HTC one x Gpu overclock ? - HTC One X

Hi guys, I just tried the n.o.v.a.3 and it looks amazing. However when I go into a more complicated sense it lags a lot. I overclocked the CPU using Faux123's kernel but just a little improvement. So it must be the gpu.
P.S. I also read a post that TF201's Gpu is able to lock at 600mhz and it hits 73fps in glbenchmark..... So is there any possible to overclock one x's Gpu?

Yes. Currently its getting basic kernel source stable first is the priority. Then oc and gpu oc will come.

If its laggy then it need to be updated, not overclock the hardware. I doubt there is a game or app that the hox fails to meet the minimum specs and requires you to overclock to meet them.

Ye.....gameloft really needs to work on HOX....though they released Modern Combat 3 for HOX, the graphics is really bad compares to SGS2...Hope the graphics remains awesome after N.o.v.a.3 upgrade....

Overclock may cause damage to your device. Don't do that.

first this is the wrong place for such threads and second why dont u do some reading in the kernel sections, its explained there and third who the f*** wants to overclock this phone??? its blazing fast already!

because he is a benchmark freak, and wants to see how its device is performing for one time, nothing wrong with that, if its his choice, let it.

Have a look in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647993
Theres only a 1 in 3 chance it will work (different variations of the tegra 3) even then its not recommended.
The One X reaches it's thermal limits quite easily, this is why it is not a good idea.
Essentially the Tegra 3 is already at its limits in the One X.

Cpu limit is 90c so we have room there, the battery limit for charging is 48 but the battery should be rated for upto 60c.

I know its fast already just like pushing the limits, had my desire hd clocked at 1.7Ghz. Thanks for the info.... Appologies for the wrong thread !

Processor

The one v has a 1 ghz single core processor so my question is is it possible that the processor from our one V behave like a dual core processor ? Ist it possible
Sry for my bad english xd
Sent from my HTC One V using xda premium
I'll assume when you mean behave like a dual core you mean the processing power of a dual core.
Most likely not however users are reporting (assuming you flashed a kernel that allows overclocking) that you can do 1.5Ghz stable (which I am currently doing), however Titanium allows up to 2.0Ghz.
Not dual core, but it's as good as can be.
I have the kiss kernel up to 1,5 ghz on 2ghz my phone frezzes how can this be fixed?

Then just try higher frequency above 1.5 and below 2.0
So you can find your best frequency clock..:good:
Because it's depends on what kind of activities that peoples doing in their phone.
I'm running at 1.7ghz on my primoc with no issues so far
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
My phone withstands the 2ghz constantly, but I don't think it's necessary. Every phone has different CPU, and so withstands different freq.
Sent from my ONE V with CM10
My phone runs fine till 1.7 ghz.
It depends from phone to phone. However even after overclock you will not find a lot of difference in performance.
I've tried it but it frezzes only up to 1,5 ghz is able to work for my phone
Sent from my HTC One V using xda premium
Then use 1.5 ghz.
imo anything above 806 mhz feels the same if not playing games. When you play games then 1.4ghz is good enough.
Lil bit an off topic question here. What is the best governor for playing games. I'm currently OC'd at 1.2GHz?

Overclocking One V

A few questions about overclocking
First, is this even working? I'm using the latest PA ROM.
What are the best possible settings that don't damage the phone?
Sent from my One V using xda premium
Yes overclocking is definitely working. U can notice a sharp difference between lower and higher values...don't overclock above 1.7 GHz it may damage ur phone...

You guys.... stop scarying the people already. Overclocking your device will not break it in any case, most likely will shorten YOUR BATTERY LIFE! But that's it! You will not fry your phone, motherboard, display or whatever. I can ramp my phone upto 2ghz and it has nothing... But 1024 mhz or 1200 is enough!
I had OCed hellboy to 2 GHz...it felt stable but the phone crashed every time i opened an app...anyways 1.2 is best works so smoothly...best for everyday use...

