Is it so impossible to port CM or at least AOSP ROM to this device version? Stock-only full of Samsung bloatware looks like a discrimination versus full-functional official CM builds for I9190 and I9195.
If someone maintains a custom ROM for I9192, let me know please. I do own a device and have enough time for testing and bugreporting.

i'm looking for the same thing ...but no luck so far
I'm looking for the same thing!
For what I know the problem is the specific samsung dual sim implementation in framework/phone/sms/settings, and modem libs.
The only CM ROM working on dual sim I can found is on Sony, there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518451
I think we can only hope for some love from experienced dev to make some port

Hi Guys, hope you can help me
I've just received the official samsung MHL adapter for the galaxy S2 but unfortunately it isn't working for me.
I'm running Cyanogen 7 on my rooted galaxy s2 which I think is the problem. Can anybody advise me of any custom roms that are 'good' and support the MHL function? if not what should i do? I presume I can go back to official samsung rom but can somebody confirm this for me? If you can provide a download link too that would be great.
Many thanks guys
Robbie
MHL doesn't work on CM7 and I know it isn't on their priority list to fix. I've tried most ROMs and there's not a lot in it, different people will swear that different ROMs are tons better than others. If you don't know what you're looking for or where to start go with Villain ROM for now, then explore to see of something else works better for you. MHL will run on any other ROM, official or custom (except maybe MIUI, someone will have to clarify).

MHL will work on custom ROMs that are based on stock. As of now, none of the AOSP based ROMs supports mhl. That includes MIUI as well as CM7

It depends on the kernel I think.
Hello all,
Is there a ROM that exists for 7105 that has 422 and the samsung apps ? Or at least replacement apps for the stylus app and handwritten text recognition and the samsung keyboard where the numbers are always there ?
I understand the idea behind the CM rom which is to keep it identical on all devices but to me it takes out the great advantage of the 7105 which is the stylus, i find it very convenient to write with the stylus and if it's not possible because CM devs don't want to adapt their rom to this particular feature I have to look somewhere else.
The roms based on 412 are good but they would be better with a 422 base
In the worst case are there any plans from Samsung to release a 422 rom or are we forgotten now that they've switched their focus to the SG4 ?
I come from HTC with a DHD and what the devs are making with this device is truly amazing like having roms BASED on CM but modded to adapt them to the DHD and so I was wondering if it was possible to get the same system on the 7105 ?
Thanks a lot
It is not possible. It's not the devs.

Hello,
Thanks for the bad news, better than no news I guess
Just out of curiosity, what's the ptoblem ?
The samsung specific drivers from the spen wont work in 422 (but do in 412) ?
Thanks
No its the proprietary touch wiz code.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Ah, so we need a touchwiz code which is compatible with 422 or is it impossible to extract the touchwiz code from the official roms ?
Sorry for the stupid questions but I'm trying to learn something there
Would it help if we start some noise with Samsung for them to work on their code from 412 so that it can be used in 422 ? After all there must not be that many differences in this specific area from 412 to 422 ?
Thanks
Edit : Apparently Samsung will release 422 for SGS3 and SGN2 in "May-June"....good
I think extracting the code would cause legal problems or something and the code is not cross compatible between android version.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
OK, thanks for the news, since Samsung SHOULD (that's what they've said) update the devices in "may/june" I'll just wait for that and use CM without the samsung apps or cleanrom ace without the 422 goodies.....Life is hard....
But then again, it's just a phone ha ha ha
FYI a dual boot kernel is being worked upon by using which you can run both samsung and custom firmware.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Argh ...
Shame on you, now you've got me all winded up again, I was ready to calm down and wait UP TO 2 MONTHS, but of course now I want this dual boot kernel NOW !!!
Your fault
So....hem....where can I find some infos on this ?
Thanks

Most Users Bought this phone because it has DUAL SIM Capabilities And CM ,Though Great No doubt, Can't Give that Function So If I wanted CM I could have bought a nexus not samsung device and My Favorite is touchwiz based custom roms and modify it to my taste as I don't want to lose functions I paid for.
My regards and that is my own opinion and also thnx for cm developers surely there is users who want cm like yourself

Unless Samsung opens up the source code for the dual sim function then it is almost impossible to implement it on CM no matter if you get a million votes. Dual sim is not a PURE ANDROID feature from which CM is based. Maybe some Chinese coder can come up with a solution we really don't know. Even MIUI which is Chinese does not have dual sim AFAIK.

