unrooted and updated to latest Firmware via PCC.
Download the right .ftf and flash it with flashtool.

Before you try flashing. Download the sony update tool. Not pc companion.
This update tool allows the phone to be updatwd when off, not on like the pcc

Hi Guys, I have an Xperia Arc (SO-01C) which was Bricked after a failed update... i know this has probably been asked a couple thousand times here before, but here me out, pls:
1. I found a few (3 or 4) threads in XDA that were about similar/same issue with Xperia Arcs
2. I followed the steps (Some using flashtool and some using the Sony Update Service)
3. Both methods successfully flash the device (or at-least the software says it has)
4. Here's the problem:
After Flashing a sony firmware (Stock) it still will not boot
When pressing the power button the Green LED flashes (at a rate of 1 per second appoximately)
When i plug in the USB cable, it does not charge either (Instead it lights up the GREEN LED, which i think is flashmode)
So any help would be great if you guys have seen this behavior before...
[UPDATE]
Also, i think the Firware on the phone may have been modified cause it is DOCOMO branded, but there is no sim lock, so i think it may have been unlocked by previous owner...
Cheers
Re: [Q] Xperia Arc (SO-01C): Bricked after failed update
Had the same issue after a unsuccessfull kerler flash with flashtool.
I relocked, repaired with pccompanion, but it still didnt boot. Just a green led for a moment flashed.
After a half hour it started automaticly by itself. Guess i was lucky.
How much battery did you have before starting flashing?

Warranty out? For the shop...
Re: [Q] Xperia Arc (SO-01C): Bricked after failed update
No warranty cause it's a docomo branded phone and has been sim unlocked...
Well as promised! Here is my update:
I got Ginger Bread running back on it. They at the shop had SETools and unlocked the bootloader and from there it was smooth sailing.

I've experienced the same problem
the solution is
use pcc then select the repair until the process is complete
and then restart your hh
Thanks for the reply, by the way... what is PCC? Just asking since it might happen again, i wanna know how to get around it.

just follow this instructions @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095656
but you should download docomo firmware 4.0.1.C.1.31 @ http://www.filecrop.com/search.php?...1&engine_h=1&engine_e=1&engine_m=1&engine_4=1
flash it with flashtool 0.6.9.1, dont use latest flashtool because it cannot read the ftf file.
This guide resolves my bricked NTT docomo xperia SO-02c, also updated to andorid 4.0.3..
hope this resolves your bricked xperia.
Download the latest version of the flash tool.
The green light blinks coz there maybe no charge in your phone.
After flashing dont turn on the phone connect it to the charger.
If the sony logo appears then there is nothing wrong with your phone.
If it doesn't appear visit the sony mobile service center.
Hope it helped.

Hi, I've a problem with my Xperia Play, I tried to flash .42 FW over a custom rom, but I think I bricked it, because aftter flashing, the phone doesnt start up and a red light appears near the power button when I connect the phone at the computer (that happens also when I trying to power up the device). Also, when I connect the phone at my computer, it recognize as "Xperia Neo", instead of Xperia Play. Can someone help me, please ?

Well this is is What happened. I was trying to install "ICS Neo2Play V2.7" on my "Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY" I tried it twice and I couldn't so I flashed it again to R800a North America. As I couldn't do it I upgraded the "Flashtool! from 0.6.9.1 to 0.9.18.5 and tried to install "Lupus-v12-iCs-720" but I couldn't so I tried to install "ICS Neo2Play V2.7" and nothing so I plug it to flash it again and the Rom R800a wasn't there I didn't notice it and clicked flash so it did it fast and now I have a dead pone, it doesn't enter Flashmode doesn't turn on nothing but when I conect it to the PC the sound plays but that's it. It also doesn't turn on and the LED doesn't blink. HELP....!!! PLEASE.........!!! is there any way to fix it.....???
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.
Stand by
Good luck
If u flashed x10 relock file, u probably damaged bootloader partition and i dont think u can reapir it in home, without flasmode, coz only thing i can think of (not counting using box) is to flash relock file for 2011 xperias

I messed up my xperia ion in a similiar way. Take out the battery for a few minutes. With the battery out hook it up to the pc. If you can see a dim charging light of any colour your should be able to fix it. Unplug the phone and put the battery in. Without trying to power it on click the back button and connect it to the pc. This may work.
