When streaming a video online to the projector, the tablet has so many issues. Sometimes the HDMI disconnects itself and I have to either replug the hdmi cable in again, or change the input on the receiver to something else, and then back to the tablet. Sometimes the projector just goes blank but it keeps playing on the tablet. Sometimes it just stops. It works fine on a computer.
I bought the slimport adapter from ebay for $20.
I've tried several players but all have some sort of issue.
It could be a defective cable. Have u tried using any other ones? I believe I have a powered mhl cable from buy.com for like 10$ plus shipping.

After reading other posts I see this isn't MHL capable, and the cable it requires is expensive. Either way my original thought still deserves looking into. It could just be a defective cable. Have you tested other TV's/tablets with this cable??

Thanks, I'll try it on another TV, and if I have the same issues, I'll try get the adapter refunded.
I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46073546#post46073546
People are having similar problems with 4.3.
Can someone confirm they are able to mirror their nexus 7 II video without any problems?
Thanks.

Personally I love the Anker products.
I have one of their Astro3 1000mAh Dual 2A USB External Battery Backup Charger's.
I use mine to charge many devices plus this is the only external charger I have found that will successfully recharge my ASUS Transformer Prime.
The Anker Astro3 has a unique ability to not only charge 2x USB points but also has an additional 1x Output where you can alter the charge level between 9V & 12V.
The ASUS Transformer Prime requires 11.8V
The Astro3 is a BRILLIANT piece of hardware.

Amazon (dot) com then search for "anker s3". You'll see.
Btw, they just emailed to let me know that this battery is not compatible with the Anker Universal Charger. :-< Probably, gotta wait for them to release the compatible one.

Any one know if there's a cheaper one available and confirmed working?
There are cheapo ones that say "galaxy s3, s3, htc evo, etc" compatible, but i dont think a lot of sellers realize its a different pin connection.
has anyone been able to purchase one that works?
the genuine samsung one is too expensive.

You can use a cheapo adapter with Samsung's adapter kit.
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Samsung-OEM-...Accessories&hash=item2572f37fc3#ht_1660wt_889
Free shipping to the US. $26 shipping to Canada (which is why I haven't purchased it yet)
Yeah I think I may just use the MHL adapter from the GS2 and the 5-pin to 11-pin adapter tip both from samsung. At least they're both OEM and I don't really feel like waiting.
MHL: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006FYXL2O/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&smid=A2AXKMC4UVT4QQ
Adapter Tip: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0083FYL0O/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&smid=A1FBR7E8HT21EQ
Total is only $22.65. Just over half the price of the GS3 adapter.
The adapter tip you guys are referring to is usb to micro hdmi right? So you need the adapter tip plus micro hdmi to hdmi cable. The latter can be picked up for 4 bucks from ebay.

No, the MHL adapter is a microUSB to regular HDMI adapter. However the old MHL adapters for the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S2 use a 5-pin microUSB input and you need an 11-pin microUSB input so that's what the adapter tip does.

Anybody know if the charger port flex cable is the same for the sprint version sph-d710 as the i9100?

As long as its a micro USB it'll do, however some don't have the right #of pins and might not work (noticed this when I bought one new)

I'm now on my 3rd S3 which thankfully is still covered by warranty. I really would like to avoid having to go through this over and over but I'm not sure how to avoid the charger port not working properly over time. I don't think I've done anything really to provoke it. I think the case might have angled the port a little so I'll likely stop using that case
I'm curious though - is anyone else experiencing this? Looks like I can do self repair but it would require soldering skills which I don't have

I'm having a similar issue in that I cannot charge the phone via the USB. It starts to charge but then the LED goes off. By the morning I am down to 3% charge after 7 hours of being plugged in. I have tried 3 different batteries, 4 cables and ac adapters. I reflashed to stock and then had a Samsung guy at Best Buy reflash again. Same thing happens. The only way I can charge is with an external battery charger or if I use an iPad was charger with my USB cable...go figure.
My S3 is only a couple months old, but so far, it's holding up nicely. Is the issue actually with the charge port, or with lint from your clothes preventing the charger from connecting to the pins in the port?
No phone could have a worse charge port than the Evo 4G. I was lucky to never have an issue with it, but I know tons of people did.
I cleaned the lint out, but it still would not work properly. I also tried different batteries, cables, wall ports, usb ports, everything.

Hi all,
I need to buy a charger for my SGS3. I need either a genuine Samsung one, or a safe and compatible micro-usb charger with an extended cable. I don't want to get one on ebay because I don't trust the listings, and Amazon's listings have negative reviews where users talking about their chargers have exploded and flown across the room.
I'm UK based so I don't want to order from other countries due to shipping times/costs.
Helpful inputs will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Any charger is compatible heck i even use the apple ipad plug and a OEM Htc cable and it works fine
the phone itself regulates all the charging not the charger itself..
but make sure you buy a Hi quality micro USB cable or else you could short your phone
Thanks for the reply, but where should I buy the product from?

Amazon is one of the best places and by sorting them by highest rated and with the most reviews makes it easy. Or if you want to keep it easy, buy the Galaxy S4 charger (2.1 A instead of 1.0 A!) off Samsung.com and if you register your device, they give you a 50% of promo code for mobile accessories which makes it about $20.

Another good option is to check hotels in your area. People leave behind their phone chargers ALL THE TIME: they're not worth driving back for, and often people won't even bother to have them mailed to them. As a result, pretty much every hotel desk has a box of chargers that they hold on to for people who forgot to bring theirs. If you ask nicely, they might let you pick through it and take one. These are often the brandname chargers that came with the phones.
I noticed that the ones with a lot of reviews seem to be the most untrustworthy, I saw a listing with one that had 60 5 star reviews, but it also had 50 1 star reviews that talked about how the charger has literally blown up and flown across the room or stopped working on its second charge. As for local hotels... There aren't any near where I live
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Can't you just go to some big retail surface around your area and get one from there? Any charger with a microusb will work. The only thing i'd look out for is the 1A charging current (like the original) so the phone finishes charging in in about 2h. Just avoid the real obvious crap ones from shady brands and you should be fine. You can just trade it in if it doesn't work properly. I got a bundle from energizer for a bit less than 20€ (around £17). Had a wallsocket charger with 2 usb sockets (1A), a car charger one (with 1A and 2 usbs too), a rather long cord and several ends to plug just about every device i could think of. Obviously microusb included.
What about the same as the one provided in the original box? It should be safe I think.
