Hi Guys,
I'll be telling you my story today with the OGP so you won't have to go through what i did.
My phone is the f240l Korea model, and as of many of you know, the phone is an absoulte pain to live with if you're not from Korea.
So i started messing around with the very limited roms we have in order to have a comfortable experience with the device, so as i was "playing" with different roms/kernels/basebands i firstly got to a point where the phone doesn't recognize my sim because i went ahead and took a shot at the e988 baseband because the current one was having issues with recognazing my contacts names (yes it's baseband related) and other small issues.
When flashing the f240l baseband back and the phone still not getting service i went back to the rom that i previously used, and here is where the fun starts, the rom was designed for the international so i needed to flask my kernel after that in order for it to work, the only small detail was that the kernel was on the SD card, so you can guess righ now what my dear CWM said to me... "cannot mount external sd card" , of course i tryed it 10 times just in case it changed it's mind :silly:, it was at this point that i felt the threat, but i said to myself, hell i'll flash the korean custom rom (feiyu) back on and that should boot my phone at least, i'll move the kernel to the internal sd and KKabbam, little did i know that Feiyu's rom does not flash the kernel nor baseband by default, then i got nervouse and i said to myself that i'm gonna have a chat with the officials and rescue me from my mess "downloads LG Mobile Support Tool", (phone was 50% when i started playing with the basebad) okk, installed, phone in download mode and BAMMMM, message from LG: Baterry is critically low please do a full charge and try again; i knew then i was fu*ked because if the phone does not boot the phone does not charge, i was starting to rage and my redneck instincts took over and told me to rig the battery with wires and ductape to a usb cable with the red wire on + and black on -, i left it overnight and of course that sh*t failed, at least my battery didn't explode or anything, so i went downtown in the morning to get one of those universal battery chargers (i'm sure some of you know how those look like) to get my battery juiced up. It was no easy task finding such a charger but eventually i found something, but it was one of those chinese cheap ones. Got home, aligned the pins on the charger with the +/- on the battery (there were absolutely no indicators of the polarity on the charger so i just assumed which is which) and a red LED lights, i was like yeahhh baby we're back in business, i plug it in and two more LED's light up on that charger which i have no idea what they did because they stayed on the whole time it was plugged in and charging.
2 hours pass, let's try it outt - battery critally low, 3 hours pass LG Tool: Battery critically low, please charge, 5 hours pass, still the same. Hmm.... either i missmatched the polarity either the charger is absolute crap, so i looked at the output of the charger....... 250Ma..... WWAAAATTTTT, after a quick calculus i figured that the 250ma charger will fully charge my 3200ma battery in 15 hours
11 hours pass and i'm giving it another go, LG mobile gives me the GO only to stumble myself on this amazing download speeds of the LG SERVERS picking up mad speeds peaking at 35kb/s, then i said to myself how in the hell will my phone last 10 hours in download mode until the download is finished? If i wait i risk that the phone shuts down before the download is finished thus i'll lose another full day charging the battery, or even worse shut down during the flash process. I know, there's another tool "FlashTool.1.0.54" to the rescuue i said, then again i got spit in the face because damn thing crashes more ofthen that my grandmother on a skateboard would (both win xp and 7) so again i'm left with no options that to be LG mobile suport tool's bit*ch.....
I'm saing to myself ok man, let's have a fresh start, so i restart my PC an allmighty router and let's goooo, maybe i'll hit a better mirror or something or whatever system LG is using, i even installed the suite in my language as i secretley hoped i'll hit a server in my country and blast it with a 3-5mb download speed, unfortunately this was not the case and i'm back on the ol' reliable 30-35kb/s, here's where my lucky brake finnaly came through, while the phone was in download mode and the software is downloading i unplugged the battery from my phone and YESSSSS the download is still ongoing, only 9:50 hours left yayyyyyyy!
By the time i'm writing this the download reached 50% and i hear the baloon pop sound of death: LOW DISK SPACE ON C:\........ cccccmmmonnnnnnnnnnn :crying::crying:, in a desperate attempt to swiftly free some space i SHIFT-DELETED some random program files which i'll probably hear about on my next reboot
Possible ending scenarios:
-when ill try to reconnect the phone when the download is almost completed it might get interrupted and cancel my download
-ill wait for the download to finish (get the error that the phone is not conected) start over and pray to the LG devs that the firmware is saved to my HDD and not in some temp folder.
Hope you liked my story and i hope i can fix my phone when the DL is done. Sorry for my grammar, it's 4AM and english is not my 1st lang.

