Hi can anybody tell me which is the best cpu quiet governor to use as I can't find explanations for them anywhere advise please anybody
You mean power management? Just leave it on balanced. Governors are same as all other Android kernel governors, seriously Google "android governors" and you'll find some info.

Hi everyone
What is the maximum frequency desire can be overclocked to?
And where can i get the kernel?
Thank you in advance

Max stable OC is 1190MHz and can be found here. Scroll down to the kernels and see whats what.
One caveat: 1190 is not universally stable. Some desires can handle it, but many have found that the phone freezes requiring a battery pull. Overclocking to 1152 seems stable for everyone afaik.

I stand corrected
Can anyone help me to use setcpu?
It always return to the default frequency 998mhz!

Hi.
I tried many kernels and many oc profiles with setcpu and now I'm back on stock frequencies 998 mhz, because with that it is stable, batterydrain is "normal" and the quadrant score isn't a score for me...

I generally stay with on demand but sometimes use conservative. While I like conservative it seems to sometimes take too long to bump up the processor and will cause a bit of lag after wake up.

I use Interactive 245 - 1113 MHz. It is similar to on demand but is more responsive in increasing CPU speed. I get great battery life, too.
You can read more about governor details here

I've been using interactive and conservative. They've both offered good life. I'm using the streamline5 kernel now with conservative though.
Does anyone know why there is only underclocking avalible for our devices ? As yet I can't find a custom kernal that can overclock the cpu ! Any suggestions ? Thanks

Overclock may cause damage to your device. Don't do that.

because he is a benchmark freak, and wants to see how its device is performing for one time, nothing wrong with that, if its his choice, let it.

Have a look in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647993
Theres only a 1 in 3 chance it will work (different variations of the tegra 3) even then its not recommended.
The One X reaches it's thermal limits quite easily, this is why it is not a good idea.
Essentially the Tegra 3 is already at its limits in the One X.

Cpu limit is 90c so we have room there, the battery limit for charging is 48 but the battery should be rated for upto 60c.

I know its fast already just like pushing the limits, had my desire hd clocked at 1.7Ghz. Thanks for the info.... Appologies for the wrong thread !

Hi guys, I just tried the n.o.v.a.3 and it looks amazing. However when I go into a more complicated sense it lags a lot. I overclocked the CPU using Faux123's kernel but just a little improvement. So it must be the gpu.
P.S. I also read a post that TF201's Gpu is able to lock at 600mhz and it hits 73fps in glbenchmark..... So is there any possible to overclock one x's Gpu?

Yes. Currently its getting basic kernel source stable first is the priority. Then oc and gpu oc will come.

If its laggy then it need to be updated, not overclock the hardware. I doubt there is a game or app that the hox fails to meet the minimum specs and requires you to overclock to meet them.

Ye.....gameloft really needs to work on HOX....though they released Modern Combat 3 for HOX, the graphics is really bad compares to SGS2...Hope the graphics remains awesome after N.o.v.a.3 upgrade....

Hi everybody this is my first post on xda.
love the forum!
I searched the forum about thi little problem im having with Viper x rom since i got the last OTA update 2.2.1, but did not find any answer to this or my searching skill sux.
So when ever i try to set Cpu governor to for example Conservative my htc one x reboots by it self after a minute or so.
Setting my Cpu governor to conservative does not stick after rebooting,
I am stock kernel i tried using faux m007 but my device rebooted again.
What am i doing wrong here?
Nice to be here and thank you all for help.
Use interactive. That's the recommended governor.

Doesn't conservative lock the CPU to its lowest speed? That is probably why it's crashing
