Has anyone else noticed that received wifi calls drop after exactly 1 minute 26 seconds? Outbound calls don't seem to have the problem, only inbound. I thought I was crazy at first, but it seems others are experiencing the same behavior. If you Google "t-mobile galaxy note 3 1:26", the first result is a posting on the T-Mobile support site reporting exactly this problem. From that posting, it appears that this does not happen on T-Mo to T-Mo calls. So far, I can reproduce this problem 100% of the time and it is always exactly 1:26.
I have called into T-Mobile and started a trouble ticket and should hear back in a day or two, but I wanted to see if this is a universal problem with Note 3/T-Mo and the best place I could think of to check on that was XDA.
Please test when possible and respond if you are also experiencing this issue.
Thank you!

Agreed. I keep getting WiFi disconnects and a message pop up saying my WiFi connection is unstable. Wrong. My WiFi is fine and works on all my other devices just great. I have LTE at home and unlimited data so I don't even turn WiFi on anymore.
I'm not getting any messages about wifi being unstable. It's been working very well. It is only on received calls when in Wifi Calling mode. The calls drop after exactly 1:26, every time. The post on the T-Mobile support site has added 2-3 more people who are having the same problem. Can't seem to find a commonality among the the affected except that it is always 1:26, always on inbound wifi calling calls from non-T-Mobile numbers, and seems to only happen in this way on the T-Mobile Note 3.
If anyone could give it a test, I would appreciate it. Just call your Note 3 from a non-T-Mobile device while in Wifi calling mode and see how long it takes to drop the call (if it does at all).

I just had this happen to me today at work. Three incoming calls from my wife, all dropped at 1:25, 1:26, 1:27.
I'm wondering if this is only on stock ROM's. I'm rooted and don't remember having this issue before rooting.
I wonder if a custom ROM will help... ;o) Not that I really need another reason to try one.
I also have the issue with the dropped wifi calls, I know its not my network as my S4 works perfectly
I noticed some wifi calling issues. I wasn't that it was dropping at a specific time though. I would dial the number and it would sit there doing nothing. It wasn't stock either. I was on MyRom. Strange. Wifi signal is great btw.

I don't get many calls like that but now that you mention it (not to mention it just happened 5x in a row) I had it happen on mine and the gf's phone as well...
need this shiz fixed
link to T-mobile thread?
did you ever hear anything back?
My house has horrible signal so I rely on the wifi calling so yes this issue needs to be resolved asap
I am having dropped calls not only with wifi calling but also with regular calls.
Tmo rep rold me there is an update coming soon to address the wifi calling issues. Not sure if she was being truthful but that what she said.
N3 anticipating Tweaked perfection
I have this issue as well. Seems others have narrowed down its circumstances.

This is so frustrating & we have yet to get a fix.
I have the same issue expect my carrier is verizon.

I haven't had any issue with wifi connection, even when the call drops it stays connected, its just that it disconnects.
I've noticed frequent random disconnects on t-mobile to t-mobile wifi calling as well but not as easily time-able.
Any updates?
Anyone have an progress on this?
I have the same problem as everyone else. 1:26 every incoming call. Bam... dropped.
Very frustrating, especially with how reliable it was on the S4.
Anyway, hopefully we'll see a fix in the first T-Mobile update.
I've also subscribed to the T-Mobile thread, though I expect this thread to be my first answer...

Same here and another co worker with the note 3 is having the same issues, opened a support ticket with tmobile so lets see where it goes ...nowhere more than likely
---------- Post added at 12:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:30 AM ----------
So after some testing im finding when using google voice number the calls will drop. When i get called on my tmobile number on either wifi or cell the call is solid, but if it comes through the google voice number it will drop every time.

Anyone else running a Tmobile Note 3 on the AT&T network? Is there any difference in reception or LTE? I've seen in other threads people complain that they dropped calls and had less reception with the Tmobile hardware on ATT, I'd be curious to see DB measurements and not simply rely on the reception bars. Also heard complaints that the Tmobile N3 doesn't hand onto ATT LTE signals well.
Also using the Tmobile Note 3 on the ATT network does;
1) does tethering still work?
2) does it work with an AT&T microcell?

My wife and I both use straight talk which runs off of AT&T towers and when I'm at the house I have full bars and my speed was 20 if I remember correctly, at work I get 3-4 bars but never any reception problems. Hope this helps a Lil bit.
I'm running my N900T on AT&T with CM 11 and have noticed that my phone randomly drops back to Edge and even G sometimes. It has completely lost data access occasionally too. I put my phone in airplane mode and it goes back to full LTE, but that's bothering me. I don't know how to fix it.

You can download Advanced Signal Status. Then go to additional info then device info and you can change the network mode to LTE only to force it to reconnect to LTE always.

