Hi everyone.
This is my problem:
I recently updated my arc s, from.42 to .62(idiot) and after that the phone wont switch on, when I try to switch it on it only shows a green blink from side and that is it.
I have tried to flash it with generic rom, with SEUS update, nothing works, it just says flashing complete turn on the phone but I CAN NOT DO THAT!!!
When I connect it with the computer it is in flash mode (SEMC Flash Drive), bootloader is locked!!!
What can I do???:crying::crying::crying:

Try SEUS again. That will be your best option.
Go to a Sony Support Center?
Try it again, if it fails try flashtool. If that fails contact Sony

I used PC Companion to update my Sony Xperia Arc S to ICS (Official Sony update). The update did not complete and showed an error. When I tried turning on my phone, it displays the Sony logo, followed by the image of a phone with an exclamation symbol next to it. Then the phone goes blank. I even tried removing the battery and putting it back. Also tried charging my phone. The same thing happens. I don't know what to do. Please help guys. I'm scared that I won't be able to revive my phone!
Flash an .431 firmware through flashtool on you arc and it will be fixed

If your bootloader is locked then you can try using seus (dont use pc companion it always fails for me too) and dont panic its only soft brick and easily recoverable. By the way there is fix for hard brick too.
And if you are on unlocked bl then you cannot update using seus, flash ftf file via flashtool or use patch for it

Can you get into flashmode (back button + USB, green LED)?

If you still have problems just use Sony Update Service to restore your phone.

Unhappy Xperia Arc S won't start after updating to ICS
Did You selected to install fastboot, flashmode and Xperia Arc drivers in "Flashtool Drivers Setup"? (C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe)..I would suggest trying to reinstall your drivers by going to (C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe) running the exe file and make sure you scroll to the bottom of menu that appears and ticking fastboot, flashmode drivers, some people forget to do this and of course ticking Xperia Arc drivers..

So now if i connect my Xperia Arc S to computer, i don't hear sound what's mean "Error when connecting device" for a now, it's play correct sound, like device spoted normaly without errors, but my phone anyway can't enter to flash mode for reinstalling FIRMWARE, today i also charged battery without phone, by using portable doc station for battary.
additional info: my phone not turning LED like green when charging or BLUE when i try bring phone to flash mode.
What i can do for resolving problem, i mean, all problems started after my restoring backuped programs and earn 0 space on local phone storage. And after cycling rebooting my phone, before i removed battery.
ty for advice.
After I have updated from 2.3.4 to ICS i had no contacts in my phonebook. When I typed in a name of a contact in the google search bar he did find them, so i didn't lose them. I just couldnt' see them in my phonebook or add new contacts.
ICS was also very slow, i liked 2.3.4 better so i wanted to downgrade to 2.3.4. Now the phone just keeps restarting. I see Sony coming on the screen, then it disappears and then it comes back...
What to do now?
Try re-flashing the .62 firmware for GB 2.3.4
But how? I can't connect my phone to the pc, because he doesn't get past the sony screen. So Flashtool doesn't find my phone.
long way: Delete all SUS db files and connect phone to SUS.. restore fabric settings+ upgrade to latest version. After that use flashtool to downgrade it.
Short way: Im still thinking about it sorry :/
Try This?
Just Whack your battery out hold down the back key and press the power button, problem solved Does the trick

SUS db files?
I can't connect my phone to my computer, so Sony Update Service won't find it. The only thing that works is to connect the phone in fastboot mode, then flashtools finds my phone.
What can I do from that piont on?
I now flashed LT15i_4.1.B.0.431[Generic World FR].
It worked, now i get the sony screen, then the xperia screen, but that's it. He keeps rebooting...
when flash the rom check wipe data and chath and don't exclode any thing

my phone wont boot it gets stuck at sony ericssion and flashtool wont connect
PC Companion
I don't know what you did in the first place, maybe if you point it, we can get to the solution, but you should try on use PC Companion, to restore the firmware, after that you could use Flashtool again, it happend to me the first time I flash my phone, lol
Oh nvm l fixed it

Repair your phone using PC Companion. Just follow the instructions from the program and your phone should be fully functional in a couple of minutes.
same problem here
my xperia arc s turns on until the sony logo and then stays there forever.
It doesn't seem to charge either when i put it on charge as the red light is off .
How to connect with companion since it doesn't do anything ?

Visit the support zone, use the specific tool for when phone does not boot up. Just look around, you will find it. It will not require you to turn on your phone.
Thanks
Got it ...
Used Flashtool and i am back to stock firmware
THANK YOU very much indeed

To use pc companion your phone has to boot up and it's impossible to update or fix phone that doesn't boot up via PC Companion you can only fix it with flashtool or SEUS,SEUS can fix the phone when it's turned off it's just like flashtool.

Wrong.
PC Companion has the solution for when phone does not boot up, SEUS does not have it.