Just download it from one of the links in the forum...
I believe when the phone is in download mode, it's charging also from usb. (Not 100% sure. But phone connected with pc is supposed to charge whether in normal mode or download mode). I say this as once I had an android device which used to charge even while in cwm.

Hello everyone,
i was playing real racing 3 on my gn2 and had 10% battery, wanted to charge it and realized it was not charging anymore . turned off, took battery out waited a bit, tried again but no luck. tried with another charger, no luck. tried with usb cable through pc but got again the same result. phone was not recognizing any cable connection and after trying all these i was only 4% on the battery now. found out it was a hardware problem and googled the net, saw many entries about (not) charging problem and decided to send to service but it was not possible for me to flash any stock firmware since usb connection was not possible. i couldnt do anything else because battery left was only 3% then...
so i had to send it to service as is... and of course they denied repairing it within warranty as they found the custom binary count and asked for 243 euro to repair it
now i will get the phone back, of course un-repaired and i ordered an external battery charger. i will be able to reset the binary count by using triangle away but i cant use any software (odin, kies... ) to install back the official firmware.
now my question is; is there anyway for me to install stock rom on it(maybe mobile odin??) or to send it again to service after resetting the binary count and pray for them not to save my imei number and not check my firmware on the phone but to check only the binary count???
thanks in advance
you could Flash the stock Firmware from Mobile Odin and and user Triangle away .it will show as Official , after that do a Factory reset so it would remove all the Root folders.

I don't believe it is simple charging issue, if so USB port is hardly costing >10$
they gave you estimate 243 euro, simply suggests you needs Mobo replacement.
Anyway try managing foe extra battery and check whether it device boots normally OR do you able to flash anything.

thanks a lot for the answer, i will first use triangle away, i guess it requires root so after flashing official firmware it wouldnt be possible, then the stock rom via mobile odin.
thanks a lot buddy..

at first,thanks for the answer,
device was working correctly before sending it to service everything was fine apart from usb connection issue. would u suggest me to buy the usb port and replace it by myself if they again dont repair it?
First try getting battery charged, then it will be easy to diagnose whether it is usb issue or something else.

Possibilities are if you replace it yourself locally then you will Void your warranty so better to try all other Possible ways
this may sound a bit stupid but it happened to me once.
i wanna as OP... after completely draining ur batt... u plug it in to charge for how long?
here's what happened to me. forgot to charge my phone overnight... went to work with 40% charge... by 1pm totally drained my battery. i was on field that day with no access to charger and constantly on the go from 1 customer's place to the next... only managed to charge it when i got home at 10pm.
after i plug it in... totally no reaction. as if charger is not functioning. i left it plugged in.. after 5 minutes or so (im not sure how long.. i went for a shower) when i got back to my room i see it charging with the red battery on the screen... after it got to around 30% i switched it on and let it continue to charge overnight.
so y not try plugging it in to charger a bit longer... see if it starts to charge. it worked for me.
for my case, to prevent this from happening again i got myself this
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB-H1J9VMAGSTA
but i got mine in white. comes with an extra original battery. so in the event i forgot to charge it overnight i can quickly swap the battery.
give it a try. no harm trying