I tested the app here, and although it says my LTE signal is at 100%, my data connection is being disabled every time I make a call. I tried changing the preferred network type to LTE only in the phone info menu and calls drop as soon as I hit the call button on the dialer. Also, in the phone info menu, the option to enable/disable data shows only as "enable" during a call, which means data is disabled, and clicking it does nothing. As soon as I hang up, my data connection restarts and goes to 2G. I don't know if this is a problem with CM 11, so I'll try a Touchwiz ROM in a minute. Any other suggestions?

No problems at all with touchwiz. Probably a CM11 problem.
I did not find anything in my verizon to activate so I simply turned on the feature with my phone and lost ability to call.
To make a long story short, after pulling Sim card, battery, clearing cache, partition cache etc I still could not make or recieve calls on my verizon note 4.
After activating the advanced calling feature, it asks you to wait about 5 min and reboot.
I waited about 20 min and lost my ability to do calls afterwards. Even after turning off the feature I still could not get or send calls.
Here's what fixed it..
1. Turn off advanced calling feature in the phone.
2. Then reboot
3. After that you can turn it on or off and calling is restored.
Just wanted to share as I could find no help online.
Turned it on after the upgrade a couple days ago. Works for me. Get a little "HD" icon on calls and the video button. Haven't tried video, and don't notice a difference in call quality yet. But I've not made many calls and even few to other verizon users.
Seems the voice is still dependent upon the regular voice channel bring intact.
I was on hospital wifi and recieved a call but the call still dropped when walking deeper into the building where 4g was lost. Point being it did not handshake over to wifi.
I think only video does that.
But all of my calls have been good, but like you, I can't tell if a real change yet or placebo.

I noticed on my Note 4, the stock dialer keypad has the video call icon grayed out. Is this correct? I was able to receive a HD call as well as a video call.
Seems it is greyed out until the other party actually connects then it checks their status and only then are you allowed to push the icon button and it will tell you if the party is not a candidate
Even when the icon becomes active is still appears grayed out, maybe it only turns color once a connection is made you do the HD service?

Not particularly intuitive. I'm not sure how I initiate a video call if the icon is greyed out. The video call I got was a test from a Verizon store employee testing the system. He wasn't all that sure about the feature. However, once I received his call, I can use Recent. There is a video icon available in this screen. But, the keypad video icon stayed greyed out even if I manually typed his phone number. Non-intuitive.
well it was practically quite funny when I called Verizon tech support and I got a level 2 tech. I ended up solving my own problem and teaching her the whole time, she asked me if my phone was damaged because she couldn't retrieve any information off of it.... of course I neglected to tell her I had all of that stuff blocked!
To me had dangerous situation. Couldn't get call in my house as my 4g signal is iffy (cell signal fine).... HD voice doesn't automatically swap to old cell towers if no 4g. Not good for people who rely on cell phones for jobs at hospital

Verizon says you can tell it's activated if you have the video calling in your contacts groups which I do.
However do you guys have this greyed out like here?

That must mean it's activated... Or it would be available.
My next screen shows checked as here...
But still trying to confirm it's actually working... Guess I'll never know till I connect with someone else that has it?
I have a similar problem. Making calls seems to work OK, but anytime someone calls me it is just dead air. I have tried toggling HD voice on and off, restarting the phone, and popping the battery out and removing the SIM, etc. Nothing seems to work.

Mine looks exactly like your screenshots. I also was able to test both HD calling and video calling with a relative who has a Note 4 as well. I couldnt really notice a difference with HD calling since we both were using BT but the HD icon was on during the call then we switched to video calling and it worked without any problems.

Did you try the sequence that fixed mine in post #1?
Turn off the feature. Then reboot and let your system reconnect to the network while the feature is off.
Then turn it back on.
Seems once you activate the feature the first time and the switch is turned on for you in the network it needs to connect to your phone while the feature is off... Once connected, it stays connected when the feature is turned back on.
Once you're past this phase, seems you can turn it off and on at will without issues.

I tried that. I even did a factory reset with no luck. So basically I did a factory reset for no reason. I went into My Verizon and removed the feature from my account entirely and it seems to work fine now.

Strange.. I never went into my verizon at all... Correction, I did look but couldn't find the option so I just activated it only on my phone.
I had Verizon check and they said they show it activated.
They definitely have a few bugs yet getting set up.

