Hi i have cracked screen in my NEW (!) desire .
There is only a small hairline crack visible in the glass underneath the outer cover of the phone (i assume it's the screen - as seen on the famous tj's tear-down photostory ). The outer glass is completely intact (how the F#$% did that happen?).
When the phone is on the screen is all green, yellow - like a leaked lcd.
So here goes my question: how do i check/know if the digitizer is fine? Or will i only know it after i replace the AMOLED screen?
No expert here, but as far as I know digitizer has to do with the touchscreen, so I guess that if your touchscreen works(font mean the display) the digitizer works too...

Heh,
that is exactly the problem that i don't know if it works. Phone boots normaly, but i can't see anything on the display so i can't see if the digitizer works the straight-forward way.
I think the only way to check that would be to connect the phone to the computer somehow and see some "telemetry" - i was hoping for a suggestion in this area
You can try to use adb logcat boot up your phone and try to push various buttons (blindly ) if logcat shows interactions, digitizer should be fine.
i tried to connect to logcat but it's impossible if the "usb debugging" feature is disable in the phone.
Nevertheless i replaced the display and the phone works perfectly now
(note to self: do not boulder with your desire in your pocket )
how to check that only glass has broken not digitizer? please answer me. i am going to buy phone which is working fine and has only cracked screen which is visible, looks like only glass broken handset, how to know if digitizer is damaged or not ?
Hi there!
About a month ago, my nephew threw this phone into a bucket of water. After leaving it in rice for about a week or so, it is on and seems to be working fine with the exception of the touch screen. Only the very left part of it is functioning.
I attempted to open it up to clear any water on the LCD and the glass (no water was found). This still didn't work.
What do you think I should do? replace the Glass on the outside? or the LCD? I am not sure how the touch works on the wildfire s. My guess is that the glass does everything and the LCD is just for display. Am I correct? Do I just need to buy the glass?
Thanks in advance.

In my phone I can also hear this noise.
Can anyone else confirm this little issue on your phone?

Yes, I have it as well, but I don't think that it's a problem. My nexus 7 sounds like that almost on the whole backside.
I talked today with my friend whos got z1c and he said that in his phone Xperia logo isnt clicking but left side of his back panel near magnetic charger is clicking and he feels like there is no glue or is empty space between back panel. I decided to go tommorow to sony center and compare to brand new z1c
Hi Since this morning i have a shadow on the bottom right corner of the screen.
screen is working properly.
If i do a print screen it doesn't appear so i guess it's between the glass and th screen itself
As the weather is very hot (over 40°C/104°F) i think it's related to difference of temperature when i went out.
Any idea?
do you think that will disappear with time?
It looks like the display layers (the backlight diffuser) are separating (the glue let go from the heat). Get it exchanged.

Just received my Note 7.
The first thing I noticed is that every time I touch the screen or shake the device gently it rattles as if there is something loose inside.
Some of this is the S Pen. If I remove it, it doesn't rattle as much but is still there. It appears to be coming from the bottom part of the phone but I can be sure.
I rang Samsung and they kept putting me off saying this is normal and may be the optical stabilisation in camera. I don't believe this to be the case.
The phone works fine other than that. I'm probably being a little fussy but when you spend $1345 on a so call "premium product", you don't expect it to rattle.
Anyone else have this issue?
Wow I would exchange it quick fast and a hurry... Have not received mine yet may I ask what variant or model and carrier it is?

No rattle at all on my att variant.. with or without the spen..
go as fast as you can to have it replaced, no way a rattling can be normal, hurry!

Do you find that it rattles when you type or do anything that requires a really short 'pulse' vibration?
Makes a really tinny rattling noise..
Guys open the camera app and try shaking again it might just be the sensor
It is optical stabilization mechanism. That's normal.

Do you get a somewhat hollow sounding vibration though? I get it while typing for instance

my note 4 has this too.
I always assumed it was the metal buttons rattling, but it's definitely the camera for me.
it becomes almost unnoticeable when the camera is active, but is pretty loud when it's off.
That rattle is your warranty. Calling you to exchange it as fast as possible. Mine doesn't rattle. No phone should

I have the Verizon variant and it rattles. When the camera app is open, it is very faint but still there. I just got this yesterday. Should I exchange, or would I be running in circles? Out of curiosity, I checked my older S3 and S4. They both do the same thing but not as loud as the note 7.
I hear it as well right on the camera, seems it is indeed the stabilisation
I just got off the phone with Verizon and they noted my account as (DOA) and are letting me go to my corporate store in the morning and get it replaced. It is probably normal but I'd rather go on and get it replaced.
Thanks to everyone for the responses. I have the the N930F purchased directly from Samsung Australia.
After a bit more testing it looks like it is the camera. If I start the camera app the rattle goes away. Samsung is saying this is normal and are refusing to replace it. Not sure weather I should be worried about it as some of you are saying you don't have any rattle at all.

Curious about the price you paid - $1300? Really? What does that equate to in US Dollars?
Mine rattles. Around the camera. I've heard other phones with optical stabilization do the same
That sound is normal even in my Galaxy s5 it comes
Its not that much noticable

I bet its the plastic home button that rattles, it has happened on my older Samsung devices as well. Buttons can rattle, check the power button and volume rockers too.
I have to be in a quiet room and put the camera right up to my ear to hear it rattle and even then it's still very faint. If it's any louder than that I would say that you have a little bit of a Problem.
