netstat and busybox netstat are commands you would issue in your console to see the IP addresses. OP didn't post any IP's, this is an exercise for the reader.
Gotcha, learn something new everyday
I see nothing except the DNS addresses for the websites that I have visited/am visiting.
For example
In the screenshot you see " 74.125.193.95" . That corresponds to one of Google's ip addresses.

Yeah, I found it. NOT OKAY!!! No matter the reason, it's still not okay!
T-Mobile does it too, my friend just checked.
VZW & AT&T probably do it too, can't confirm though.
Since T-Mobile is also connecting to the DoD using the 21.x.x.x IP address, can we say this isn't just Sprint supplying the DoD's with information? Why does T-Mobile need to go through them too? How much goes through them and why? Other then just to watch citizens. Sprint says that they are just the U.S. Government's phone company and that's why they go through the DoD, but T-Mobile does too.

And, why does T-Mobile also go through the 21.x.x.x IP address? All of the companies can't NAT the address through 21.x.x.x, something else is going on.
Listen, all of you guys don't get it. If the government wants your information, they are gonna get it. No matter what the companies do, they will get your information if they want it. Please stop freaking out like a bunch of 4 year olds. I hear so many people flipping out about certain technologies because of their possible connections to the government. Who the flip cares? If I buy an Xbox one and play with the kinect, and the government wants to watch me do that, be my guest. Because I know that I can't stop them from watching me anyway or getting information about me. Even if this was the 1950s, if the government wants to watch you or get information, they will. Sprint used to supply data to the department of defence. Either they own the IP addresses that were registered to DoD or they are borrowing some dod addresses for internal routing.

Apparently the music and film industries believe that the record-breaking profits every year aren't enough. They seem pretty convinced that if I could not download, say, music from the 1920's that I would somehow pay them money for it...oh, wait, they don't even sell it? Then surely I would just spend my money on something they do sell?
The real issue is not piracy. At all. It is control. They are losing control of content creation, distribution, profits and everything in between.
It's a paradigm shift. There is no more scarcity. In the past it cost money to make physical copies of content. That is no longer true. In the past it cost money to transport and distribute content. That is no longer true.
Guess who owns every one of those in-between industries? Guess who gets to pick the celebrities?
The internet has made all of that obsolete. The traditional music industry structure is crumbling so fast that you can start writing it's obituary now...the film industry still puts a TON of money into big movies--money that technology hasn't found a way to make irrelevant yet. So, they will likely go nowhere, but, profit margins are going to have to get slimmer to compete with all of the independently produced films.
People will always want to own the physical media under some circumstances...collectors, to give as a gift, for that one really special movie or album....but...most people won't.
These 2 industry associations are trying to prop up a 100 year old business model at the expense of cultural and technological progress....and that means money--to everyone else but them.
Tough ****. Pick a new business. Let the rest of us get on with progress.
They get paid way too much anyway. Some chick can make a sound out of her voice? So what, I've seen people run minecraft inside of minecraft on a computer they built out of blocks inside of minecraft. Now that is deserving of millions.
I recently saw a youtube vid of a talk Cory Doctorow gave at the 28th chaos communication congress last month. it's a long speech (about an hour) but worth watching and discusses SOPA and a lot of topics regarding restrictions on computers. here's just a bit of it.
"And on the network side, attempts to make a network that can't be used for copyright infringement always converges with the surveillance measures that we know from repressive governments. So, SOPA, the U.S. Stop Online Piracy Act, bans tools like DNSSec because they can be used to defeat DNS blocking measures. And it blocks tools like Tor, because they can be used to circumvent IP blocking measures. In fact, the proponents of SOPA, the Motion Picture Association of America, circulated a memo, citing research that SOPA would probably work, because it uses the same measures as are used in Syria, China, and Uzbekistan, and they argued that these measures are effective in those countries, and so they would work in America, too! "
I would post a link but not sure what rules are regarding that. anyway if you search for "28c3 cory doctorow" it will be the first that shows up.

