I've been running Darth star x2 for 2 weeks and all of the sudden about 3 days ago my phone stopped charging. It won't charge past 47%, I was wondering if anybody could help me with this issue? I'm thinking new battery but I don't want to do that until I get some feed back. I checked the battery and its not fat or hot and I turned it off last night and charged it and I checked it this morning and it said 100% but when I turned it on it was only reading 47%. Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Josh Talltree

Try one of the many battery calibration methods and/or deleting batterystats.bin.
Also try asking a moderator to move your thread to the correct section and from now on read a little before you make a thread in the wrong section.
You're not going to get much help when you post questions in the general section, and it's really not a hard concept to grasp. If you have a question post it in the section that clearly says multiple times that it's for questions, not the one that clearly says multiple times that it's specifically NOT for questions.
So I've been checking sammobile.com every morning lately, hoping for a new Telus 4.1.2, with no luck this far. Anyone know of when we may see a 4.1.2? :banghead: PS im gonna voice my opinion at Telus today and see what they say.

I'll definitwly ask "what's the dealio", but I'll most likely get the default reply, "we must test the firmware updates thoroughly before releasing to the general public."
It is bs that the international was released ages ago and a couple big carriers in the states have received recently but nothing for AT&T or Canada.
I know when it's released I will use it for a day and then back to AOKP. Touchwiz has some nice apps and features but prefer cm based roms for customizability and battery life.

Well sure enough, their reply was pretty much what I thought it would be. The guy at Telus kinda leveled with me and said he personally has no idea when a release could be, but guessed that since T-Mobile publicly released their 4.1.2, ours should follow in the next week or two. That's just an educated guess though.

Sure ......Telus seems to be notorious for slow updates. I suspect it will be more like one or two months.

Yeah Telus sure is the breadwinner, when it comes to reliable carriers. Hopefully the release is soon. Im itching to start building a new rom with a Telus base.
Pretty sure we'll never get to see 4.1.2 on our phones.
We'll get 4.2.2 instead, which makes much more sense from a carrier's perspective.
They already upgraded our phones to Jelly Bean 4.1.1. The next logicial step is to go to 4.2.x (most likely 4.2.2).
A 4.2.2 build for the international version came up a few days ago on sammobile.
I'd expect equivalent builds for the N/A variants to show up in a month or 2... and eventually make their way to the carriers.
And if we're lucky enough, we might eventually see 4.3.x someday.
That's if Samsung is willing to go this far with the GS3 and, only then, if the carriers care enough to "test" it.
Just don't put all your eggs in that 4.3.x basket...

Care to tell me your secret?
On touchwiz/stock rooted I get ~3 days of battery with general use; 24-32hrs of heavy use with tethering.
On any AOK/SP roms, and I've tried nearly all the big players (Task650, ParanoidKang, ParanoidAndroid, PAC-man, etc), I'm lucky to last throughout the night. Same apps, same settings, same everything across the board.
If I take it off the charger at 100% at 8pm, by 6am I'm at 40-50% battery.. but on stock I'll be in the 80s somewhere..

On average.. As an example I'll use this long weekend that just passed (May 24 for Canadians). I took my phone off the charger at 4pm Friday, and by this morning when my alarm went off for Work it was at 3% (just made it!).
That was with wifi mostly off, bluetooth mostly on and connected to my car, a few "here and there" emails and a good 20mins on a chrome/reddit browsing session at an impromptu 4am wakeup from the dog..
Text messages and Facebook notifications as well floating by at a regular pace, but nothing too crazy, no tethering or asst. light, nothing crazy battery heavy. Brightness was at a locked 70% (used an NFC tag to get it exactly at that), took 8 pictures with flash and 2 videos with light on totaling 4 minutes. I think there was a two or three minute time when I plugged it into my computer to transfer some media on and off the phone, but that wouldn't even get me half a percent of battery..
Around 10am it notified me that the battery was fully charged - I removed it from the charger then, and currently, 4 hours later, I'm sitting at 95%. That was with 25 text message sent/received, two facebook messages, three emails, and about 10 restarts from me screwing around with TiBu uninstalls, apk installations and recovery related maintenance.
EDIT: Stock battery, for those wondering..

Victoria Day long weekend is casually referred too as "The May 24 Weekend", as it normally has the 24th of May somewhere in that weekend. Yes the 24th is two days from now, but I was referring to the long weekend that just passed for Canadians like myself
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a 16gb 2013 nexus 7 at Walmart, and I really love the feel and the screen clarity of the device. But it has this shutdown problem when I first remove it from the box. Like during the initial setup when I enter in the user name and email address, it turned itself off at least after each step. One after entering my name, one after entering my email address, and one after registering itself with google. After the initial setup, it then do the automatic update to 4.3 and the. It shut itself down a few time during that sessions.
Also, it shut itself down twice white I was watching some YouTube video, and about three other random times while I was casually reading a website forum, I was reading about the issue of nexus 7 random shutdown by the way.
Anyway, I immediately returned the device within that same day of purchase. Though I really like the device and would like to buy it again.
I was wondering if all 2013 nexus 7 device suffer from this random shutdown issue, or did I just got a bad unit.
Thanks all
12 days so far, no reboots here.