Hello xba-developers!
>Device HTC One X
>Quad Core 1.5 Ghz processor
>16 GB memory
>Everything is stock, no rooting nothing.
I've been checking this forum for quite a while but just found the need to register obviously because of a problem which I cannot find solution to.
I've checked couple of forum posts like THIS and some others and they KINDA have solution but it's really vague for me and I'll explain why; the reason is that I'm a complete newbie to all this, I've never rooted a device don't even know what that means and all these custom ROMs and everything really confuse me. Plus, my computer can't pick up my phone and generally I don't quite know if the cause of my problem is the same as other posts (Even though the problem is same) which means the solution may be different.
PROBLEM
It was raining, I was outside, some moron bumped into me in the street and phone slipped out of my hand, fell into a pool of water. I took it out as soon as I could but it was all wet. I tried to turn off the device but it kept restarting it wouldn't power down! (When I pressed power off it would do just regular restart) then suddenly it started working but the thing is, BEFORE all of this battery was in 14%, after it magically started working battery was on 80% which means it must have shortened somewhere (Problem with battery). Then all of a sudden it started doing these weird things like turning on music all of a sudden, turning on screen, shutting down, restarting and so on... (The speakers pretty much weren't working but still there was music somewhere). Then it went into a boot loop, I tried to do recovery but it kept restarting even when I was pressing POWER + Volume down buttons.
Then what I feared the most, battery died. Whenever I connect to power source (no matter Computer or Wall charger) it automatically goes into boot loop, the device won't stop working at all it won't shut down nothing. Battery is out of charge and I can't charge the phone enough to do Factory Reset. I took it to Service center but they are having "holidays" because 8th march is women's day and then it's sunday...
I really hate the fact that the battery is sealed inside the phone! It becomes real headache in this situations I could just take the battery out and tried it out but NOPE, can't do that!
Plus it's my first android and it uses this mini sim card thing (which they happily shortened in the store) and I don't really have any other Android phones to use my card on since it's too small for older devices...
So, the question:
How do I charge my phone when it goes into boot loop every time I plug it in?
My PC can't recognize it (it makes the sound when you connect Flash device through USB and then in 0.5 sec makes the one when you disconnect that same device).
I just need my phone to work properly. Or at least start up!
Thanks to everyone who read this huge post and I'm really sorry if I missed one or another forum thread that describes my problem exactly (which is unlikely but still).
Thanks again, have a good day!

Hello,
I've tried to solve this on another thread but was instructed to make a new thread to get more visibility.
Last night I set the latest update to start 5am. I had about 50-70% battery and the phone was connected to nearly full 13000mAh power bank.
This morning when I woke up I was wondering why doesn't the power bank indicate any charging light so I picked my phone and it was dead. I clicked power bank and it started charging. So the thing what happened here was that the phone started updating and somehow rejected the charging current of the power bank which made the power bank to stop charging. After that the phone started updating firmware, drained all battery and got bricked.
You might ask why the hell would I use power bank when I update firmware? Well, it does automatically charge when I plug it in, so it should have stayed on all the time. It also provides enough power to charge the phone for more than 2 times, so I would consider it as being same as being charged from a regular charger, because its also as fast so has quite the same charging current. It is a mystery how did the phone reject charging current and how did not the power bank start recharging as fast as possible.
The problem
The phone is being bricked. I have charged it today about 3 hours with power bank, 1,5 hours with computer and now around 4-6 hours with regular charger. If I try to hold reset / power / volume- / volume+ / power & volume+ / power & volume- any of those for at least 10 seconds, nothing happens. Only thing that happens is the red led stops blinking and stays on red when I hold power. Sony companion wont recognize it. I accidentally tried to fix firmware which orders to hold vol- and then connect but it doesn't connect. The reason this was an accident is that I absolutely do not want to lose all my files, so I need to somehow get my firmware working again without losing pictures, videos or text messages (notes there) or voiding my warranty. So luckily I didn't manage to get the fix firmware to work cuz it should delete everything. Also pressing reset for 2 minutes does the same so I discard that option for now. The battery should be full by now, I have also tried changing the charger after I noticed I had 2 identical Sony chargers one charging power bank and another on this z5p and only that one charging power bank was hot and another one charging phone was maybe a little warm. After I changed them the situation became opposite.
Is there anything I could do to save my files and make this crap work again? It is quite frustrating now because the most important thing are my files, not even the overpriced phone (and I guess factory reset can get it work but thats the last option, I absolutely need those files:crying
PS. sorry for so long story.
sorry for the typos.
Now the charger is only a little warmer than room temperature, but still blinking red and not responding.