Calls will not work on WiFi since Verizon has not enabled this feature yet citing there network is good enough where they don't need to rely on WiFi.......that's literally what they said. Advanced calling strictly enables VOLTE which is voice over LTE as opposed to over their old 3G CDMA network. Also allows for native video chat which also uses LTE. They said WiFi calling is planned but not a priority.
If they let you do WiFi calling they wouldn't get to sell the network extenders at an outrageous price. They get no benefit out of allowing WiFi calling.
Edit: bastards.
I turned on Advanced Calling on my Note 4 and haven't had a problem. However, I tried turning it on on my wife's LG G3 and she had the same issue. She could make or receive any calls, but could send and receive texts. It took a while playing around with it, but I finally got turned it off and it's fine now. Not sure why her's won't work.
Just recieved my G4 from T-Mobile. Factory fresh device here. When using the Netflix app while on wifi im recieving problems. Basically sometimes doesnt log me on at all. Then when i do switch to cellular data, it then works. Also the videos take longer then usual to start if it does start at all. I have the Note 4 right beside me connected to the same wifi, works without a problem. I did factory reset again to eliminate singular instances. Doesnt seem to effect the outcome. Anyone else with similar problems??
No issues for me on my Verizon G4 on Wi-Fi.
No issues for my tmo variant.
Does this issue replicate on other Wi-Fi networks as well?
I haven't used Netflix long on the G4 but when I was checking it out it seemed 100% fine. Logged in superfast and playback as well. I did testing vs my Note 2 and the G4 blew it away how fast everything was loading etc.
I had to turn off Wi-fi calling. I couldn't sign into Netflix with it on. Netflix is working fine for me with it off.

Not likely, in my case at least. The router in question is an ASUS RT-N16 running a Tomato variant with QoS rules that have been working flawlessly for me for two years. In addition, I wasn't even using Wifi calling, it was simply enabled. My N5, N7, and Galaxy S2 have no problems signing in. The error I received had to do with the network time. As soon as I disabled Wifi calling, the error resolved.
Turning off wifi calling worked. Thanks for the advice.
So after getting the replacement G4 in store my Netflix not working either without Wifi calling off. The old phone was able to play back fine with it on. Can anything else be tried. Since Wifi calling is a feature I use at my house since we have bad signal area and only use Netflix on Wifi so they both need to be working. I tried everything from Netflix chat will try a modem/router reboot again.
I did another factory reset and only connected the 5G wireless signal (thought maybe that was the issue) it worked right away but once google service updated again thats it wont work without Wifi calling off so...
Anyone other Tmobile users can test this or Netflix and say if they need to have Wifi Calling off or not ?
I do believe it's something with the Google Service update since I tried it again same issue. I did find out you don't have to turn Wifi Calling off but change it to Cellular Network Preferred instead of Wifi Preferred. It does work if you change it back to Wifi sometimes but only if the video is preloaded but it's hit or miss if it works but if you play another video you will have to change it back to Cell or Off.
WiFi + "WiFi Calling" + NetFlix does not work
I had the same problem with my new "LG G4" phone. If connected to WiFi and the "Wi-Fi Calling" feature is enabled then I get these NetFlix app errors:
- Please make sure that your device has network connectivity and the Date and Time settings are acurate (-3)
or
- Sorry, we could not reach the Netflix service. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please visit the Netflix website (12001).
I tested on multiple very high quality WiFi networks.
The workaround was to:
- Disable "Wi-Fi Calling" when using WiFi and NetFlix
or
- Don't use WiFi, instead use T-Mobile's cellular data network
Thanks but look @ Sfkn2 post at the top member is with Tmobile and said no problems. I replied around that time no issues but now I have the problems. Yes those are the errors.
Someone is to blame and they all just want to point fingers at each other. It's on Tmobile to fix this and that probably won't happen.

Yes that's what strange that I had 1 of them working on it but both don't now unless I change to Cellular Network Preferred . Can you tell me if your on a 5GHz or 2.4GHz connection or if both work and then your Router model. The connection shouldn't matter much since I had it working on both and found the 5GHz was strong enough to use in most my house and was using that most of the times. Might try changing the channels or something.
I have the Asus RT-AC68U (not the Tmobile one) I bought this just after release.
Streaming to my phone using the Emby app from my Emby server works fine as well.
I know we have a work around to atleast Stream but need to get this sent to the right places for a fix.

Makes no difference whether it's 2.4 or 5. Dynamic IP setting. QOS option is off.
I posted the issue over at http://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/3bedec/lg_g4_netflix_not_working_with_wifi_calling/ and got a response from a Tmobile Employee which I believe is on the Engineering side. They are going to report the issue so it's a start to see if they can fix it.
I've been receive this error message when connected to WiFi. Not sure why or what is causing it. I have yet to be able to link the error message to an issue, however it is still annoying to see. Any suggestions?
Secondly, I have the T-Mobile version and can't seem to text over WiFi when not connected to the cellular network. Any suggestions?

Yes. Your point being?
I am with T-mobile as well and seeing this often. I seem to encounter it more often when I have a weak WiFi connection if this helps.
I don't have T-Mobile, nor WiFi calling enabled, but if that's the case... try going to Settings -> WiFi Calling -> Menu and disable the WiFi Range Alert, see if this stops those messages.

