Hi everyone!
Me and a colleague bought s4 minis a month or so after it was released here in Sweden. Both of us are running CM10.1 but there is a big difference. He has very good signal strength just like he had with his old phone. My signal strength is ranging from zero to decent while I also had very good signal strength with my old phone.
I checked his baseband version and he got I9195XXUAMG8 (latest baseband for many countries in mid/south/east europe) while I have I9195XXUAMH1 (latest version for the Nordic countries). My baseband version better fits the location as Sweden is a nordic country.
Both of us bought the phones in recognized, domestic shops and ran all OTA upgrades before installing CM.
My question is: could these differences in firmware affect the signal strength?
I did some research and found out that the CSC portion only contains carrier settings for data, what about the other parts?

You're right about CSC. It also affect use of KIES (I don't use it much, but is good for emergency recovery), which means you won't get updates via KIES. in your case I would suggest you to try different ROM (I9195XXUAMH2_I9195OXXAMH4_BTU). Use Odin and see if it makes any difference.
Flashed I9195XXUAMG8 baseband (latest baseband for many countries in mid/south/east europe) and my initial tests look just as bad as with the nordic baseband. However I found out that my colleague changed operator so it might just be that his operator's 4g coverage is better. I tested for a short while with 3g only and my reception was as good as with my old phone.
Will report back later for anyone who is interested...

Hi,
I have a question,
I recently updated to the Generic v4.0.1.A.0.283 firmware, and have the 8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028A-49 baseband.
Does this baseband include the ROGERS/AT&T north american 3g frequencies? and if not what should I do.
Ever since I started using these generic roms my reception seems to be a bit dodgy, I don't get 3G reception in a lot of places where I should be getting, which makes me wonder if I have HSDPA 850Mhz enabled.
Nevermind, found it

Dear forum members
My name is Christophe and I live in Belgium. In february 2013, I purchased a galaxy note 2 LTE from Germany (T-mobile).
I've read a lot on this forum but I can't find the solution to the problems I'm having.
The reason why I bought the phone in Germany was because the N7105 model wasn't available on the Belgian market.
Phone Specs:
AP: N7105XXDMB2
CP: N7105XXDLL5
CSC: N7105DTMDMA1
PDA: MB2
PHONE: LL5
CSC: MA1 (DTM)
And at the moment I'm running on fully stock 4.1.2 (no root at all)
The problem:
When I opened the box and inserted my simcard for the first time, the phone was "locked" only emergency calls... Now I already solved this problem by using a thread on the forum (unlock N7105).
My provider is PROXIMUS (Belgium) and I used to have 3G and 4G all the time when I was in the good area. Now since a month or two it seems that the phone blocks when connecting to 3G. I see one blink of the green arrow, it disconnects and gets to H+ connection. (This happens all the time)
Now I maybe thought it was a sim problem so I went and replaced it, but no luck, still the same problem. The guy in the store said that my provider (proximus) probably has no agreement with T-mobile Germany for the use of 3G and 4G...
Another question...
Which firmware can be installed on my note 2 LTE? Is it possible to install firmware from other countries without any carries stuff on?
Can anyone help me? What should I do?
Thank you in advance
Lode
I've been using the One-V I bought on the internet, It's from India I believe. The phone works great good speeds. Now I have changed to T-mobile but I only get Edge connectivity. I see on the specs that the Asia version of this phone doesn't cover the 1700 band. Can I just flash the US version of the radio to the phone, or is it that the hardware doesn't run 1700?
I've tried flashing a T-mobile radio but no difference, so I'm wondering if it's hardware?
Cheers
As title states,
I own an N7105, originally bought in Hong Kong to be used in Hong Kong.
I am now in Canada, Toronto to be exact and I am using Rogers as my network provider.
2G,3G and 4G all work fine, but not sure about network coverage. I use a N7105XXDLL5 baseband on my current ROM.
My battery drains like crazy when switching between a low 3G coverage to 2G or low 4G to 3G.
So I was wondering, which modem should I use to have the best coverage in Canada/Rogers? Since all modems in the N7105 (International) means support for carriers outside of the North American carriers, as they have their own variants sold.
Or, should I just stick with my current baseband as it is more 'international', 'widely used' or 'all rounded'?
Much help appreciated,
Nicholas
Anyone know?
No one knows?
I recently switched to the Z5 Premium single sim version and can't seem to get a 4G+/LTE-A connection at all. I can get regular 4G etc. fine. It's definitely not just the symbol either, because the speeds are regular 4G and not 4G+. When I put the sim back in my Galaxy Note 4 it works with 4G+ perfectly. The phone is simfree from Amazon UK on unbranded firmware. I see the modem is a Telefonica UK one though, not sure if this makes a difference. Three Ireland use band 20 for 4G+, so I know it's compatible. Would flashing firmware from a different country help? Is there a way to flash the modem or baseband of a different firmware to make it switch to 4G+, maybe Three Sweden or something? Is it a problem with the network? Thanks, Griff

I would check your APN first to make sure it matches your carrier, if that does not make a difference I would find a firmware that matches your carrier. On AU customized I get the 4G icon, on Singtel I get LTE and VoLTE but the speeds are pretty much the same. I am in the US though and what they call LTE here is not really LTE. So on some firmwares I get the 4G icon and some the LTE icon but like I said the speeds are the same.