Hey guys.
I've recently started getting into building AOSP bases ROMs for our I9190/I9195 devices (sorry I9192 users. Somehow I find it difficult to trust those who have two separate phone numbers).
Anyway- a lot of people seemed to like his Carbon JB ROM, myself included. Would it be worth my time building Carbon JB from source and uploading nightly/ as regular as I can?
Bit of a lame question, but I need to know if anyone would actually be interested before I go setting up a new workspace and initialize the Carbon git.

First of all I'd like to thank prox for his time and effort, carbon is a nice rom but I prefer pac. That said the more roms the better

Forget PAC ROM, focus on carbon if that's what you want to do. When you're comfortable with it maybe try aokp :sly:

That's all great.
Many thanks.
Where do you put the new roms because the elder threads are all closed now?
And please do a full port of the (new) slim rom.

new roms will be in my d-h account, is visible on carbon thread. just look in folder.

Sad to see you go man, you really made xda worth while, was really looking forward to your 2.0 ghz kernel, dont know if there will be any developers up for the challange.

Hi, I9192 users are mostly those who have different jobs or working in different country’s that is why they have two sim card and not because they cheat there partner, therefore they need most help and understanding, and if You can try to build Carbon for I9192 than you can prove you can do it all.
carbon built on 3.11.2013
s4 mini i9195 serranoltexx download is ready
i9190 serrano3gxx is uploading now..
i will reopen carbon thread until someone take it from me..

I agree, we have 2 sims for work/personal, most of us, at least. I left my i9000 with cm because I had to carry a dumbphone also for work...
Not about proving something, but more about helping... We with i9192 are very dissapointed that there's no alternative to stock rom
It seems people are interested!
Proxuser seems to have made it clear in this thread that he'll still be giving our devices some dev-attention. Thanks for that, Proxuser.
I9192 Users: I was just kidding about the dual sim malarkey, it'd be great to see your devices getting some attention. I'll compile a Carbon/Pure CM-10.2 ROM for your device soon. I'll need testers, since I don't own the device. I do feel however, that people are gonna start to lose interest in ROMs which aren't based on Android 4.4 or above.
Just to be clear- I'm just a compiler. Proxuser is the one for developer consultation.

I'm available for dummy testing your i9192 builds
I cooked some stockmod for personnal use but can't wait for real stuff !
Due to running on the same SOC as the Galaxy S4 Mini, that is officially supported and stable with CM10.2 and nightlys for CM11. Having the source code to our 4.2.2 kernel on Samsung's website, And having the Source code for the S4 Mini AOSP Kernel. i must ask, due to a 2 year or so break from android development, couldn't we just port the kernel changes from the S4 Mini, aside from the display driver, and get a functional CM10.1 or 11 Kernel? If that is the case, i can start building immediately. the only thing left would be to port CM itself onto the device.
Starting with CM11 may be difficult though, and 10.1 seems more plausible since we already have most of the files required for a 4.2.2 build, aside from the AOSP kernel.
Sorry if this seems noobish, last device i did development work on was the Original Droid Incredible. witch had a sister phone, such as this, the Original Evo 4g. all it required was some firmware swaps to get a functional rom ported.
I must also ask, if this is the case that is. Why has no one yet attempted this? Is there no development interest in this device? The SM-T217S has a pretty good SOC, not top of the line, but defiantly gets the job done. Without touchwiz and all the bloatware Samsung likes, i imagine this device could be extremely fast.
I'll test for you.. Lol