When I overclock to 1.5ghz I don't notice any difference at all ...why ?also if I sometimes try 2.0ghz the phone becomes laggy like hell

Difference is there. Just to be sure that your phone works at that range (and its not a rom/kernel problem) - install Perfmon from the market and open the CPU section - It will then show you in real time at what range your CPU works. And if 2.0 gh becomes laggy it is because your cpu can go that high. Some cpu's can and others can't. That's just how they work. My old HTC Hero could go upto 691 from 526 default but other HTC Heroes could go upto 740....
Yo Son, Just OC'ed my V to 1.8GHz, it flys. Kill those animation.
When I oc'ed to 2.0GHz stability test Crashed dawg. Stability test it son!
BTW: When I drop to 1.9Ghz throttling issues Nig. So bench your one V too.
now I'm at 1.8GHz it's stable and no heat issues at all.

May I ask why? Not about AnTuTu.. but Quadrant Standard is great!! Even helps in choosing a better ROM.. a little..:cyclops:
The only use I have for benchmarking apps is to compare changes in roms and kernels on your own phone. If you use the same app to benchmark, you can see the different performance gains and losses in various rom and kernel combinations. i really don't think they do any good comparing performance between different phones, but for checking on your own mods they do come in handy.

Use benchmark to determine throttling
Here are some tips I know which increases the benchmark rating..
Use PERFORMANCE as the Governer after overclocking.. And disable 'Force use of GPU for 2D Drawing' in developer options.

[Q] Overclocking!?

Hey guys,
I actually rooted my One v and also began using a custom Rom - KangBang v3 with hellboy kernel. I found the overclocking and voltag-controll in the menu. What is the maximum you wold overclock and at wich voltage?
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
I personally don't use and prefer OCing above 1.5ghz.at 1.9ghz,phone reboots every time an app is opened, freezes sometimes...
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
i never overcloked my Phone for me he is fast i think there is also a risk when you overclock
1.5 is pretty stable, any higher than that is a gamble. I got pretty good scores in antutu at 1.5, but not high enough to warrant constant over clock. Heck I usually run with 768 MHz on the high side for tiny bit better battery life and don't notice any slowdowns.
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
I go 245 low and 1200 high and 1708 low and max for games, that's the max without reboot
Sent from my HTC One V using a laser
Ok, i overclocked it up to 1.5 GHz maximum. At this frequenzy gta III runs smooth xD.
But for daily use, this drains the battery too fast -.-
But I think 1ghz is enough for normal use without gaming

Hey guys,
I am using Surprimo Rom v30
just wanted to ask if it has any such option of setting the processor setting
I haven't found any such settings during my usage.
So if it doesn't have such settings then what is the default setting set to?
I overclocked to 1,5 Ghz and use it daily with SmartassV2 governor. Battery lasts enough to load it back up overnight.

Your insane for trying 1.9 xD.
Don't exceed 1.4.
Overclocking a 1ghz kernel to 1.9 is dangerous.
Sent from my HTC One V using Tapatalk 2
even at 2ghz,there is no damage done to ur phone.generally people feel that it will damage and fry their phone, but thats not true.it only may reboot and freeze just for some time.there is no serious damage as many feel.
Running at 1.2GHz max right now. I'm too paranoid to go any higher than that. It got rid of the minor lag issues I was having (occasionally seeing "loading" when going back to the Sense home screen from an app)

[Q] Undervolting my HTC One X makes it slow as hell!

Hello!
I am playing arround with XM Kernel #235 and Black Pearl 5.0.1 ROM.
With stock values @ 1200MHZ AnTuTu scores arround 16000 but when i UV it - my phone gets uber slow (only on benchmark, not UI) and scores only 2500.
Even Subway Surfer seems to be strugling abit.
Another thing, I tried OverClocking to the limits.
This is what happened:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39069291&postcount=3693
Hello
I have some questions regarding #235.
I am using it on Black Pearl v5.0.1
I tried to overclock as much as possible
3D at 766mhz
2D at 620mhz
EMC at 900mhz
CPU at 1500mhz
yet I don't see any difference on any benchmark except my phone is hot as hell =)
Is it possible those values don't stack?
I am not getting any reboot or lag or anything. Stable as rock.
Thank you for your answers

What is your CPU variant and how much did you UV?
Sent from my One X using xda premium
I have variant 2 using 1500MHz @ 1100mV.
Hm, what was the original value? I can't check right now...
Sent from my One X using xda premium
1237mV stock.
Try a milder UV.
Even -100mV is considered heavy UV so you should stick with values not much higher than that.