So I guess my mom is tracking my phone with the sprint family locator, one I figure this will drain battery because my location will constantly be sent, two I don't want my mother knowing when I'm getting high (jk, but I do enjoy privacy), and 3 I beleive she's tracking my father to. This wouldn't be bad except he doesn't want her to, not to bring you guys into my family life, but they just got divorced and long story short they don't trust each other and my father doesn't want her tracking his phone as she's lied to him about this tracking thing before.
SFL is most likely a hidden stock all or just something like ciq hidden in running programs somewhere.
My question : Is there a way I can prevent it from tracking my father and my phones? Such as deleting the service, in installing the app through root, or any way really.
Second question, if I did this would she know through say a notification we cannot be tracked anymore, or perhaps it just won't show up at all?
Thanks guys.

Actually, I have had the locator still able to find phones even if the person has GPS extra off. The only way is to use roam control and use verizons tower. I'm not one hundred percent sure, but I think the locator triangulates your location from the cell phone towers.

Yeah but you could drive around where it says they are all day and not find them. Not that that isn't the case with gps in a building as well. I get good reception for gps in my house but the accuracy bounces around to wider than this block a lot of the time.

The phone triangulates off the towers. It shouldn't matter if you turn GPS off. The force roam idea may work, if he keeps his GPS off. Depending on how often she is checking it, she'll know something is up if the phone is on and the service is not working. (Trust me, I get calls like this all the time.) If you do a change of ownership you keep the same phone number, same contract dates, no ETF, thus you would still get his upgrade. If you roam too much you'll get terminated. Best solution is get a boost mobile and use *73 and leave the sprint phone at home when he's traveling.
She may still catch on, but it could take a while.
If you have a Google voice number integrated with your sprint number it will prevent sfl from obtaining your location. It did for me anyways. It either doesn't affect everyone or others haven't noticed. I haven't found any official confirmation anywhere yet.

My point was there is probably no way to stop her from tracking him, seeing what numbers he calls and texts. With the phone in her name, unfortunately for you and him, there is no way to stop it. Also even without sfl, she can see any number he texts by requesting the info from sprints security department. I have done it myself. its an easy process.

Beat me to it. This is VERY intriguing. At this point, I'm stuck with Sprint for a couple more years at least, most likely. Any sort of "cash infusion" is welcomed.
In the end, the only major player in my small city is Verizon, I may be jumping ship so I don't have to deal with crappy 3G speeds where 4G can be had. =\
And now Verizon looks like it's going after the Clearwire spectrum:

That move doesn't quite compute for me. Doesn't Sprint essentially control ClearWire? I suppose if Sprint needs cash more than it needs spectrum (which if probably the case), then it makes more sense.

I agree, mostly. Except that Samsung isn't selling away their most important asset to Apple, the tech and research behind the screens.
As I understand it, ClearWire only has one thing that people want, and that is the spectrum itself. Unless Sprint can never use the spectrum Verizon wants, this move still confuses me.

Big, there is no magic formula for how stocks go up and down. I mean, at one time or another, there are methods to follow, but once everyone catches on...typically it stops working. That's not to say that in situations like this, with announcements like this, that the sudden excitement doesn't drive prices up only to come back down shortly thereafter. It happens, and happens often.
But, who's to say in this instance that prices don't hold and potentially go up even further?
For all intensive purposes, the stock market is a zero-sum game (debatable). When I lose, someone else has won.
All in all, I stay away from the stock market. Not because it's inherently bad, but because I haven't spent enough time researching it and getting to know the ins and outs.