From what I understanded before, I thought you charged 7 hours directly to an outlet, but you switched between powerbank, and pc too?
Well this is kind of my mistake because I said try connecting it to pc in between.
After reading this more detailed explanation, I would strongly suggest to just leave it charging directly to an outlet.
For atleast about 6-8 hours just as a first try to try to solve the issue (hopefully) without having to take more desperate measures lol.
So start with charging again, sorry for the misunderstanding.... it is partially or maybe mostly my fault :silly:

Thanks for still helping me out here
I'll leave it charging "from the wall". However power bank also provides high power and I'm worried about the charger temperature, so could it just charge it very very slow cuz no heat is building up. Anyways, it should have charged like 3 times by now but ill give it 10 hours now. Ill update here later what happens.
No problem, I kmow how it sucks to have a bricked phone.
I just did a quick research on XDA and found this thread: http://forum.xda-develaopers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
it is really alot to read... but if you want to have the best chance to unbrick your phone and hopefully still have all your files, I think you should read it before you take any other drastic actions.
I think this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33032165&postcount=2 is the most interesting for you
You will need flashtool to save your phone, but this doesn't automatically means you have to flash the full firmware (which will erase all files on the phones internal storage).
I know you are hesitant to use flashtool but at some point I think you have no other options sometimes.
BUT.... dont worry, MAYBE you are lucky and just flashing the kernel part of the firmware might fix your problem.
Im not going to add it here as I dont want to be the one to blame when accidentally providing the wrong file for your phone lol.
So I think you should read that guide and see what exactly applies to your issue, and then before you do anything just ask in that thread for help.
Start by telling you aren't even familiar with flashtool yetso they can help you faster. And let them help you to (if needed) correctly flash the correct kernel file to your device.
I think they can help you much better than me, because they have more knowledge,
and know better how to put all info it into context to make it understandable for people who aren't really familiar with al this.
Also it saves me alot more typework lol.
Ill still keep an eye to your thread to see if you manage to fix your brick and maybe answer (some questions) when I have time.
Better to just ask questions in the recovery thread, but who knows... if you post double and Iknow the answer, ithat would be luck and get you back into your phone faster hopefully
Enough writing for today..... your welcome :silly:
Good luck, be patient, and dont worry (like they also mention in the recovery guide)

I'll leave it charging "from the wall". However power bank also provides high power and I'm worried about the charger temperature, so could it just charge it very very slow cuz no heat is building up. Anyways, it should have charged like 3 times by now but ill give it 10 hours now. Ill update here later what happens.

Ok it has been charging for about 12 hours extra now, total 24h. Still blinking red. not connecting to PC, still reacting to hold power / hold power and hold vol - with continuous red. Reset wont do anything.

Copied from above linked thread:
YOU NEED TO RESET YOUR PHONE!
If your phone is soft-brick and does nothing when, -the buttons are pressed, -a charger is plugged in, -or if the screen is still ON then....
The memory chips need lose power to clear the bad data and reset the phone. Either by the battery going dead or by unplugging the battery.
You can to leave the phone on a charger to see when the battery dies. Usually the battery will not charge in a soft-brick state and will die while still plugged in. After the reset you should then get the red led. However if you get a red led immediately when first plugged in and no response but red led for a long time, then you may need to leave the phone unplugged and let the battery die.
Only after the chips reset will you get the red led. The RED LED should mean the phone is charging in 'low battery level charge mode'.
Once you get the red led, after the reset, do NOT try to turn on the phone. If you try to start the phone now without fixing the problem you will have to start all over.
So maybe if keeping it plugged for so long doesn't work, leaving it unplugged and wait for the battery to die will help?
Ask for more help in the thread I linked
Was bored @ school, so was looking for some more easy to follow info for you.
Have a look at this thread too, mainly im talking about just trying to see if flashtool can reccognize the phone and if not, read and follow the driver install section and see if that changes anything

Ok its ready to pick up from repair. They coudln't fix it. Lets take a look at those threads.
I don't know but I guess the service dude checked if the battery was dead? But still I'm thinking that it could be one possibility.

