I just bought (legally) Roam Control yesterday only to have the activation NOT WORK. Activation Failed Code 9. Will the developer fix this issue or anyone have ties to him? I really need this application work as my Epic 4g running legacy black dog rom has CRAP COVERAGE.
I need to find a way to make it Roam as my area is literally in a dead zone and I don't have an airway. No internet right now. Anyone able to assist on an alternative to Roam Control, contact maker, or help me resolve issue on Roam Control?

I also purchased it a week ago with the same error. I go to the mountains every weekend to work and have no sprint coverage. I don't care about the small price I paid for the app, I just need it to register so I can use verizons towers if I have an emergency!!!
Same problem and same error code. Legitimate copy and the activation code he sent doesn't work. I cannot get a response to any emails I've sent.
Activation Working Now
Download Roam Control version 2.10.0. It will replace your current non working version. Enter the registration info originally sent to you and BINGO, it now works. I had the same problem trying to get it registered when I bought the program. My original version was 2.9.1. Spread the word.
Recently I installed/bought Roam Control v2.10.0 and am running it on CyanogenMod v10.1.3.1 (stable).
After installing make sure you go to Options and select your device: Samsung (not GS3/GS4).
Seems to work great! Thanks MrGreg!

I am now living in South Carolina and until the Suncom deal goes through im roaming on either Suncom or AT&T. I have a data plan and it is working on the partner networks, but I have to manually hit send/recieve every time. I then will get a warning say i might be charged since I am roaming (I won't).
I am wondering if anyone knows if I can either somehow change this setting or trick the phone to think it isn't roaming. I want to find a way so that the phone goes back to just send/recieving on normal intervals.
If anyone can offer any advice I would greatly appreciate it. I have already talked to Tmobile and they say it can't be done. I doubt that seriously I just am not familiar with the phone enough to know how to do this on my own.
Thanks in advance
Ahhh, another poor soul like myself who is trapped using SunCom.......well, in my experiences.....I have never had this happen to me before...I too live in SC(Florence to be exact), and im using the S621 flashed with the Brightpoint rom(which I suggest you do.....SOOOOO much better than the SunCom rom...), and ive never had a problem with the roaming and downloading like I did on the SunCom one.....so I would try that first!
yeah no dice on that, but on the bright side I can't get activesync to work anymore. I am on tmobile not suncom but I roam on either AT&T or Suncom. If I was native suncom I believe I wouldn't have this issue, anything else I should try next?
Whats up with your ActiveSync bro? Like any kind of error message or anything?
i had to get rid of the setting that let it use advanced networking over the USB protocol to fix it....i also have got the rest working so thanks for the input man. I appreciate the help plus this got me to update my firmware which is so much better now.
What started out as an effort to get my migrated XV6800 to operate on Verizon's data network has taken a nasty turn for the worse... Here is the long, sordid story, and I would really appreciate help in getting this device back onto the Verizon network.
This was originally a Qwest phone. I unlocked it and flashed it with a Verizon ROM, the file name is _Verizon XV6800_RUU_TITAN_VZW_WWE_3.57.605.1_RS_TITAN_3.37. 75_OM_VZW_ShipFULL. After I did that the customization routines did not run. Frankly, I don't know if they were supposed to or not, but they didn't.
I couldn't get the phone to connect to the Verizon network, even on *228. Eventually I applied a PRL and then I was able to connect to *228, and option #3 got the phone onto the voice network. I used it as my cell phone for two weeks with no issues on the voice network. Still, I wasn't able to get data working.
These are the things I tried while troubleshooting the data issue:
* Loaded the carrier cab from DCD
* Forced a CDMA only connection to download new keys
* Loaded the newest Verizon ROMs I found while at their website (this is the first time I saw customization routines)
* Told Verizon to switch me from pay as you go data to unlimited data (though it looks like they never turned this on)
* Tried activating my PDA with a different Verizon number, and then re-activating it with my original Verizon number
* Did a hard reset
It's those last two steps that screwed me. After I swapped the number off the phone I wasn't able to get it back. I could get to option #3, but it wouldn't let me activate the phone. Their tech support is no help and they are shocked when they look back at my account history and see that I was able to use *228 to get this phone on their network two weeks ago.
I then did a hard reset and got myself all the way back to the point where I was before I manually put the PRL in place. When I dial *228 I get the following: "Your account is not authorized to make calls to this phone number. I you would like to have additional capabilities added to your account please call customer service. Message 4, swich 691". I'm guessing that installing a PRL on the phone will now let me use option #3, because that's what made it work last time. However, I'm looking for instructions since I messed up somewhere in the process last time.
I just tried the following, but I get a recording saying they are unable to activate my phone at this time and then it tried to connect me to a person.
1. Install PRL
2. Install carrier cab
3. Install MMS cab
4. Run *228, #3
I know the person is just going to tell me that they can't help because their system doesn't recognize the ESN.
So what's the verdict, can I expect to get this phone back onto the voice network, will it ever work on the data network? Any help that anyone can offer in resolving this would be greatly appreciated.
Wrong forum? Should this have gone into upgrades?
moved thread by request of OP as Q&A forum did not provide answers nor does the OP expect it to.
Best regards,
Flar
Since being able to dial *228, have you called customer service to pull a new key for your device? When I upgraded a xv6800 rom I was not able to dial *228 until I did that. It was a bit of work getting it to pull the new key, but they did it. They first walked me through a manual registration process, then I think they tried to push it through and that worked.
Is your phone a Verizon phone? The pickle I'm in is that mine is not. When they ask me for the ESN they say it's unrecognized and that's pretty much it. They say they can't help me get it on the network because it's not a Verizon phone.