Of course it would go up: the prospect that now 2 companies are looking forward to buy CW (one of them at a higher price) makes CW stock a bit more attractive thus pushing people to buy shares, as the amount of shares available go down their price goes up and now whoever owns CW shares is making an extra dollar per share if they decide to sell.

its not clear wire that they want to buy .....dish is trying to buy sprint and verizon wants to lease the clear spectrum . dish offered 25.5 billion for sprint and verizon offered 1.5 billion to lease the spectrum ...vzw is not trying to buy clear that deal is already done with sprint and clear ..
I have no doubt that Dish will win this war - http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-...perior-to-softbank-s-investor-omega-says.html
A great read what dish is about & how Ergen has reached this point - http://finance.yahoo.com/news/dish-network-meanest-company-america-194008712.html?page=all

I really hope not. Dish IMHO is the bargain basement satellite. Many complaints of non existent customer service. Would be the beginning of the end for Sprint as this approach seems have been tried by Sprint and failed horribly.

if dish buys sprint, ill walk.
Offering more cash, keeping it in US, "synergy" with TV offerings... all fine and good sounding as statements I've read around the web for "pro" DiSH (I would actually contest the positive aspects of the TV network/wireless network synergy...)
The fact is, Softbank has Many orders of magnitude in assets overall to continue to support and invest in the network. And the motivation to do it, as a well established tech-forward company. ($4 trillion vs $11 billion...)
As where DiSHs motivations in the wireless business are akin to Comcasts in the ISP business. Not to provide you an excellent data service, but to sell you the bundles, the programing, the advertising, where their true money is made. Bad for the consumer.
I for one, welcome our new Eastern overlords.
I am a customer of both Sprint and Dish already. I guess that wouldn't hurt to combine the two. For me anyway... Though this is clearly a response to comcast teaming with Vzw.

So my best friends HTC one was stolen at gun point and he switched his service back over to an old iphone and we were wondering if verizon could do anything about it or there are any apps to find it. For some reason lookout wouldnt find it but it did take a picture of the guy who stole it because he put in a password wrong 5 times. If anyone has any suggestions just let me know.

There is that new app that Google has on all their phones I can't remember what it's called but if he set it up he can remote wipe... If he carries insurance I think its covered.

I would possibly yea give that a try!
but he may sell it, and the guy who bought it had no idea, then hopefully can track back to the thief.

he already switched the service over. idk if that matters.
Android device manager? It can only remotely swipe if you have given it Admin permission in your google settings, but it can and will locate the phone.

Sign into the google you set the phone up with.
find this scum of the earth!!
Thief would have to get it unlocked and on WiFi to locate now. Cell data went back to the old iPhone he said. So the op's friend is likely screwed.

unless you dont secure your device. I dont have a passcode unlock on my phone, but I've been trying to get tasker set up to turn it on when I leave my house, or some nfc tag to lock it when I leave
If it was still active there is an app in play store called Plan B where you could push app to the phone and get GPS location from it but as stated, if service was disconnected this won't work.

That's horrible.
Android Device Manager works pretty much just like Apples Find My iPhone. It allows you to locate the device on a map and remotely wipe it.
However, with the One you have to actually go into the settings and enable it.
Unfortunately, as others have said, even if it were enabled, your friend has already turned the service to the One off, so the only way I can see would be if the One connects to a WiFi network.
Sucks... this is why I am so glad I live in Virginia and can carry a handgun anywhere I go.
Thieves... Scum of the earth.

+1 on the carry permit. My 1911 goes where I go. 45ACP makes sure my belongings stay with me. But on the plus side... I'm glad you're alive.

But don't you guys know we need stricter gun control?
I wish I was 21 and could get a conceal-carry. Thief pulls a gun, I pull mine.

Yeah...my post was in reference to this specific case. If you really intend to track down your phone....leave data active until you find it.

but if he already has his gun pulled and he sees you going for something like a gun, he shoots, then claims self-defense.

So instead of giving him the phone and going home to your family you will try to draw your weapon and either kill someone or be killed? All for $600? The lawyer will charge you 50x that just to get you out of the slammer. Give the guy the phone and go home and hug your kids, your wife, your mother or all of the above. Use the gun for target practice.

The minute someone draws a weapon on you, your life is gravely in danger. You respond according by handing over your belongings and tucking your tail then ending up in the paper because they raped your girlfriend in front of you, stole your phone and executed you. I prefer just to end the altercation with my 45. I'll take court over that.