Hey
Im not very suprised they couldn't fix it.
I wonder though if they even did anything, so you should ask them about what they did.
Once you have your phone back, I would start with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19684920&postcount=2
If this doesn't help, you can proceed with the other threads I linked in earlier posts and give them a careful read
@XperiassinceZ1
Haven't heard in a while, I assume this means your phone is fixed or?
Was just curious lol.
Solved: As of this morning, the problem is solved. Few tips for some one who might have this problem in the future
a) Charging via wall port WILL NOT WAKE UP the device, regardless of how much time you leave it there
b) Best NOT to let the battery run out completely before charging (if using custom ROM).
c) Will charge ONLY when using a desktop; at least for me, even overnight laptop charge, with no screen turning off feature, did not work.
Thank you to 15 people who read and showed interest in my post.
Shubham1024 posted the same issue few days ago, but did not see any substantial back and forth on the issue. I am wondering if more people are (beginning to be) in the same boat as I am. May be Khang will visit here and listen up....
My phone was running CarbonROM 7.1.2 (Oct 18th patch, if that matters (?)) with no stutters, lags, or anything. Just like normal with excellent battery life and what not. Two days ago, the phone completely refused to turn on, light up, or anything. It was on a wall charger for 45 mts in between classes when I came back to find it unresponsive.
Troubleshooting steps taken
a) tried three different cables along with two different wall bricks
b) took out the sim and tried charging
c) tried to charge the phone using car charger
d) different USB ports at home/work
e) left it on a desktop at school with a USB cable for few hrs (had read that one user got it to work after 48 hrs)
f) the ten twenty thirty second bootloader attempt (pwr/vol down)
Right now, I have left it at school hoping to let it charge overnight on a desktop and see if I can mimic the ONE successful result from a user somewhere.
has anyone here had the same problem as I did? if so, what steps did you take? I root and mod quite a bit, so took pretty much all the steps possible to wake up my dead phone. I am mulling contacting RAZR to see if they can assist (?) With their new gaming slab on the horizon, I am not sure if Nextbit customers will or are getting help.
The biggest upsetting thing for me is that RAZR apparently discontinued hardware support starting Aug 17. Well, what about those buyers (like me) who bought it in July of 2017 brand new sealed? Khang even took time out to reply to another user with a similar problem that pretty much, you are on your own. Additionally, Nextbit (back then, before the acquisition) even claimed on their website to let users have install custom via the already unlocked bootloader and still honor warranty. No questions asked. So...
4 months and flagship navigates into a black hole. Any help would be much appreciated.
I see these forums littered with the same issues and no one's bothered to see if it's in QHSUSB_Bulk mode. Mine just started to do this when I shut it down. Now I cant get it back by holding Power and Vol down, it just reboots it. It was at 85% battery when I shut it down and n ow I can get it to come back on. Black screen, PC reports Qualcomm Download mode. No Fastboot or recovery
Long story short my g4 died about 2 years ago, has been sitting since. Just one day it wouldn't turn on and I was already fed up with the QoL with the g4 so I swapped.
It has a lot of pictures I really want so I started messing with it. Plugged in, said battery at 0% please charge before powering on. Wouldn't charge at all after a day on this plug so I ordered a new battery. With this new battery I can't even get to this screen, it just boots up and gets stuck on a black screen while vibrating nonstop. Figure maybe something internally won't charge the battery so I have an external charger on its way here. I decided if that doesn't let it power on, then it's likely a bad mobo. Which leads me to my question: how do I get my pictures? Replacing the mobo won't work AFAIK because the storage is on it

Try SALT within download mode (see my sig).
Do a custom backup and choose userdata .
If you cannot get into download mode anymore check the bootloop fix list (see my sig)

I can't do any of that. Can't get into download mode or anything. Is there some way of getting into the devices storage without powering it on or replacing motherboard? I honestly don't give a **** about the phone, I just want the pictures.
I've tried everything except for the stove...
Update: auxiliary phone charger got here, When I try to boot into booloader/recovery it FEELS like its getting into it, but no display shows. Don't know what vibrations omit for X mode, but considering buying an LCD screen rep.
Update 2: Managed to get the LG startup logo to show. Just kept pulling the battery, holding power for 60 seconds w/o sim card or sd card, putting battery in and holding power again, then it finally showed up! Stayed for about 10 seconds then went back to black screen, any ideas what this means and where it's pointing me to fix?
