I have the Sprint S3 running MIUI 3.9.27 and everything seems to be running well but for some odd reason it will not connect to my WiFi network. Is this an issue with the rom? Or my kernel version? My current kernel version is 3.4.53-cyanogenmod-g93e5fff
Thanks.
Does it even try to connect? Then disconnect?

Im not entirely sure if i do, but how would i know?
Static ip is when you set the Mac ID of your phone to receive same ip address on your router every time it connects, but your WiFi worked properly on previous rom, this ain't the problem.

Correct WiFi worked on cyanogenmod perfectly and now i switched to MIUI and im experiencing this issue. Any other ideas?
Sounds like issue with kernel to me, but it could be a ton of other things. Switch roms is all I know at this point

Yea i had a feeling it was my kernel version. I really like the simplicity of MIUI so my question is, will i be able to find a compatible kernel and will it require me to flash it or will i have to remove this rom and install another? :/

I just rooted my wife's phone for her. only reason being she wants it to run smooth again. recently has been freezing up allot and just acting funky. I want to remove Bloat and install v6 supercharger and some other tweaks to help it run smoother. anyone have any suggestions for a smooth, easy to use, stable Rom. That I might be able to convince her to try out for a bit. Generally I wasn't planning on flashing any custom roms for her unless something easy is out there. I am an chronic EVO flasher and she does not understand.

Since it is her phone and I am sure you love peace in your household, you may want something basic like the EC05plus ROM or ReRFS.
ha
That is why I hesitate!
links please if it is not too much trouble....
The v6 script is a trickier mod on a stockish rom. I swear by the latest sfr. Flash it twice. Be sure to flash a kernel also. In your case I'd recommend the ec05 plus kernel- nice and plain with no oc. Don't forget the hotspots hack. No sfr user should go without that freebee.

The first one requires Odin so back up first and then you can restore the data back. (of course ALWAYS back up a wife's phone first before doing ANYTHING!)----Great Advice!
Do not give her a GingerBread leak rom. My biggest recommendation.
My EC05 Froyo rom has the latest features like 6 Lockscreen mod and the free hotspot mod. You can try it here. If you don't need anything fancy, go with stockish as recommended by kenny.
Thanks!

Can u pls explain what u did to flash skyics onto our phone? Im guessing its not just flash n go is it?
I've been DD'ing EasyDoesIt ICS rom, especially since the rotation fix came out. I made sure to Darkside Wipe 2x (not that you need to but, I'm stupersticious), flashed the necessary ZIPs and fixed permissions after my first reboot. I have had really no major issues, except battery life has taken a hit, compared to stock, and I've had some FCs of the Gallery. It's nearly ready for prime time. Oh! One more thing. Make sure to try Nova Launcher. I prefer it much more than Apex or Twiz. If I helped, click the thanks button and good luck!

Nope! With the new kernel source that has been out, ever since about 4/3 days ago it has been fixed along with all of that echo & underwater call audio stuff. The newest AOKP build should be nice to use, even with stock kernel although it doesnt have the ability to OC. When Eugene is finished with his AOKP Streamline kernel later, you could try flashing that, as I will.

Can't speak for Rogers cause I live on the wrong side of Lake Ontario, but I did see some people (Presumably Rogers customers) having issues tethering on LTE. Task stopped officially supporting carriers other than AT&T in the past week or so, so even though the support has been there in the past, it's probably hit or miss at this point. Full wipe and flash again?

only issue i just came across was I was unable to use the hotspot when my phone was on 4g..
H+ and 3g will allow the tethering to go through.
When on 4g however, it doesn't seem to go through, therefore I had to change my network mode to wcmda preferred to maintain a steady hotspot.
might need to test a bit more..

Hello,
I've been having some severe signal loss issues for a long time now. I will lose my cell signal for sending/receiving texts and calls (even though it continues to display bars). It will not come back until I notice and restart my phone. It used to be that I could turn on/off airplane mode, but this doesn't even seem to do the trick anymore. It is becoming more and more severe. I use wifi a lot, and a theory I have is that when leaving and returning to a wifi area, something happens that causes my signal loss.
I am using:
-CM10 from 11-26-2012
-PhantomPhreak 3.0.15
-FH13
Please let me know if you have any ideas!
Thank you