I have no idea what you are talking about. So no I guess.
Many of them do. Mine does, even if it doesn't happen often at all.
My first one did. I exchanged it 5 days ago and haven't had a single random reboot or shutdown on the new one yet.
::EDIT::
3 weeks in I've had 4 random reboots. 2 today, the other 2 within the last week.
I have had mine since launch and have not seen this problem, although I know there was an issue of random reboots when updating apps on the play store. Obviously that isn't the same issue, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I'd say try getting one from somewhere else like BestBuy. I had a 2013 model briefly for a few days that I got from BestBuy and everything was perfect. (Only returned it not for any defect but because I got a real good deal in a 1st gen 32gb).
I did not have random reboots during setup, but I have had them in general use of the tablet.
Not to take anything away from android, but I've had random reboots on every android device I've owned whether it be stock or with a custom ROM.
Unless you are experiencing an unusually high number of reboots, I wouldn't think anything of it.

My two HTC phones never had random reboots. Nexus 7 should not either.

I experienced my first random reboot last night. My N7 is totally stock and I've had no problems since I got it on 7/26. I was on Facebook when the device froze for about 30 seconds, then the screen went black followed by the boot animation. I'm not concerned for now.
Random shutdown is nothing to get all worried about. Heck PC's do it as well, just a lot less frequent then the days of XP and prior.
I think I had mine do it twice... but it was on a custom kernel at the time. As well maybe once on stock. Longest up time prior to a reboot on the tablet has been 13 days for me, and i rebooted it because I wanted to get off the stock kernel.
Got mine from Best Buy on 7/26. It was from the second batch they received. I've no zero problems with it. None. Nada. This tab is great.
I guess I'm due then as well.
Had a few random freezes, but no reboots yet....
No random reboots here either, but only had it for 3 days so far...
still waiting for the first random reboot/shutdown after 2 weeks of use
I forgot to mention that I have heard that Walmart does use cheaper components for the same electronics but sells them at the same price as other stores. I don't know how accurate that is, but I never buy electronics from Walmart.

Using my n7 for a week now, 3 days with cpu /GPU overclock, zero reboots.
I would suggest factory reset may fix your device.
Does your device suffer from SRS (spontaneous reboot syndrome)?
This one is strange and I can't say it wasn't happening before the latest update (to 4.4.2). Before 4.4.2 I was not yet a CUCS sufferer (Compulsive Uptime Checker Syndrome).
However last night I was reading a book with my tablet next to me when it made its booting chime and this made me pause. Placing a bookmark in the latest Dresden novel I picked up my tablet and saw the LG logo. It rebooted for apparently no reason. So now I suffer from CUCS (Compulsive Uptime Checker Syndrome). Trying to see if the device is rebooting at odd times throughout the day.
So if all of you running stock 4.4.2 could periodically check your uptime as well so we can collectively determine if it is just my device that is doing this, I'd appreciate the help...
So far my uptime is still climbing and I'm now over 24 hours. If it does continue to spontaneously reboot I will probably start with a factory reset
So you want others to suffer your fate of becoming a CUCS sufferer....?!

Laughs, no, but it is the only way I could come up with to check if it was rebooting when it wasn't being used... So I apologize if you too end up with CUCS!

Glad you found it funny, that was the second goal of my post the first being trying to see if anyone else had noticed the device seemingly rebooting for no reason. It has not happened again (yet). I guess my CUCS must be in remission since I didn't check uptime before I left for work this morning...
FWIW I noticed that mine had uptime of almost a week, until I rebooted it last night after I rooted it.
It might have been influenced from your Dresden book, as Jim Butcher paints such a vivid picture spurious magic is known to flow from the pages. I would contact the white council if it should happen again.
Well, I shut my G Pad down almost every night when I charge it, so I'm probably not the best judge. That being said, my Pad is on for 14 or 15 hours a day, and I've almost never had a spontaneous reboot.

I never shut mine down. For one thing in standby, without being plugged in, I do not see even 1% battery drain after 8 hours, so really see no reason to shut it down.

I've seen probably a dozen reboots since I bought my gpad in December. Considering that I have tried every rom that has been produced for us and the fact I have settled firstly on CM11 Nightlies and now Infecteds CM11 Nightlies, I have to say I'm more than happy.
Especially when you take into account I tested both Demetris gpe rom and Kernel for him.
I've had a couple in the last week or so but again I am on Nightlies so I go into it expecting the odd issue.

I had my first spontaneous reboot last night since I bought it a few months ago. I dont know how long since I last rebooted it, but I know its been a while. Im on stock unrooted KK.
I can confirm at the very least that a spontaneous reboot for me does appear to be quite rare. Thanks to all who at least looked at their up-time as part of this and hopefully this syndrome has no long term lasting effects on us all! Enjoy the upcoming weekend!
Yesterday my Note 4 stated acting up...
The 1st 1/2 of the day it worked just fine. After lunch time, I noticed my phone was starting to lag with pretty much everything I tried to do. Throughout the day, the lagging got worse and then my phone started to freeze up (to the point I would have to pull my battery).
Last night I completely wiped my phone and re-wiped the cache and started over from scratch. I only loaded up about 1/2 of what was on my phone prior. Today the phone is still lagging bad and freezing. Now it is also re-booting on its own.
Now it just rebooted, but booted into recovery mode 2 times. I had to pull the battery a few times to get it to re-boot correctly.
I have not installed anything new or updated anything recently.
Any ideas????
How's your battery life?
Mine is doing the same thing. I just got it back from taking it in. I need to buy a new battery. Maybe that might help.

Just wondering where you got a new battery? The Sprint stores here in Minneapolis don't have any. I did get a Samsung battery set off of Sprint.com. It's on clearance for $24.99. You get the battery, an external charger (you have to use your own charger) and a case to hold the battery. Free shipping, too.
I got mine from batteries plus. So far it's running great with its first charge.