Yep mine is a verizon phone. I am wondering if this is a new implementation, because I have flashed several roms before and never had to call them to get my phone activated until about a month ago. When you dial *228 does it allow you to do a phone programing, I think it is option 1?
No. 1, 2, & 3 all fail. I just called tech support again, hoping getting a new A key would resolve this. He told me he couldn't give me an A key unless the phone's ESN was in the system and the only way to get it in there is through *228, #3... Kind of a Catch 22.
His last suggestion was that I activate a different PDA on my number and see if maybe the computer is choking because my current phone isn't a PDA, and this one is. Kind of sounds like clutching at straws, but he said at this point I've done all that can be done, short of that.
I find really odd, and extremely frustrating, that I can't find anyone else who has been through this with a non-Verizon phone.

I bought an unlocked HTC touch pro 2 that was with T-mobile.
I have AT&T. My phone works good for calls and text messaging but the data plan does not work.
I called AT&T and they cant help me.
I called HTC..can't help me.
They both said to call T-Mobile and ask them to reset the data options because my phone is trying to read off of the T-mobile options but what that amounts to is that they just don't know what they are talking about.
My friend said this site will have the answer!
Can anyone..please..point me in the right direction on how to set up my phone so I can use the data plan for AT&T or am I screwed??
I am new at this so I don't understand the lingo but..do I need to flash a rom on my phone to kind of wipe it clean of T-Mobile and start fresh or what??
Please help me!!
Ok...I have done some digging on this site and I just wanna be clear. It looks like my phone wont work with the 3g network...and I'm ok with that...but my phone has NO internet at all and thats what I'm trying to fix.It also looks like I can fix my problem...just need a push in the right direction..please??

If you flash a new ROM, they all come with a little program that runs in the begining to provision the phone with this info... Might be easier....
ok..thanks alot..i have the internet now.
one problem..those instructions don't help me with sending or recieving picture messages. I can't follow them to get me to where it fixes that for an htc touch pro 2...any ideas?
Are you looking in the registry at your arcsoft settings?