Alright, it has been a few days so I have a little more knowledge about the issue. It seems to occur more when my phone disconnects from the cellular network and reconnects. In addition to the voice service blocked message I'm also getting a data service blocked message.

I've been using Android phones since the OG Droid and this is the only one that has had a notification message to specifically state that I've lost reception but that doesn't mean the other phones always had reception. It just means I might not have noticed when they didn't. In other words, I really doubt this is any kind of problem with your phone. Just common dropped service that happens occasionally.
Getting this issue as well with all 3 of our LG G4 phones. T-Mobile swapped our SIM cards and within 30 minutes, I had the same issue. Is this causing any of you to have dropped calls and or people attempt to call you but your phone never rings, however you just get a voicemail notification? Because we are seeing that and some other little odd issues with calling.
I haven't linked the messages to any issues, and I have yet to have the SIM changed. But the messages are annoying to get.
Just recently I got a data service blocked message as well.
For me, they always come in pairs. Our T-Mobile service is good here. And the wireless is rock solid with all other devices.
I'm curious. Are people only getting this on wifi? And what is your network setup? Are you statically assigning your phone the same IP address?
So I've had both of these issues as well as problems with WiFi calling. I've tried working with TMO support which has resulted in nothing so far. I am about ready to take this one back and go back to HTC which is a shame because I really like the device when it works.
I am having trouble forcing my phone to do WiFi calling. I have a netgear r7000 with ddwrt
Any tips?

Unfortunately, there are not many settings on the phone's end other than on/off, WiFi preferred and cellular preferred.
What setting do you have your phone on?

Once I registered the phone with the network (Via: Settings>More>Cellular networks>Network operators) Wi-Fi calling got better.
It is kinda shifty because it will try to use the network even if the connection won't support a call.
Then again it could be the APN.
No trouble for me when testing it out.

I think you're onto something. My T-Mobile WiFi calling was working OK, but it would take up to 30 seconds to connect a call and other times WiFi calling would drop for no reason.
I did what you suggested, but WiFi calling was still goofy (didn't always work right). So, I did a reboot and now, WiFi calling is as fast as normal calling, I haven't seen any dropping of WiFi calling AND for the first time, I'm seeing the WiFi calling symbol on the call screen. Prior to that, it only said "WiFi calling" on my lock screen and the pull down under the signal icon.
Thanks for the tip!

Did you guys try a new sim?

I would have issues with after the call was connected fine and talking several minutes the other person couldn't hear me and then the call would just drop. I could hear them fine but they couldn't hear me at all. So I changed the
Wifi Call setting to Cellular Preferred. I'm going to try registering with network and rebooting and changing it back to Wifi Preferred and see if that improves the operation. Anyone seen that issue and did this resolve it?

The instructions seemed to work for me. So far, so good. I just had a wifi call and it didn't drop and the end user heard me ok. Thanks!

Crazy. I use Wi-Fi preferred and it takes a second to kick on. When it does it works pretty well.
However I do get a notification that I'm not connected to T-mobile (Even on Wi-Fi).

Does airplane mode, then turn on Wi-Fi only allow T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling/SMS to work?

Yes it does. At least for me it does. It also does MMS. See some of my screenshots in previous pages. Airplane on and I am making calls as example of I working. Here's a screenshot of SMS and MMS over Wi-Fi. Probably would have been better taking video.

Yea that's not working for me either. When in airplane mode with WiFi on all calls fail. WiFi calling is on and WiFi preferred.
Don't know what to say as it works for me. Haven't had a problem yet.

I'm having issues with texting over WiFi. For some reason it has trouble sending mms and occasionally it fails to send even normal sms.
So I finally got WiFi calling in airplane mode to work. You have to turn on airplane mode then turn on WiFi and if you dont have WiFi calling working yet then try toggling WiFi calling in settings off then on. If that doesn't work reboot while in airplane mode. This should do the trick. Also I noticed that putting phone on WiFi calling will not automatically turn off cell signal. And if you decide to turn off airplane mode and back on again later then WiFi calling may not work again and all you should have to do then is toggle WiFi calling again.
I know some of this sounds like a pain but in places with very little service this can save your battery.
Thank you, hopefully future updates improve this.
Little wonky here also
Noticed it becomes disconnected just sitting on my desk 10 ft from the router. Wish it would turn off the cellular radio to preserve battery. Initially my tests using airplane mode were not working. Saw this thread and indeed it is working now.
Are there any APN settings or Tmo-Account settings needed to enable Wifi Calling? What about specific SIM versions? Let's make an actual list of requirements so that people can troubleshoot on their own.
I have the most current sim. Whatever the settings the phone has with the exception of iPv6 I changed that to IPv4/IPv6.