My understanding is that the T-Mobile phone has different hardware modem. It will not work with the AT & T 3G network. Sorry, there is no way I know of to fix this. The two carriers use different technology for 3G.
However, it should work with the EDGE network on AT&T. You will need tech support from AT&T - ask them what settings need to be entered in the connection manager to get the device to work with EDGE. Your phone has settings for "T-Mobile Data" in the Comm Manager. You need to delete that and enter the AT&T settings.
Also, VERY IMPORTANT, you need to go to the phone screen (where you dial calls), bring up the options, and set it to operate ONLY on 2G networks. Otherwise I think the T-Mobile 3G modem may interfere with your EDGE data.
BTW, have you asked T-Mobile about getting a Tilt 2? This is the same phone. You could resell your unlocked T-Mobile TP2 on ebay and recoup a lot of the costs. This would be the best option, since you could then get 3G coverage.

I would like to do this then...any suggestions on which rom i should use and how to do it..i appreciate all the help
all custom roms should have a provision cab or program. You will need to unlock your phone first. Look in the rom dev section
So I had my Evo 4g rooted with Unrevoked3, had some nice ROMs and all that fun bling stuff for a few months without a hitch. Yesterday I had my number changed, didn't bother returning to stock or anything. I couldn't dial out or send texts (but could send texts) but had access to the mobile network. So I unrooted, returned to stock (no OTA cuz I intend to root it again), ran through Sprint's activation again and still exact same issue.
I get this message when I attempt dialing out and also when I dial my new number from a diff line: "We could not complete your call. Please try again." Google voice works fine though - but again, so does the mobile network.
Sprint customer service is no help - and right now the Sprint store is closed, so here I be. Any help would be appreciated.
it sounds like the number is not configured correctly on sprint's end. taking it into the store may be the only way to get it fixed. or go onto the sprint website n try

This, or call *2.
Problem solved! Turns out it was my Google Voice number integrated with my old Sprint number that was creating conflicts with my phone being able to use the new Sprint number. Talk about a whack attack. I spoke with five diff techs trying to figure this one out.
Man, I did all that unrooting and resetting for nothin! Except, of course, for other Google Voice subscribers to learn from my experience...
Anyone with sprint having visual voicemail issues?
It seems they FINALLY released an app in the app store for unlocked models! yay!!! but it doesn't work. It hangs trying to activate like the manual apk install ones lol.
It will ONLY show in play store if you are on unlocked model and search for sprint visual voicemail. It has 0 reviews.
So I cross flashed my phone to Sprint FW as I wanted Calling Plus anyway so figure that will get me VM and ha, nope. So that one doens't do activation error it just never tells you that a voicemail came.
If you try to change any settings like advertisement options it times out talking to the server it claims.
So either me trying the new one first broke something on my account.
Activating an unlocked one broke something on the account (many times on activation they blow features away and re-add etc.)
Some other random issue.
I spent 2 hours on phone with sprint and they couldn't fix. They didn't ask about unlocked vs branded phone and I didn't really want to bring up I cross flashed and it worked in the past but who knows what it could be.
They sent a tkt in to a 3rd level I get to wait to hear back.
Anyone else having VM notification issues with sprint on locked or unlocked? Have you tried the app if you are unlocked or cross flashed and had luck?
I have an unlocked version on Sprint as well but I can't find the Visual Voicemail App in the play store. Is there any way you can link it? I can try it out and report back.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sprint.vvm
But do it from phone. On PC it says not avil in my country oddly. I also can't find it searching, it seems to only show up if your model is the unlocked one as since I flashed my phone to sprint now it doesn't show in search just my library from when I tried before flashing.
I tell you sprint is pissing me off though. VVM still not working and even flashed premium caller ID doesn't work. It fails to activate. On sprint side it knows it's unlocked device still so it restricts things out still it seems.
Basically only thing I have gained is calling plus (fake VoLTE).
Hmm I can't even download through my phone over LTE. It does the same thing "not available in this country" and "Item not found" in the play store. Very weird!
I got mine through Sprint, and VVM works fine.
Would love the answer to this been waiting months. The app store says this is not compatible with my model (so plus)
